The Orphanage

With no orders to speak of and training over for the day Heinkel Wolfe made her way for the orphanage found near the end of the sector. It was the same orphanage that suffered a Vulture's VTOL crashing on its roof and burning several orphans alive as others were saved but still suffered burn scaring on their bodies. Father Anderson always had a love for the children and the orphanage back home and It saw fit to continue his work right here in Hallowton.

With Maricul's crucifix in hand Heinkel approached the front of the orphanage which received the food Sebastian sent to them upon It request and saw several children outside playing underneath the suns. Among them was a small boy suffering from third degree burns and had most of his face covered by bandages in a similar manner to her own. Heinkel stood over the child and the child looked up with dark eyes of ebony and his expression hidden by the bandages over his face but Heinkel certainly didn't get a sense of fear coming off of the child which was rare when children saw It own scars this close up.

Heinkel lowered the crucifix and the child watched it dangle through the air and shinning brightly in the light above as a small King James bible followed the crucifix in Heinkel's other hand. The boy took both and looked them over. Sharing one final glance with Heinkel as the Regenerator broke It icy stare to smile at the boy.

"Go with God my child."

That said Heinkel turned and saw to overseeing the rest of the orphanage.

While Anderson himself wasn't part of the defense of Hallowton he had seen the damage of the battle clear as day on the people he had encountered. Anderson was on the front lines of the approaching demon army facing off against them when the attack hit Hallowton from Isfaro. Had he been here he may of defended the orphanage much better than it had been. The fact that there were very few casualties surprised him. Of course, this man would pay no mind to Heinkel has he sat with a couple of the children reading to them from the passages of his bible.

Anderson was unlike the one Heinkel would remember. He was younger looking even though he was about the same age as her worlds Anderson. This man was also much stronger looking and standing up would appear to be completely solid. The man was wearing simply a grey suit, a lilac tie with his cross danging over it. His under garments were black as were the dress shoes he wore. The one similarity to his usual dress code was his gloves, Jesus Christ is in Heaven and Speak with Dead both boldly across the tops of them.

By the time Heinkel would notice him he would be finishing his reading with the children, "- or else ah will come an' strike the land with total destruction.” Alright children. Tomorrow we'll begin Matthew one, a lovely tale o' my lord Jesus Christ," Anderson was closing the book and the children were gathered around him happily telling him good bye and following as he walked toward the gate to the yard.

It was then he noticed Heinkel. He stopped and turned to the children kneeling, "Carry on now, go play, ah need a moment to myself." The children scattered chasing one another as Anderson stood and looked over his shoulder to Heinkel, the look on his face was no longer that of happiness, more or less it was one very questioning of who this person was. They dressed similar to one from the order in his time, "Who are ya?"

Heinkel stopped where It stood when It saw him. At first the Lone Wolf thought It's eyes were playing tricks on It but once Heinkel heard the man's voice, once he was standing before It the Iscariot's leader knew this was no trick.

'Thorns... The thorns...'

'Anderson... What in God's name happened to you?'

'He has left his human shell behind.'

Memories of that night played through Heinkel's mind. The moment Anderson stabbed Helena's Nail into his heart he lost who he was. He became something terrible. Heinkel wanted to believe it was the same one. That somehow Anderson was resurrected, brought here for a second chance at life. But It knew better than that. Was it possible that this world had another Anderson as well?

"Heinkel Wolfe."

'You mustn't cry, little ones. Say your bedtime prayers...
