a soft wind blew through the crystal expanse and seemed to fold itself around the pair. with a twirl of her fingers, a chair appeared and the taller female sat down and crossed a leg over her knee. the female at her feet was completely out cold and bound with bright red ribbon. a light grin came over her face as the goddess settled her hands in her lap. the young would have received a letter, one that told him exactly where she was. so what if it was old fashioned, she wanted him to come rushing in. of course he would be worried about his love especially when she listed horribly graphic things the goddess was going to do to her. at her feet the young girl stirred, and the goddess gave her a swift kick to the head. ugly little girl. how dare this brat hold his attention. eyes roaming over the expanse, she finally settled on nothing and simply stared. this should be quite fun!

fingers twirling, the red seemed to completely stand out in the white of the snow. tail swishing behind her, the goddess closed her eyes. long blood red hair shifted slightly in the wind and her ears swiveled to catch the sounds around them. perhaps she should have dressed a little better, but why not give him a little taste of what he would be with for the rest of his life. the goddess looked like something out of pin up poster. the black cloak the hung at her shoulders hardly covered her outfit. if it could even be called that. pale grey eyes fluttered open,the goddess sighed and shifted in her chair. she was growing impatient. this child was taking to long to get here. from beside her, a beast let out a low snarl. "oh shut up you stupid mutt." the goddess snarled and there was a flash of light causing the beast to be slammed into the ground. a chain appeared around the creature's neck and the end was in the hand of the goddess. for a second, the once brilliant blue of the beast's eyes shined through the red, but with a forceful tug it vanished completely.

"my prize will come to me and he will join my collection as one of my most prized dolls!" the goddess giggled like a little girl as she shifted in her chair again letting her legs hang off the side. that boy was very cute and she wanted him in her collection where he could live forever. she already had a complete replica of him. it was crafted perfectly to look like him, but it would allow her to control him. another giggle rolled from her as her hand gripped the chain. the beast beside her chair settled on the ground resting its head on it's paws. should the goddess feel bad about turning her best friend into a mindless puppet? probably, but she couldn't care less. one of her soldiers had reported the boy had gathered a friend so why not bring one of her own? an evil grin crossed over her as she ran her claws over the chair. the boy would come rushing in like a white knight to save his love. how cute! too bad his efforts would be in vain. she knew all about him and had come up with all kinds of fun things for him to do.

A solitary figure trekked across the frozen wasteland of the Crystal Expanse, marching towards what would surely be his doom. He'd received a letter anonymously telling him of Eva's capture, and naturally he dashed off. His normal smiling face and carefree eyes were grim set and hard now, a fire burning within his soul. His duel disc was strapped to his arm, rapier bouncing gently at his side as his boots trudged along, striking forcefully at the hard packed earth. A myriad of thoughts and emotions swirled around his head, guilt and anger driving him forth to meet this new evil, to face it head on and crush it with every bit of power he could muster from his body. As he rose above the hill he'd been climbing, his crimson eyes fell upon the designer of his torment. However, he had no care for her, but for the form at her feet. "Eva!" he cries out, sliding down the hill to remain a safe distance away.

His crimson eyes flashed upwards to the woman who had done this to her, and his rage boiled over, the air around him heating up. "Release her now, or I swear it'll be your end. We've done nothing to you, you've no reason to hurt her!" he roars out, hands clenching into fists by his side. His eyes fell on Eva, and the fires of anger died down within him, his face softening, a deep and terrible grief settling on his features. "I'm so sorry Eva, please, just hold on. You'll be alright, I promise." he whispers softly, before turning his glare back on the woman before them. "I'll give you this one chance to let her go, or else I'm gonna take you down!" he roars out, duel disc activating and extending along his arm, leveled in front of him, hand ready to draw his cards and start in on a battle where the stakes were all or nothing. He had no room for error here, he couldn't afford to lose this battle, and he wasn't about to. For Eva's sake, he'd sacrifice everything to protect her.

ears swiveling on her head, the female caught the sound of shoes on snow. oh he was finally here! what fun! just as she had thought, he came rushing down the hillside hell bent on saving eva. how adorable! a mischievous grin crossed over the goddess as she got up and her chair disappeared completely. barely visible threads extended from her claws and wrapped around eva lifting her up in the air. "you don't like what I did with her? she even has a nice little bow on her." the goddess grinned walking forward a little bit, her tail swishing behind her in a very cat like manner. he spewed something about taking her down and the goddess couldn't help but laugh. this boy really felt strongly for this little girl. how sad that he would never get to be with her again after this. "what do you see in an ugly girl like this anyways?" the goddess growled slashing her claws at eva's cheek. red lines appeared and blood dripped from the claw marks.

attention turning back to the boy, her pale grey eyes fell on him. "how about we make a deal sosuke. you come with me and become one of my dolls and then I'll release your love. what do you think? I'd treat you very well and take proper care of you. not to mention you would live forever if I kept remaking your doll." eyes alight, the female rocked on her toes a bit smiling. this would be fun. she was almost positive he would give her a bit of a fight. if he gave in right away that would also be a plus. she wouldn't have to waste her time making a perfectly useless doll. eyes drifting to the female she held in ribbon, she did have an ace up her sleeve though. "you see sosuke. you are perfect to join my collection! I knew I couldn't get your attention any other way. so when I ran into this ugly little being I knew I could draw you to me. now do I have to drag you kicking and screaming or will you come quietly?" her grin turned malicious as her claws moved a little bit to make eva dance in air.

