The demonstration went on and at last ended with the Joker gas being released and fortunately lifted up through the air by a sudden gush of wind. As if Mother Nature herself was siding with them. Looking over to Imai and 201, the Ex-Soldier walked over to their side and turned his gaze back on Joker while Imai inquired to his motives for wanting to join the Resistance. His answer didn't sit well with him. "This isn't a game."

Garrus Vakarian Imai. Garrus walked over to the opposite side of Imai and 201 where the Ex-Soldier was standing, right next to Imai and within whispering distance of the woman. Garrus Vakarian I have a bad feeling about this clown.

"Imai."
“Garrus.”
I have a bad feeling about this clown.
“Your concerns are noted,” Imai whispered back.
“Let's at least hear him out,” whispered 201.
"Hm... why do I want to help take down Vulture. Well, the truth be told I can give you two answers, one that is a complete lie, and one that is the truth. The lie would be that I truly care for the citizens of this city, which is not really true. The truth, however, is much deeper than that. I want to help take down Vulture simply because I want to help take down Vulture. That is it, no 'because a friend died because of him' or 'he stole from me, and I want payback'. It is the same reason a child play games, he doesn't have to, he just wants to have fun. I don't have to help take down Vulture because I have to, it is because I want to."
"This isn't a game."
“Go home, clown.”
Imai turned around and motioned for the other Resistance members to follow her. She didn't say anything more to Joker or turned back around. She simply kept watching, leading the Resistance members to the new military base this sector now has full access to.

Despite the statement that the Joker dreaded hearing was spoken, this did not stop the Joker from smiling. The Joker bowed to any of those still looking at him, and began to speak. "Well, my audition didn't go very well, and the die have already been cast, so there seems to be nothing left... well there could but I don't know." The Joker regained his posture, and turned to the alien (Garrus). "You seem like the... man... to wield technology, which is why I have a parting gift, well two actually. The first is the gas that I used... that causes people to smile, the second is an antidote." The Joker took out a little pouch, filled with the small balls of Joker Venom, as well as another small pouch labeled "Antidote", and threw them near the alien but on the ground. Neither the gas nor the antidote went off. "It doesn't really matter if you want it or not, you should still take it, at least that way you can dispose of it. Anywho, I have a card in the antidote, just incase you ever need some help... but you probably won't call. Oh well, ta ta for now." Before anyone could do anything, the Joker ran towards an alleyway, but was still visible. He could hear people, if they called out to him.

The first rejection. It seems Imai had a limit with who she recruited after all. Good. A commander needed to know their limits. Kragen turned around and began to walk with the others, turning his head slightly to look over his shoulder seeing that Joker was offering Garrus the laughing gas and the antidote. The Ex-Soldier stopped in his movement and waited to see what the rebel turian would do.

Garrus was pleased with Imai's decision to not recruit Joker to their cause. The line had to be drawn somewhere and they didn't need soldiers who didn't care about the people here. It was why he was iffy on recruiting Spokesman after finding out he didn't care about the people here either but in his case, with everything he caused, it was better to stay on his good side until he did something that forced their hand and for now, whether he intended to or not, Gabe was doing more good towards the resistance here than not.
The Rebel Turian turned along with the rest but soon turned back when he heard Joker. Examining the pouch, he took it and the second one. Seeing the clown off before turning back to the others and rejoining with them. If anything this would give him something to study when they settled in to their new base.

The Joker glanced behind him and saw the alien pick up the bag of laughing gas. He was glad, as he knew the chances of him actually joining the resistance was slim. However, he knew that at least they would have the ability to use "him" as the Joker Venom was actually his blood, as it was poisoned with the venom long ago. The Joker turned around back into the alleyway, and walked away.
The Joker was smart enough to leave a card in the pouch of antidote. The card read this; "Who ever reads this, then I have failed joining the resistance. Do not worry, I suspected this for a while, not everyone likes clowns. Anyway, if you are reading this, then I think you are at least smart enough to find out how the gas works, and to be able to reengineer it. The gas has my face smiling on it, while the antidote has my face frowning on it. They are caused by impact, so be careful. With the small chance that I mixed some labels, the Joker Venom is Green, while the antidote is Red. Good luck... p.s. if you need more venom, you can alway search for me, I can always make more : )
(the Joker has the thread left)
