Aper
Name: Aper
Aliases: The Arashi
Age: 5 128
Gender: Male
Species:Undisclosed supernatural entity
Alignment: None
Canon or Original:Original from Ajerian Wars
Date of Birth: Precise date unknown – before the fall of the ancient Castillian Empire in the world of Argil.
Place of Birth: Castillian Empire, Argil.
Personality: Aper is a being of retribution. This fact defines everything about what had once been a man of the ancient Argilian world. Having served as Inanis’ right hand for well over five millennia, Aper is fully aware of his role at his master’s side as an instrument of fate and has utmost confidence in his abilities and the purpose he serves. Having since lost his humanity, Aper only recalls vague memories of his time as a mortal man; his contact with Inanis sapped the better part of his humanity along with his emotions and feelings. Since his creation as the Arashi, the divine tempest, Aper has no goal in life but to ensure balance if kept.
Physical Appearance: While he may initially look human, the metamorphosis also manifested itself physically – due to the immense power inhabiting Aper, his muscles were defined to the epitome of their form, his build more closely resembling the perfection of an ancient Greek statue rather than that of a human being. His skin gained an almost lifeless tone whilst the scars of countless battles marked his skin along with the ancient tattoos of his mortal life. His hair turned jet black before changing into shapeless tendrils and an unnatural blue light replaced the colour of his eyes. Eventually, even his features disappeared, only to be replaced by a faceless mask of metal and stone. This combines to give Aper a seemingly decayed appearance. Most offsetting of all, however, is the manifestation of Aper’s own power which appears as unnatural wraps of shreds constantly swirling around him in an supernatural wind. For clothing, Aper favours sparse armour components that cover his torso and parts of his legs while his arms are covered in bounds – allowing him an unencumbered freedom of movements. The shreds of metal are highly decorated with ancient Castillian symbols. Coupled with mid-length black torn rags that fall at his knees, Aper’s attire give him a uniquely frightening and mystical appearance.
Special Abilities: Aper’s abilities transcend any notion of what can be defined as humanly possible. After being subjected to Inanis’ influence, what had once been a man was twisted into a puppet shaped for nothing else but battle. Through the process in which Inanis initially tapped within Aper’s life-force to compel him to his will, Aper’s power became incredibly volatile. Over the millennia, this initiated a gradual change within Aper’s body so as to accommodate its mandate as an instrument of death – his organs became entirely composed of raw infinite energy, which he eventually learned to manipulate at will. Because of this, all of Aper’s physical attributes have been enhanced beyond their natural capacity. He can change his physical form to create weapons to attack his enemies, generate armour to defend himself, and take on the appearance of another person to disguise himself. Because Aper possesses no mouth, he speaks directly into the mind of those he wishes to communicate with – this particular form of telepathy often results in Aper unwillingly drive his interlocutor to hallucinate. Due to his constitution, Aper possesses vast regenerative capabilities, as well as much greater durability than any human being. He can survive falls from any height, bullets of any calibre pass through his body, causing virtually no damage. Even direct hits from the strongest attack will only momentarily stun him, as Aper’s power will enable him to heal within moments. Aper’s power is a double-edge sword however; extended use of his abilities will render them increasingly unstable. Extremely powerful magical abilities may also minimize Aper’s constant energy output to minimize the potency of his abilities.
Weapons: When the king’s murderer came into the world as a vessel of death, another being accompanied him; The Arashi. For most of the past eon, many people believed that such a creature existed: A vengeful, wrathful spirit possessing such power that entire cities were left as nothing but dust in its passing. Whenever balance was threatened by the power of certain nobles, kings and Demons, The Arashi would always come with its master to cleanse the world. Rumour even had it that the Arashi laid waste to an entire nation that once existed where the glass desert of Néwà is today. Like Inanis however, the Arashi eventually disappeared. While mortal man, Ajerians, Demons and even gods forgot how these events actually transpired so long ago, none of them forgot the image of the Arashi: A great shadow, shaped in the form of a man wielding two great swords, one fabled to have cleaved the great Mount Ondar, the other supposedly stained with the blood of the dead of all ages past… and empty, piercing blue stars for eyes. However terrifying, it never attempted to destroy those who wished to forget it—it simply waited, beyond the reach of all but its master for its next orders. It waited, and waited until it was eventually forgotten by all.
…but now that creature revealed itself again.
The two blades the Arashi wield hold nearly as much of a legendary status as the beast itself, and with good reason, as they have been created along side their dark master. Much like Aper himself, the true name of the swords have all been but forgotten. One thing is certain in the tales where these weapons have been used however – and that is how they are conduits of the Arashi’s unfathomable power.

