"Everything is separated by light and dark. The universes need these two things to co-exist in order to maintain the balance in existence. If either light or dark takes control of a specific area for too long you'll start to see results like the Battle of Aircano. Do you understand?"
“I believe so. You're saying the two driving forces in the universe is light and dark.”
"Never mind that right now."
“You're the one who brought it up. Was Utopia behind the latest attack on Genesis?”
"What would you want to be? I could give you any set of abilities you'd want. If you accept. All you have to do is think it and I can create it. What would you want to be?"
“I want to be me. I don't want to be anything that would change who I am.”
The worry began to show on Tori's features as she continued, “And promise me you won't let this new power of yours change who you are.”

"Yes. When all the people from other worlds began to appear it became harder to maintain that balance. Yahweh's answer was simple, just kill them. I plan to take a different approach." A more fiscal conservative approach. "Yes Utopia was behind the attack. Their goal was to merge all the realms together into a single reality that would have been ran by their leader. We all would have been under their whim if that happened and believe me, it's good that they didn't succeed."
Tori question came as a surprise to Kara, but she could understand where she was coming from at least from the standpoint of one who never had powers growing up so it was different for them. "Power don't define you, Tori. You define them. Just look at me, I managed to become something great with the abilities I was born with. I think I can handle godhood. You sure you don't want anything to help you fight?"

“Key word being born. You were meant to have those abilities, I wasn't. Giving me anything more than I already have is just asking for trouble. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Besides if I can't fight with my own strength then what's the point?”

"Relocation. If we move around those who tip the scales in one direction every couple of years we should be able to maintain a balance for a long time. Anyone who has a home to go back to would be escorted through the Downward Spiral and returned home." It sounded like a solid plan in her mind mostly because the ones who tip the scales of balance are the ones who hurt innocent people in the first place. "Utopia's leader is Maricul "the seductress" the story were told and thought a mere myth. She's come a long way from being a vampire."
Kara was sad when Tori declined her offer to be empowered. She finally thought that for once Tori would be able to understand what it was like to be her, to be different. That it would bring them closer together but she could understand her decision and respected it despite how it made her feel. "All right, Tori. I'll leave you as you are. My beautiful Tori."

“A forced relocation?”
Someone hasn't been paying attention during History class.
“What if they don't want to be moved?”
"Utopia's leader is Maricul "the seductress" the story we were told and thought a mere myth. She's come a long way from being a vampire."
“Maricul is real too?”
It seemed fiction wasn't so fictional anymore these days.
“And what do you mean? What is she now?”
"All right, Tori. I'll leave you as you are. My beautiful Tori."
Tori smiled.
“Thanks.”

"I would attempt a compromise. I will not kill to maintain the balance, I'll step down before it comes to that." And those were her feelings on the matter. Tori would have no idea what it's like to be able to see so many different possibilities and still manage to come up so short on what to do. Which spoke volumes to how bad the state of creation was when even the gods were running out of ideas. "Maricul has stolen tools from the Downward Spiral to make herself an artificial god, I guess you could say. All her powers are borrowed from the tower."

"I would attempt a compromise. I will not kill to maintain the balance, I'll step down before it comes to that."
“Is that even an option?”
"Maricul has stolen tools from the Downward Spiral to make herself an artificial god, I guess you could say. All her powers are borrowed from the tower."
“The Downward Spiral can do all that?”
Tori was both intrigued and frightened at the idea. If the tower was so advanced that its tools could turn you into a god then she shuddered to think what would happen if a nation like Isafaro or Jherrazad got a hold of it.

"It's never been done before but I know the Creator won't stand in my way if I choose to make that decision. Hopefully it won't come down to that." Because quite frankly Superwoman couldn't think of anyone who'd make a better god than she, that wasn't meant to sound as bad as it did, she just knew many didn't have the strength to resist the temptation of abusing their powers as she did. Even Tori would be greatly tempted by such power. "The Downward Spiral is the only thing among existence that stands out from creation. It has the ability to do a lot of things. That's why it's so dangerous and is important nobody makes claim to it."

“I don't know many deities that are crazy about the free-will aspect of life, despite some of them claiming to have created it.”
"The Downward Spiral is the only thing among existence that stands out from creation. It has the ability to do a lot of things. That's why it's so dangerous and is important nobody makes claim to it."
“And The Creator couldn't think of anywhere else to put it instead of right out in the open for all to see?”

"I know what you mean, but with the Creator it's different. Free will is actually a very important part in the universes, whether certain gods want to acknowledge it or not." It was crazy to think that so many realities existed for each individual choice and that she was now able to observe each reality and understand how they came into existence. Kara felt like a kid in a fairytale every time she thought about it.
"Had the Creator not put the Downward Spiral at the center of Jherra, then there would be no Jherra." For it was the tower that saved not just this continent, but the entire planet in the aftermath of the Battle for Aircano. "So be glad it was out in the open."

“Care to elaborate? I'm curious.”
"Had the Creator not put the Downward Spiral at the center of Jherra, then there would be no Jherra. So be glad it was out in the open."
“Perhaps, but one could argue if the balance is so important to maintain why doesn't the Creator step in and restore it? Or how the balance was able to be damaged in such a severe way in the first place?”

"The many alternate realities in existent are a consequence of free will. Every choice made branches off to another alternate reality and that's why there are so many different universes." It was a theory she had heard before for people who tried to keep God as all knowing and all powerful without taking away free will, though Kara never would have thought it would be the correct theory. "While I exist in this reality as a god, there's more than likely an alternate reality of this one where I'm still my former self. As for your other question I wish I could tell you, but your mind just can't comprehend the answer. I know that sounds like a cop out but it's the truth."

"The many alternate realities in existent are a consequence of free will. Every choice made branches off to another alternate reality and that's why there are so many different universes."
“So... if I was to wear a blue sweater instead of a green sweater, that would create an alternate universe?”
No wonder the balance was so screwy.
"While I exist in this reality as a god, there's more than likely an alternate reality of this one where I'm still my former self. As for your other question I wish I could tell you, but your mind just can't comprehend the answer. I know that sounds like a cop out but it's the truth."
“Then explain it in a manner my mind can comprehend.”

"It's not quite that simple but you get the general idea, yes." When Tori requested to have it explained in a matter she could comprehend the goddess was at a lost. She couldn't think of any way in which Tori's mind would be able to understand. If she was a god that wouldn't be a problem but Tori had made it clear the only thing she wanted to be was what she was born to be. "I'm sorry, Tori. I want to but I can't."

"I'm sorry, Tori. I want to but I can't."
“Then I'm sorry, but that does sound like a cop out to me and I won't accept it. Contrary to popular belief the Creator of existence can be held responsible for their actions and they should be.”
Tori turned towards the exit of the loft and took a few steps forward before turning back to her long-time friend.
“Congratulations, Kara. I'm happy for you and hope everything works out for the best but do me one favor, don't think just because you're an omnipotent being now that you're above explanations. Because you aren't.”
And with that said Tori went on her way.
