Grey chuckled as he looked around the battlefield for a moment; an empty field of nothing. Something oddly un-nerving for the young man who had expected perhaps grass, or even a nice book just lying around. Before him stood a demon; none other than the one known as Raal. Grey took his scythe out, and his pistol; both slowly so that intentions were made clear by the young man. Battle was to begin with the beast; it would make the first move. "My name is Grey, and you are soon to be defeated, demon." Grey shouted at the infernal being not far from him. He focused a second, and crouched to a defensive position and smirked; a signal he was more than ready.

The reaction was immediate.
Spears of violet energy were tossed forward with deadly accuracy, seemingly from nowhere. Raal teleported in, and launched waves of violet spears, one after the other. He wasn't going to talk. He was intending on killing his prey. It was all for the sake of survival.
This would get grisly.

Grey was quick to dodge the spears; as he raced to speeds almost impossible, he chuckled and noticed that lack of banter as a sign things would be serious. "Not fun in the slightest then? Tch, what a nuisance!" Grey mused as he threw an explosive potion from his jacket, which seemed to make itself.
It exploded violently at the ground before Raal, releasing a very thick gas. Grey used this opportunity to summon clones; exact copies in almost every way. Two appeared at deadly speed from the sides of the demon; and rushed him, the pistols they wielded at the demons feet; the scythes brought to strike horizontally from one side, vertically from the other.
"Cross of Anguish!" They cried as the attack carried forth; and within a second they struck at the demon.

The bullets, the explosion, and the scythes hit the hexagon-plated purple bubble that surrounded Raal. This barrier refused to budge. The demonl decided to make this barrier explode, sending thick walls of energy in all directions. In the back of his mind, a burning sensation started to form, and not bothering to yield anytime soon.
Another barrier appeared to replace the lost one, thick purple hexagons forming another bubble around him. Raal launched bolts of violet energy out of his clawtips, burning the ground in their wrathful wake. The sensation did not escalate with use of the psychic bolts, but if he continued to do what he had done earlier, the fight may be Grey's.

Grey laughed as two of his clones were destroyed, and grinned on as he gracefully dodged the bolts of energy. "Psychic, but not magic. This should be interesting." he said to himself. All the clones disappeared suddenly, and Grey himself stopped for a moment, weapons disappearing; then the shield's surrounding Raal began to be barraged by invisible attacks; Grey travelling so fast his movements were unseen.
'The minute that shield is released,' Grey thought to himself, 'I can get a quick few hundred hits in...."
Bullets began to hail down now, and Grey looked to stand there; that content smug grin on his face.

He felt every single blow on his shield as if they were being assaulted on his very being, although his mental shields kept the pain dulled by about ninety percent. This kid was good, but he already had a lock on his brain signature. No matter how fast the boy moved, he wouldn't be able to avoid his gaze completely. Sentient thought was what kept the demon locked onto Grey.
Raal collected a Brain Wave Bomb, and dropped it from the sky on top of himself. Before it could collide, he teleported out of the way, the condensed purple ball smashing into the ground and causing a huge blast equivalent to a thermonuclear bomb.
He teleported back in at a safe distance, watching the forming massive purple mushroom cloud, complete with rings at its base. That burning sensation abruptly spiked, causing a very mild headache. Anymore of those bombs and he'd be looking at a migrane!

Grey was a little fearful of the mass of energy above him; but since it wasn't magic, he figured he could outrun it, or even shield himself from it. He chose to run; and nearly broke the massive barrier between normal and light travel in under 2 seconds. "A new personal best, I'd say" Grey said, as he looked to the massive crater. He chuckled and raced at the demon; his scythe now vibrating more rapidly as Grey slowed his movement speed. "Heh, take this, ugly!" Grey slammed it down over Raal; and the shockwave generated broke several sound barriers... What remained to be seen was the attacks success, or failure. Grey grinned, and three more Grey's appeared, though the original looked a little pale. He pulled out a small potion, and drank it; it seemed to restore his vitality relatively quickly.
"Tch, so you feed off the mind, do you?"

Still having that headache, Raal visibly moved out of the way, still levitating for more maneuverability. The wave passed without touching him, but it did scrape against his shield as he moved away. He remained in a levitating state, the brown tarp having come off during the move. He was wearing barely anything, just some red cloth to cover up his manliness. He was a pretty boy, with an athletic build, animal-like legs and feet, and a large tail used for grabbing objects and bashing people with. The tail, though, was covered in thousands upon thousands of black barbs, giving it the look of a porcupine's back. His torso was burned with what resembled tribal tattoos.
"I do not feed on the mind. I track. I see you, even with my eyes shut!"
The soul-piercing violet of his eyes became like twin distant stars glittering in the night sky. After levitating out of reach of the scythe itself, he struck at Grey's mind, the assault relentless, unyielding, and merciless. It was like being slammed into the ground by a wrecking ball!
He would not die here, not by some punk with a beef against demons!