History: Aper Arashi was born Khnumhotepamun-re in the ancient kingdom of the Castillian Empire. Unlike most of the populace, he was born within the walls of the royal palace – and the favours of the royal family. Privileged at a young age with higher education, he was quickly hand-picked by the King to learn under the tutelage of his closest advisors to eventually become his own personal emissary. Few other children were picked to serve similar purposes; the circle that consisted of the royal family’s closest councillors believed that youth raised to achieve specific purposes would eventually be more efficient at their task than their less adequately-trained elders. Years passed where they studied manuscripts, politics, and warfare together – but eventually the subjects branched out and became more specific, ending their conjoined learning, and assigning them to individual mentors. Khnumhotep’s was an Ajerian named Elysion.
Elysion was a mysterious Ajerian, gifted with immense understanding and powers even for one of his species. Arix himself would have it that his future emissary and the Ajerian be bonded, trusting that the mystical abilities instilled upon Elysion would teach his agent knowledge, power and purpose towards the Empire. While the relationship between the Ajerian and his protégé was initially calm at best, it quickly became one of quiet reverence. Khnumhotep awed the Ajerian’s very nature whilst Elysion developed a great respect for the man’s hunger for knowledge and life. It wasn’t long before Elysion bid him to follow in various excursions across the borders of the Empire, and into unknown territories. He learned from the experience of travel and keen observation of different tribes, sometimes even from battle and survival. Months could pass between returns to the kingdom but eventually the call to duty would always take Khnumhotepamun-re away from the affairs of the city. More than a decade flew by in such a manner until his passage into adulthood, and his acquisition of the title of Royal Emissary. Under his advice along with his peers that had made it through their training, the Castillian kingdom prospered and grew to become a great Empire, respected and feared even across the seas. The vision of King Arix could not have been more accurate, and Khnumhotepamun-re’s merit any greater. The deities smiled upon the young advisor for years until he became an experienced and valued member of the royal core.
Elysion at his side through all of these years, the two’s relationship evolved from one of mentor and student to equals. The Ajerian and Khnumhotep shared a common way of thinking, which in turn enabled the emissary to benefit from the mystical advice of his ally. It became a powerful tool in leading the kingdom to new heights, but eventually Elysion’s knowledge of the future became dim, until it eventually vanished completely with the foretelling of the Blood Moon… A great calamity. Despite this, the king would not halt his quest for dominance. It was only after years leading the Empire into a new era of glory that the unthinkable happened; Arix’ influence became too vast. Nations fell at his knees like flies; his shadow began to spread across the land, threatening to engulf all who opposed him. He became mad with his own power. Then it came, one week before the Blood Moon – the great darkness Inanis.
Initially none had realized the king’s life was in peril, however as soon as the palace’s walls were breached it all became evident: Once it began its march, no amount of men, Ajerian or god could stop the solitary figure from advancing towards the throne. Impatient, Arix ordered his entire empire to stand down and witness their lord take arms for the first time in centuries. The assailant would follow upon the castle’s roof top before beginning their fight. The initial clash shook the capital to its foundations, creating a tremor that could be felt across the land and even across the seas. Despite the volatility of their encounter, the battle endured for hours on end. Eventually the hours transcended into days: Days where the Castillian Empire trembled in the awe of its king battling against an enemy of equal proportions – if not greater. Many fled. Many of those that didn’t died. Many of those loyal to the throne tried to help in vain, only to be vaporised by the sheer violence of the two powers. The capital in ruins, one truth came to fruition with the nearing of the Blood Moon’s zenith; Arix would lose. The power of the king, once brighter than the sun and all the stars of the night sky, was beginning to dwindle on the dawn of the blood moon, on the seventh day of war with Inanis. In their current state, those left in the capital could do nothing to halt the catastrophe. That is when Elysion and Khnumhotep decided to act. Little did they know by then Arix had made his last and ultimate mistake against Inanis: Within seconds of each other, the king had died and Khnumhotepamun-re made the ultimate sacrifice, giving up part of his humanity by stabbing himself in the heart. There, Elysion shredded himself from his corporeal image and began to meld with his life-long friend. Inanis reacted to the enjoinment like a beacon and came on the scene in an instant. Tapping within the lifeforce with his insatiable power, Inanis disrupted the bonding... the violently distorted process began to overflow with a constant, and violent energy output. A blue-white scar ripped open the skies before a thunderous explosion shook the city for the final time. The Blood Moon stood as a singular witness to the events that transpired. This night marked the death of Khnumhotepamun-re, and the birth of the Arashi; the storm of fate – Inanis’ right hand, Aper.
