Guilt crept up into Utena's mind as she now stood outside of June's window for the second time. During all the commotion caused by the hostile takeover attempt of the Downward Spiral and worlds merging at an alarming rate, Utena didn't have the time or the chance to see if June was okay. She prayed that she was, that the moment she threw the little rock at her window that she would answer and open it. Wishing for the best, the former Champion of Ohtori grabbed one of the tiny rocks from the ground and threw one against the window of June Evans.

Utena stood there for what felt like hours. Simply staring up at the window with her heart beating faster and faster with each second that passed. It skipped a beat altogether when she realized that no one has come to the window at the sound of the little rock hitting the glass. That it has yet to be opened up by June like it was before. The former Champion of Ohtori had to convince herself that she must not have heard it, struggling to take deep breaths as she threw another little rock against the outside of June's window.

A terrible fright sunk into Utena's heart as the fear of discovering June's demise was ever apparent in her very soul. Not wanting to believe that the girl could be dead she ended up throwing every little rock she had in the palm of her hand at the window one by one and when no answer came she climbed up the nearby tree. Steadily balancing on the tree branch that led to June's window and looked inside to find...

June was not in her bed.

This was when Utena started to panic. Bringing her hands at the bottom of the window and forcing it open from the outside, the former Champion of Ohtori stepped into June's room and looked everywhere for any signs of June. Underneath her covers, in the closet and even underneath her own bed thinking that maybe she was hiding out. But nothing. In the aftermath of those horrible creatures attacking Moon Valley June was nowhere to be seen. And that could only mean one thing.
Tears flowed freely down her cheeks as she grabbed the covers on June's bed and pulled them towards her, holding them tight as if she was holding the dead body of June herself. She was so busy trying to keep herself alive and getting to the tower that she had forgotten all about June. One of the few friends she had remaining and she was gone. This room being the only thing to remember her by.

Utena's mourning would be interrupted by the sound of the toilet down the hall from June's room flushing and footsteps making their way back to the door of the bedroom. The knob turned and when it came open it was none other than June dressed in a plain pair of pink pajamas that came inside. Her eyebrows raising at the sight of Utena being on her bed crying into her sheets.
“Utena? What are you doing?”

Utena was snapped out of her mourning when she heard the flush, remembering that she was in someone else's house, but by then the sounds of footsteps were fast approaching June's room. Before the former Champion of Ohtori could do anything the door came open and she would look on in shock at the person she saw. June. It was June. She was alive. Utena practically jumped out of the bed and wrapped her arms around June pulling her into the biggest hug she's ever gave anyone. She felt like such a fool for assuming the worse without hardly searching the house but none of that mattered now. What mattered is June was alive and they could laugh at her foolishness together. That was much better than mourning the lost of another dear friend. "June, I'm so glad to see you. Forgive me. When those creatures appeared and you didn't answer your window I assumed the worse. I'm just- I'm just so glad to see you're okay."

June suddenly found herself being squeezed in a monster hug after it looked like Utena had been crying just seconds previously. Struggling to breathe June gently pushed Utena away and looked at her.
"June, I'm so glad to see you. Forgive me. When those creatures appeared and you didn't answer your window I assumed the worse. I'm just- I'm just so glad to see you're okay."
“It's okay, Utena. I'm right here.”
June slowly escorted Utena back to the bed and set her down, from there she grabbed some tissues and gave them to Utena to blow her nose before sitting down next to her on the side of the bed.
“I'm glad you came to see me. I missed you.”

Utena moved back to the bed with June at her side and sat down, gladly accepting the tissues and blowing her nose to clear it up after crying clogged it. A second tissue to wipe the tears away from her eyes before looking back to June. "I missed you too." Like she couldn't imagine. For days now June was all she could think about, the girl having dominated her mind and leaving nothing short than a world disaster to remove her from it. Now she was back with her again for what could very well be the last time. But Utena didn't want this to feel like the last. "I'm living with a friend now. Over at the Luna Hotel. I thought it was time to move out of the woods." Actually it was Aminee who fought to move her out of it but who's keeping score?
"I'm also considering enrolling at the school. I figured I'm going to be here for a while so might as well, right?" Considering it anyway. She still wasn't sure if it was such a good idea but maybe seeing June's reaction would help her make a decision one way or the other about it. "It can't be any worse than my old school."

"I missed you too."
After Utena finished blowing her nose and wiping her tears away, June gently rested a hand over the back of Utena's palm and smiled towards the girl as she listened while Utena spoke.
"I'm living with a friend now. Over at the Luna Hotel. I thought it was time to move out of the woods."
“I'm glad to hear that. I was worried you'd turn into a female Tarzan and start living with a gorilla,” said June, half jokingly.
"I'm also considering enrolling at the school. I figured I'm going to be here for a while so might as well, right? It can't be any worse than my old school."
June let out a small laugh at the jab Utena took at Ohtori Academy before steering the conversation to a more serious tone.
“Are you sure you're ready? As much as I would love to see you everyday at my school, don't do anything you aren't comfortable with yet. Get used to living with people at the Luna Hotel first. I don't want to see you taking on too much too fast.”

Utena laughed at the Tarzan's comment. "A gorilla would have been helpful against that stupid wolf..." She then noticed June's hand on top of hers making the former Champion of Ohtori feel warm inside as she saw June let out a small laugh of her own glad to see June so happy before she voiced her concerns. "It's all right," she began, holding up June's hand and holding it closer to her, "It's all right. I'm ready. You should come out to the hotel some time. I would love to introduce you to Aminee."

"A gorilla would have been helpful against that stupid wolf..."
June smiled, now having a funny image of a gorilla beating up on a wolf and then eating a banana in her head.
"It's all right."
June's eyes were now solely focused on Utena and nothing else as she felt the pink-headed girl hold her hand close making it warm as she spoke.
"It's all right. I'm ready. You should come out to the hotel some time. I would love to introduce you to Aminee."
At the mentioned of another female name June slowly pulled her hand away and looked at Utena, trying yet failing to conceal the small hint of jealousy that started reeling its ugly head.
“Who's Aminee?”

Utena began to slowly lean in closer to June, never breaking eye contact even for a brief moment as her lips searched for hers but before she could complete her move June would have pulled back and asked about Aminee with subtle overtones of jealousy in her tone catching the former Champion of Ohtori by surprise. "What? No. It's not like that at all Aminee and I are just friends."
