The Fire Raged [Chapter XVII]

[Kragen]

Scorpion watched as his fellow clan members hit the ground but their bodies didn't vanish to be reborn in the flames. Instead they stood up after the attack, the soul being bound to their bodies and refusing to pass on as the Assassin himself would and began flanking behind the Ajerian not stopping his momentum but trailing it and attacking when there was an opening, looking to trap him along with the others at the gate. Scorpion spotted the Black Knight out the corner of his eye when he came and then joined them in the slaughter but never fully took his sights off of the Ajerian that nearly butchered Quan Chi.

[Tenjou, Utena]

They were trapped. Trapped like rats in the place they were supposed to protect and in turn protect them. She felt herself being pushed away as Aminee got her out of the line of fire and started firing at the demon. The surviving guards in the room turned their blades on them and began swinging, prompting Utena to reply with her Rapier swinging through the air and blocking their swords. Pulling away before the numbers game had a chance to take her and standing next to Aminee.
"We need to find a way out of here."

[DC Comics]

Many of the Sorcerers were sent back to the Netherrealm thanks to Superwoman. Others in different parts of the castle not yet approached by the goddess spread out. The ones by Utena and Aminee deflected the bullets and cast a disarming spells on their weapons before surrounding them. Meanwhile the Sorcerers spread throughout the castle used their powers to create wall of energy that blocked off the people in the castle. Preventing Fukari from leaving the dungeons and Utena and Aminee from leaving the entrance hallway where the Sorcerers attacking them were located.

As the soldiers were pushing them back Jeho kicked one of the angels into the row behind them, allowing him to cut through and moved passed Chloe and swing his sword in a downward slash to slice through her legs while her attention was on Kyrie.

[Garrus Vakarian]

All was going according to plan. The opposing forces were cut off from the castle and those inside separated from each other as all of Jherrazad turned on them in favor of siding with their Empress/Queen once again. Noob moved alongside Alexander and his forces as they continued their march for the castle's gate.

[Miracle]

A powerful surge of holy energy erupted from the High Priestess staff, blowing through the angels that attempted to push them back to their deaths. After doing so she turned her attention to the portals, the Aircano soldiers covering her position and allowing her the time she needed to close them cutting off the new angels that came pouring out.

[Alex]

Running into a dead end via wall of energy the Blind Assassin search far and wide in the dungeons for objects that could make an explosive. Putting it all together she strapped it to a wall and then set it off, blowing through the wall and out of the side of the castle which she proceeded to climb up and entered through a window on a higher up floor to find the real goods that Jherrazad had taken from her upon her capture.

Solomon was one of the soldiers that gathered around Miracle in order to protect her. Holding his ground but the numbers were too great and now that Yahweh had gone out ahead it left them vulnerable to the rest of the soldiers around them. Seeing the entrance to the castle sealed up by some strange black magic he looked to the High Priestess. "Miracle! We need to get inside the castle." Otherwise they would hit a literal dead end and never make it through the vast number of soldiers all around them.

[Chloe/Kat]

It stopped moving. Chloe's eyes widened in disbelief before screaming in pain when the Crimson Devil chopped off her arms and the second Kasul went flying into her hands. A kick later and the Empress was spitting out dirt with Ranko's words eating her up inside. "No." Chloe refused to believe this was happening. Jherrazad wasn't Ranko's anymore. It was hers. She earned the right to call herself Empress. "I'm the Empress of Jherrazad. I AM!" Chloe arms regenerated and she got back up to her feet just in time to start ripping the Jherrazad civilians to pieces and absorbing their blood to increase her own power before taking one of their weapons and turning back at Ranko. "I killed you once." Chloe raised up her new sword. "I can kill you again!"

[Aminee Starlight]

"You have to be kidding me!" Now Jherrazad itself was turning against them. They just couldn't win. The Pop Idol watched as her weapon went flying out of her hands and when the Sorcerers closed in Aminee twirled to avoid the in-coming blades and grabbed Utena's hand dancing with her in evading the attacks until they reached their weapons and Aminee grabbed her pistol. Seeing that the room was sealed and they had nowhere to go. "Any other ideas?"

[Kara]

Kara led Sailor V and the Moon Valley refugees to one of the exits that were sealed off and unsealed it with her power getting them out of the castle and into safety. She then used her power to spread out through the Empire, co-existing in several places at once wherever a demonic portal had opened and closed it. Decreasing the numbers that would've came pouring out otherwise and lowering the Netherrealm's army deployment time whenever they lost a soldier on the battlefield. She also worked to unseal the energy seals throughout the castle, the gates especially, to allow Demetrios and the others trapped by the gate inside and would close it soon after.

[Kyrie]

Kyrie parried the dual blades with her staff and thrust it forward, aiming a swift jab with the end of the staff to the Crimson Devil's jaw while the light coming off of her body pushed away the demon soldiers that tried to get in the way.

[Jehanne]

Jehanne cut down any enemy soldier that got too close to Miracle and then looked over to the castle gates overhead when Solomon mentioned it, just in time to see the magic seal come on its own.

"The gates are opened!"

Jehanne said to the others as she continued to fight.

[Ayen]

More soldiers blocked Jeho's path to Ranko and stopped his momentum dead before pushing him back to the Aircano forces. Meanwhile the Crimson Devil blocked Kyrie's jab crossing the Kasuls in an X-formation before increasing speed, making it far more difficult for Kyrie to parry, block or dodge as the swings came in flashes, her arms moved in a red blur as the blade came cutting through her staff like knife through butter and continued on to claim her flesh and spirit.

[Cap'n Failz]

He couldn't believe it. He was being pushed back?! Through sheer numbers, even he was being pushed back. He had faced down gods, demons, Celestials, even the Devil himself, and he had never once been pushed back this soundly. But this....it was sheer numbers that weighed against him and forced him back.

And try as he might, laying about him with his mystic chain, ripping everything its burning links touched to shreds, he couldn't maintain his ground. The Spirit of Vengeance wasn't made to fight armies, he lacked the skill to do so. But he did have the power to fight any foe. And he would put it to use.

Swinging his chain about him, he poured more and more Hellfire through its blistering links, until a literal hurricane of demonic flames roared about him. With the area around him cleared, he brought his free arm up and over his head, before driving it down into the earth and releasing a powerful explosion of Hellfire. Everything for several meters around was blown apart and reduced to ash, leaving him ample time to do exactly what they wanted him to do.

His Hellcycle reappeared in a swirling cone of Hellfire, and he took off toward the castle gates. Anything and everything, save that which he identified as fighting against these invading beasts, was met with searing Hellfire and blown out of his path, until he neared the castle and once more leaped off of his Hellcycle, and once more took a stand as best he could.

[Kragen]

As Ghost Rider came riding through on his motorcycle from hell Scorpion outstretched his palm and shot out another spear on a rope into the chest of the Rider and pulled him off his still running motorcycle and readying an upper-cut once he was within range as the rest of the Shirai Ryu joined with the other soldiers to block the entrance of the now opened gate.

[Tenjou, Utena]

Utena gasped at the sudden spin dance Aminee pulled her into but couldn't complain as she picked up her weapon while Aminee got hers. Utena was struggling to come up with a plan but she wouldn't have to as Kara came to the rescue. Although she was the last person Utena wanted to be around she was a hell of a lot better than these demons that wanted to kill them.
"Come on!"
Utena grabbed Aminee by the wrist and led her over to where Superwoman was standing to get out of the line of fire from the demons.
