So far he's been avoiding everyone who came around him. He seemed to be an outcast in the city for shelter, many thought he might be from Moon Valley because of the state his jacket was in making him seem like a refugee. But that wasn't true. They didn't know that they harbored a hybrid of holy and unholy power.
On this very day, Dante was sitting on the edge of the town, literally sitting on a high wall that ran alongside the road closest to the south. Dante was leaned forward kicking his heels against the stone and smoking a joe staring at the forest where Moon Valley was.
But it wouldn't take long for the heat to materialize a number of running people coming at the town. He took a guess at the rather massive thing that began appearing over the horizon wasn't friendly.
"Time to get to work," Dante flicked his cigarette and jumped off the wall landing on his feet.
He casually began walking down the road as the travelers got closer and closer. The male of the small group yelled out to him, "Run! It's a demon! Get the Paladins!"
They ran past Dante as he continued walking forward, "Nah. It'd take too long." The demon was overly large, monster like, dog like, humanoid even. Large claws, strong legs and arms, a nasty snarl, all the things Dante liked.
It got in range and slammed its fist into the ground aimed at Dante, but it seemed to have missed by only an inch where in reality Dante took a step back just before it would of hit him.
"Here boy," Dante said mocking the demon as he bent down beckoning it closer as if it was a puppy. The demon lunged forward trying to grab the very elusive demon hunter but missed altogether.
Dante's feet landed first and he took a few steps forward, "Gonna have to do this the hard way then?" He pulled his pistols free and turned just as it did tilting his body toward the demon while aiming his right one straight ahead and his left one over his head, "Heel boy!"
He pulled the triggers back to back peppering the demon which raised its arm shielding its face then roared loudly at him lunging. Dante holstered his guns and rolled to the left just in time pulling his sword free and driving it through the side of the demon spewing blood twenty feet into the air.
The demon slid and got back on all fours roaring at him again. "Alright, alright, we can go for a walk." The demon sprinted at him again this time encasing its claws in an unholy aura as it tried to grab Dante again.
But Dante was ever more unscathed by such folly attempts. The demon would just barely see him step to the left and when it redirected its attack he would twist his entire body avoiding the entire body of the beast and sending his massive claymore into the air as it pierced into its back.
Dante ran after it and jumped on its back taking hold of his sword and ran it up the demons spine before getting to its neck. The demon fell paralyzed before Dante swiped taking its head completely off its shoulders.
"I guess that counts as jogging."
He turned around and noticed the travelers hadn't entered the town like they originally were going to. They watched the entire thing. Dante sheathed his blade and was walking past them, as he was he dropped them a line, "My names Dante the Demon Killer. Spread it around."
Maybe a few hours had passed, he was sitting in quiet on a bench watching the people go by. He was leaned back with a leg resting on his knee, his left arm was across the back of the bench, his head was tilted back resting on the bench itself. Dante was holding a bottle in his right hand.
"Business is good."
