“Yeah. I used to live in Moon Valley in fact but lately I built myself a cabin around here. A lot more peaceful.”
When you weren't fighting off soldiers, ice monsters and the likes but this place was perfect for him. Mainly due to his ability to create and manipulate electrify and ice has always been good for his base element. There was also another reason for the isolation, but that was a story for another time.
“So, tell me more about Spira. Is it that different from life here?”

Yuna came to a stop when Ayen spoke the name of her homeland. How did he know? During the entire course of this conversation Yuna hasn't disclosed that information so how could he know about it? Caution rose in the High Summoner as she now took a couple of steps backwards from the boy and eyed him suspiciously. "How do you know I come from Spira?" Could he be from there? No. If he was he would have recognized her straight away unless he had reason to keep that from her and had slipped up. "Who are you?"

Ayen cursed under his breath once he realized his mistake and turned around to face Yuna trying his very best to look innocent.
“Y-you must have mentioned it.”
Now would be a good time to change the subject before Yuna started asking more questions.
“So, what exactly are you planning to do once you're off the continent? The grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side, you know.”

Yuna shook her head at Ayen's response and stared at him untrusting. "No I didn't. I would have remembered. I refuse to go any further with you until you tell me how you know about Spira!" Yuna was putting her foot down quite literally, that stubbornness slowly beginning to leak out onto the surface once she set her mind on something. Her quest to find any potential lost people of Spira in this world was too great to risk alongside someone who was being dishonest with her and now was his chance to start telling the truth or Yuna would leave him here.

Ayen sighed in defeat.
“You're a stubborn one, aren't ya?”
There was no point to lie anymore. Clearly Yuna was a sharp one and it was insulting of him to think she would fall for such an obvious attempt at concealing the truth from her. He didn't want to muddy things up after semi-gaining her trust so he would be honest from now on.
“All right, Yuna. I'll be frank. On top of creating and manipulating electricity I can read minds. That's how I know you come from Spira.”

"Read minds?" Yuna repeated, feeling up her head with her fingers to see if his mind reading left any permanent damage on her head before a look of anger appeared on her face. It was rare that Yuna was ever angry but having her private thoughts penetrated by a completely stranger and then having it kept from her was a rare thing for the High Summoner. "And just how much of my private thoughts did you read?"

Like a rocket, she fell from the sky. There was no time to stop only to brace for inevitable impact with the ground below. She crashed through snow and ice just north of Ayen and Yuna's current position shaking the ground as she landed. Saturn rose up to her feet, standing at the heart of the large crater created from her landing with the Silence Glaive held closely in her right hand. Tilting her head back, she looked up to the sky to see the birds flying through the air, the suns shinning down on them from above.
The suns?
"So much has changed."
Saturn examined the area around her, looking for anything that struck her as familiar but with no luck. From what she could tell she was standing somewhere in the arctic. Taking a step forward, the Soldier of Silence walked up the crater and looked up ahead at the two people dead ahead.

"Read minds?"
“Yeah, my powers started developing a year ago. It's part of the reason I isolated myself out here in the peace and quiet. All those people surrounding me with their thoughts. It's enough to drive you insane.”
"And just how much of my private thoughts did you read?"
“Hey! I'm not like that. Besides, I can only read thoughts at the forefront of your mind; what you're thinking at that exact moment. I can't go any deeper than that yet.”
And it was unlikely he'd ever want to. There were things he heard already back in Moon Valley that he wish he could forget but at least with Yuna it was all pleasant. Her thoughts didn't make him want to take a drill to his temple. Their conversation would be cut short as something up ahead along their path crashed into the Crystal Expanse and shook the ground.
“What the hell!?”
Ayen could sense another mind up ahead and quickly ran onto the scene, forcing his feet to a quick stop when he saw the woman dressed in a sailor scout outfit with some kind of polearm in her right hand, coming out of the crater without a scratch on her.
“Hey. Are you okay?”

The anger in Yuna quickly subsided and she began to feel sorry for the boy standing across from her. He had to leave his family, his friends because of this ability? The High Summoner felt guilty for reacting in such a way to him previously but would be unable to open her mouth and apologize as something crashed into the ground up ahead on their path to Hallowton. Ayen was quick to run over to the scene, and Yuna moved to stay behind him with her staff at the ready in case whatever crashed proved to be less than friendly. Coming to a stop next to Ayen, Yuna looked at the crater curiously, seeing the female who looked to be only a couple of years younger than herself and at the strange object in her right hand.
"Who are you?"

