This never should have been up for a vote and it never should have been a states issue. I agree with the Republican party as far as, "We can't have 50 different marry laws in 50 different states" but I believe it needs to be amended to allow everyone this basic human right. And to wrap up this issue once and for all,

quit calling it Gay Marriage.

I really think this issue just embarrases Chirstians everywhere... The way I see it yes, an argument CAN be made for why the rules on'marrage' should not be changed (and note I say marrage here specifically, not two people's right to have a legal union with all the benefits that come with the traditional marrage, denying that in my mind can never be justified) as it is a thing that is at its core religious and therefore governed by the rules of said religion. However to do so is entirely hypocritical. Marrage has already massively changed from what it was intended in the bible (and lol at that link whoever posted it). Just look at divorce. These days you can rush into marrage and divorce them before you have even finished paying off the wedding costs, and that's okay? Sorry no, either you stick to your guns on everything, or you accept that terms should be redefined to fit with a changing society. You cant have it both ways. (And for the record, I am neither condoning the idea that you should not have the right to seperate from your spouce, nor am I condoning idiots that rush in and rush out of marrage, simply illustrating a point).

Personally however I can't help but feel if God were as benevolent as he is supposed to be, why would he frown upon gay marrage? We live in an overpopulated world with countless children already here and needing homes, if anything s/he should be pleased that there will be some couples out there not worrying about adding to that problem