Grey felt the surge of mental energy; it even strained him a bit, and a few painful memories were brought to surface; including an ancient attack he never thought of using. A black fire burned now from Grey's scythe, and he easily broke the hold on his sanity; and his foes link to his mind. "Tch, you think to attack my mind? I'm not some human, silly. I'm a reaper, master of the death song, wielder of the scythe and master of my gun. Illusions and darkest power is mine." Grey then seemed to grow faint, as the air around Raal grew unnaturally cold. Grey then completely disappeared into the void, and it turned to images played before the demons eyes.
The greater demon, Raal's eldest brother, crawled out, his other two brothers beside Raal now. They pleaded, and even then, the eldest reached for one, grabbed him, and tore limbs off slowly, the screams and yells echoing forever. A scythe appeared from behind the other brother, and decapitated him cleanly, and Grey, with the pistol in hand, shook his head. "Your brother is impossible to beat. Give up."
Then, the vision faded; and several hundred thousand scythes hung still in the air about, the scenery nothing but the void Raals brother often created. Those scythes all had black flame, all dangerously aimed at Raal. Grey stepped from beyond the void and sighed. "Your brother hunts you still; I his servant. Now, I end this."
And with that, Grey disappeared, and so did the scythes. Or so it seemed; one scythe appeared right behind Raal; then all the scythes appeared around Raal, all covered in his blood. And Grey returned and smirked. "Any minute now, your body is going to hurt. A lot." He remarked with glee.

His body did hurt, but his soul remained intact due to his Mind Over Matter ability. His cells were kicked into action, immediately regenerating any wounds and attaching any missing parts back to their stumps. The only reason this happened was because of his psychic link with his own individual cells. Blood was everywhere.
His brain did channel his greatest fear into becoming a very realistic avatar.
The moving mountain rose from behind Raal's spread-eagle form on the floor, white crown reflecting light. The avatar used its bulk to protect its master, and used its arms to attack Grey. The demon was using Unending Nightmare, and his shield was down to power the gigantic manifestation.
The avatar was the only thing between Grey and Raal. It pained the demon to put himself in this kind of paranoid insanity, but he had to do it for his own personal survival.

Grey sighed as the avatar rose; something he was not expecting, as usual, to block his moves. He looked to his pistol, and moaned in exasperation. "Hey, what's better to use against you; scythe or pistol?" He shouted at the avatar, grinning voraciously.
He disappeared, and struck at the oversized god-like creature several thousand times per second, and fired enchanted bullets all over it's body. Ten seconds later, he stopped and appeared. "Veno..." He said, and all the bullets he'd fired exploded in black light; a soul purging attack.
He took his scythe and gripped it tightly. "Dread-shock Cannon!" He stabbed the scythe into the ground, and used the shaft to aim his pistol; which now glowed and transformed into a rather long sniper. It locked on to the massive target, and fired a pure white bolt.
And Grey smirked, giving a slight grunt at the shot's result....

The behemoth avatar had taken all of those blows, including the one from the sniper rifle. Since it did not have a soul on its own, it just took the physical brunt of the blows. The thing was now missing a slight sliver of its body, but it was still there. The giant manifestation exhaled a strange cloud of energy that was supposed to be the Breath of Nihil, but since it wasn't the actual thing, it was just raw energy. It was designed to burn on contact.
Raal continued to channel his psychic energy into the monumental fiend, knowing what would happen if it failed. He was steeling himself for when that time came, and that clock ticked away.

Grey had looked at the strange air that rushed at him; and then felt a burning on his skin. "What, acid of some kind? Disgusting. Need to wash your mouth out with soap! Toothpaste wouldn't be bad for you either!" He called over, and disappeared, and reappeared behind Raal. "Time to end our little game, friend." He whispered, and put his pistol to the demons back, the scythe the the base of the tail, and chuckled. He pulled the trigger, and a distinctive "click" was heard; the gun was empty. Grey walked back from him, letting the young infernal being to be for a second, shrugging. "Just some harmless fun, right?" Grey laughed and his weapons disappeared to his jacket in a hail storm of light. "Care for a re-match some time? I'd like to see if you could get any better. Try learning some magic." he grinned, and waved Raal off with an arrogant defiance; but the grin on his face showed that he'd enjoyed the small sparring session.
"Come here again if you want to fight again. I'm always ready for, mostly. Except when my sister is being a nuisance!" He laughed as the void vanished, and Grey along with it.