It did not take the pair a long time to reach her at all, the question however was why the pair was out there to begin with and dressed in clothes that were inadequate against the cold climate. Or were they like her, being able to withstand the cold without needing the wear to accumulate for what their bodies lacked. She studied each briefly with her eyes, the man looking to be legitimately concerned with the state of her welfare while the woman looked more concern if she was a threat to the two of them.
With little time available to her, Saturn would do what she did best: Cut to the chase.
"Saturn."
The Soldier of Silence's eyes moved to gauge both reactions to her name, to see if the Senshi have become better known in the time she was asleep. Prior to her slumber at the hand of Queen Serenity the Senshi's existence on Earth was practically unheard of, with only those of the Golden Kingdom in Elysion knowing anything about them but if her powers have been awakened it meant something drastic has happened to the state of affairs in both the Moon and Earth, and where the Moon was in peril, Earth was never too far behind.
"What is this place?"

“Sa-turn?”
That was a strange name for a girl. Ayen wondered what it meant. All in all it didn't take much to know this person wasn't from around here, assuming the falling from the sky and crashing into the ground dressed like a girl scout who sell cookies didn't tip you off first.
“I'm Ayen and this is Yuna.”
"What is this place?"
“Genesis. More specifically, the Crystal Expanse.”

Yuna didn't think much on the name and bowed her head in greeting like she always did. Looking over to Ayen, the High Summoner debated to herself whether or not she should inform the new arrival that there was a telepath among them who couldn't control his mind reading abilities. Or would he be more honest this time? Deciding not to take any chances, Yuna spoke up, no doubt, to the irritation of Ayen, believing she had the right to know. "He can read minds."

The man, he didn't know what Saturn was? How could that be? Has knowledge taken such a backseat that the people of Earth were now ignorant to the very stars and planets that existed around them? Has things here on Earth really degenerated to such a new low or had this man held his ear up to the snow for too long?
The man introduced himself as Ayen and the woman as Yuna. It was possible that even if the Senshi was well known they wouldn't know much about them beyond their being champions of justice and truth so they were worthless in that aspect but Saturn's eyes would soon flare when Ayen made aware as to her whereabouts.
"This is not Earth?"
Of course that would explain why he knew nothing of Saturn but how far off course did that portal take her? If she wasn't in the same solar system was she even in the same galaxy? Another fact would be brought up to the Soldier of Silence's attention, a fact stated rather bluntly but one Saturn appreciated as Yuna explained to her that the blonde standing in front of her could read minds. If that was the case then further conversation was quite pointless. Lifting up the Silence Glaive, Saturn pointed the tip of its blade directly into his face at point blank and parted her lips–
"Talk."
If he could indeed read minds then he would already know her questions.

"This is not Earth?"
“Afraid not. If you don't have anywhere else to go you can join us. We're on our way to Hallowton; a lot of people from other worlds like yourself has taken refuge there. Perhaps you'll find someone you know?”
There was a possibility, assuming she knew anyone to begin with but allowing Saturn to accompany them was the least they could do.
"He can read minds."
Drake snapped his head over to look at Yuna and glared at her upon her spilling the beans over his telepathy.
“Why you do that for!?”
Ayen would soon find that strange polearm mere inches away from his face, stared down by the eye of the blade as Saturn demanded that he talk no doubt assuming because of his telepathy that he knew which questions to answer, true as that may be it was a little hard to focus with a weapon in your face.
“All right! All right! Just put that thing down.”

Halo Realm In low Earth orbit preparing for drop Lance Corporal JD "Rookie".
The HEV pod was small and compact, with only enough room to sit. This would be his second drop but he didn't care. The squad was assigned to Captain Elizabeth Dare, a ONI operative. The squadmates were suprised not by this, but the armor she wore. One even had claimed he wasn't checking out her gear. He smirked beneath his helmet and his heart jumped as Sgt. Buck's voice made itself known over the Com system.
"Marines, we are green and very..very mean!"
A green light shone in the pod that signaled the drop. His stomach lurched with free fall as they fell. Soon they were in atmosphere, passing several wrecked and mangled ships on the way down. Rookie knew Romeo was going to say something and surely enough... he did.
"I stand corrected.... the Navy got their butts kicked"
"Hey Romeo, remember when I told you to shut up?"
"Well consider it a standing order"
Rookie chuckled quietly and shook his head. Romeo, oh Romeo... have to be a goofball... don't you Romeo? It was smooth and quiet then on the trip... until an unexpected flash of blinding light caused him to shut his eyes tightly. The comms turned to static and he felt oddly alone for some reason. The ride became rough and jolted forward from impact. Quickly he disengaged the hatch and stepped out into the cold white sands of Africa.... wait..... Africa was not cold. Neither was sand there white. This was snow!!. Whatever happened, that flash of light blew him off course bigtime... wonderful He looked around and saw figures ahead and fetched his sub-machine gun just in case.
