Destruction. Kragen had no time to wait for the Isafaro resistance. Picking up Genius as fast and as gentle as he could considering her injuries, the ex-soldier put the vampiress on his back and made a run for it as the ice behind them began to melt away, and a great flood threatened to consume everything in its path. Just when it appeared they were both doomed to fall to the flood, the stealth vehicle that was sent for them finally arrived and with no time to lose, Kragen jumped up on the top and yelled to the driver, "Drive!"
The car did a U-turn, its wheels squeaking hard against the ice and leaving tire tracks before heading off. The top of the vehicle began to go back and Kragen placed the demon child in the back seat before looking back to the flood. That when it began to be absorbed by an unknown being in the air. Kragen knew not who it was, but if she took away the flood and meant them no harm she was a friend as far as Kragen was concerned. With no word from either Garrus or Shepard, all Kragen could do now was return to Isafaro.
Kragen returned to the resistance HQ with the Genius in hand, finding a patient room and laying the demon child down in the bed before going to report to Imai.

Olivia started to come to after having passed out back in the Crystal Expanse, currently unaware of the transformation that has taken place since the last time she was in a conscious state. The demon child would soon see Imai and Kragen standing over her against the bed as she still felt too weak to get to her feet, but the regenerating process was already on the way. Not having to hold onto her insides being a good start.
“Where am I?” asked Olivia.
“An undisclosed location in Isafaro,” replied Imai. “You're safe here.”
“Who are you?”
“Commander Imai Katayo of the Isafaro resistance. This is Kragen. Former soldier of the U.S. Army – Operation: Desert Storm.”
“I'm familiar with the country and their wars. I lived through several of them.”
“You're from America?”
“Canada.”
“I'd like to ask you a couple of questions, if I may.”
“If you wish to inquire about my former allegiance I was brought there against my will, swore my loyalties against my will and killed for them against my will. I was being controlled by a woman named Maricul.”
“How was she controlling you?”
“Magic.”
“Go figure. Who's Maricul?”
“A former vampiress turned paradox who resides in Utopia. A place created from the remnants of destroyed worlds after the Arashi called Aper went supernova. You would know the event from the Battle of Aircano which borne you a second sun and half of the Crystal Expanse were melted in the aftermath.”
“I remember that. It added an extra twelve hours to the day. Looks like the whole Crystal Expanse is gone now.”
“What do you mean?”
“After you lost consciousness the place flooded. Kragen was able to get you both away far enough until, according to his report, an unidentified woman in the sky absorbed the water and spared Jherra from being washed away by the impending flood.”
“I see...”
“One of yours?”
“Without a proper description I could not tell you if it was an Utopian that saved us. For all we know it very well could have been an Utopian that flooded the area in the first place.”
“You have a name?”
“There is little meaning to a name.”
“I would like to know what to call you.”
“People call me The Genius.”
“The Genius?”
“It's well deserved, I assure you.”
“When you've fully recovered from your injuries you are free to leave. The button to your left will call in a nurse when you need something.”
“I require blood.”
“That may prove difficult...”
“If I am to recover then I require the consumption of human blood. Animal blood is acceptable but not recommended.”
“I'll have to call in a few favors but I'll see what I can do. Until then you are to not feed off of my men.”
“You do not have to worry. What of him?”
Olivia nodded over to Kragen.
“Is he to guard my room? Keep me from trying anything?”
“He's...”

Kragen stood to Imai's side and listened to the conversation between the two, his mask as always concealing any interest he may or may not have had of the conversation itself. Canadian. It seemed more and more people from his own world, or a place similar, were finally starting to show up in Genesis. He doubt how much her world was like his own if vampires with warp speeds were able to exist in it. Unless that was also a side effect of being joined in Utopia. But who would recruit and turn someone so young?
When they got to the subject of him the ex-soldier looked over to Imai for a moment before looking down to the demon child healing in her bed and finished Imai's sentence for her. "A man with a gun."

"A man with a gun."
“Not just a gun...”
“Kragen, tell 201 our guest needs blood. We might be able to get some from Jherrazad.”
Imai turned back to Genius.
“What will you do once you're recovered?”
“Does it matter?”
“Just curious.”
“Apply my skills to where they'll make a difference. I can't go home and I can't return to Utopia so I might as well do something beneficial. Keep myself from going insane.”
“And what exactly are these skills? Aside from the obvious.”
“War.”
“War?”
“War.”
“What do you mean?”
“I would have assumed from my title it'd be obvious.”
“Tactics?”
“You have no idea.”
“We could use someone like that here. Isafaro is crawling with corrupted soldiers, escaped bio-weapons and citizens running scared. General Vulture needs to be removed from power but recruitment hasn't been going as well as we'd like. Many of the citizens are too afraid to fight and the outsiders are few in number. Effective but few.”
“That's because you're looking in the wrong places.”
“I beg your pardon?”
“These escaped 'bio-weapons'... Where are they now?”

Kragen nodded and gave one final glance to the demon child before turning away and leaving the room. Noticing how well this child was being treated despite her vampiricy than the last. Biased or remorse? It mattered little, as he said; he was just a man with a gun.

Imai looked appalled at the mere suggestion being put forth by Genius. The Bio-Weapons that were in hiding was nothing but brainless monsters by this point and the few biotics that were left from earlier experiments beside her was nothing but a group of mad men they would never agree to fight with them or follow orders.
“That wouldn't be possible. We're talking about mindless creatures and mad men.”
“Give them something to fight and they will come.”
Imai grew silent again. Use them? Could she do that? Was she even ready? Imai said her goodbyes to The Genius and then left the patient room and walked back to her office to think. Her words still repeating in her mind as she thought about something that once upon a time she thought to be beneath her. It bounced around in her head as she returned to her office and fell into her bed at the back closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep but even then The Genius' words,
Give them something to fight and they will come.
was all she could hear.