His eyes flash with a terrible rage as she slashes Eva's cheek and his hand flashes across to the top of his deck, drawing his cards. Faster than any normal eye could follow, two cards flash facedown on his duel disc and a monster shimmered into life, given physical form by the unique power he held. "GO BLAST MAGICIAN!" he roars out, and it launched an explosion Torrie's way, careful to avoid blasting Eva. As his monster suddenly occupied Torrie, he dashed forward, drawing his rapier out in a flare of brilliant silver, slashing through the threads that held her, catching her as she fell, and sliding past Torrie. He carefully lays her down, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. He smiles softly at her before raising to face Torrie.

"You're nothing but a spoiled child with too much power, and you think it gives you the right to do whatever you wish to whoever you want. I will not let this stand. As for what I see in her, I see beauty and compassion, unwavering faith and loyalty and true love. All I see in you is ugliness, hatred and jealousy. You will pay for your actions, to me, and to all those you've ever tormented." he says softly, raising his head, a glare of defiance on his face as he set his feet, lifting his duel disc to the ready, holding three remaining cards in his hand. "Now, come and see if you can take me. Because I'm about to show you that you need more than power and a sense of entitlement to get through life. So, Let's Duel!" he says with a light grin, remembering the much lighter days that phrase left his lips. Now, it seemed every duel was a fight for his life. Mahad appeared by his side, unseen by everyone else, and rested his hand on Sosuke's shoulder. "Have faith, you can win this Sosuke. Trust in yourself, and in the heart of the cards. We're all with you." he says softly as a chorus of ghostly words emanate from his deck, and he smiled, reassured by the friends he had with him. They wouldn't let him down.

his attacks did nothing and she didn't even flinch when there was an explosion in her face. a giggle came from her as he stole away one of her dolls instead of eva. obviously he didn't get the whole he can't have her yet. "if you don't play by the rules then you shouldn't play at all." a dark look crossed over her as eva still hung in the air beside her. the beast that remained behind her stirred ever so slightly, but didn't get up. "I am a child you say? huh." the goddess looked at the boy with blank eyes. raising her claws to point at the young boy, a twisted grin crossed over her face. "you talk too much boy. perhaps I'll sew your mouth shut." pointed canines slipped passed her lips as she grinned at him. there was a small flash of light that came from her bell and two beings came into existence. one was a giant teddy bear, but this wasn't one you wanted to cuddle. with black fur and spikes this bear looked as if it could tear you apart. the other was a twisted bunny rabbit. it's mouth was sewn shut and giant claws came from it's hands.

the two were big enough to block sosuke's view of the goddess. which was good because she had work to do. claws moving with inhuman speed, she grabbed eva and threw her on the ground. the ribbons moved off eva's body and wrapped around her neck to create a big black bow. flexing her claws, she plunged them into eva's chest with a twisted grin on her face. the young girl let out a horrible scream that faded off into a whimper. black markings swirled from the claw marks and engulfed the young girl. eva let out another scream before it cut off into complete silence. when the goddess stepped through her two animals, a brilliant grin was on her face. "meet my newest doll! isn't she pretty!" the goddess stepped to the side and out walked eva, but it wasn't eva. her eyes were completely white and there were black markings that covered her body. the young girl's mouth was completely sewn shut and she had a big black bow around her neck now. the goddess waled over to her and placed a hand on eva's cheek. "isn't she precious? come with me and I'll return her to her original form."

the goddess turned back to the young boy and she ran her tongue over her lips. "try not to hurt his face." the words were soft, but both animals twitched and charged at sosuke. eva raised her guns and fired off two energy shots straight at sosuke, while the animals charged his cards. let the toys play for a while. she would keep eva by her side and let it slowly eat away at him. how would he fair in a fight against his love? would he be able to kill her if she was trying to kill him? the goddess grinned and her tail swished behind her. she wasn't afraid to send eva directly at sosuke. "I wonder how long you'll last young boy. perhaps I'll keep you in my bed at night." the last part ended in a giggle and her bell chimed softly. the teddy bear let out a roar as it attacked his cards with the rabbit.

Torrie would soon realize her mistake if she could look past her own madness for even a brief moment. Sosuke's eyes flashed once, and he didn't even flinch at the bullets. His rage which had burned as hot as the sun a moment before now ran like ice through his veins. He had failed her, he had failed to protect the woman he loved, and now all he could do was avenge her. The words of the mad queen were lost on his ears as a roar so deep and primal ripped from his throat. Deep within his core, something snapped, and a flood of power was unleashed. Dark energies erupted from his body as he continued to scream, black flames that burned with an unholy radiance. Time slowed as his body lit up, and his eyes locked onto Torrie as the fires burned within him.

"You will pay." he whispers softly, not caring if she heard him or not. Time sped up, and he revealed his face down trap card, Magic Cylinder. It shimmered into being and redirected her attack, hurtling it right back at her as the shadows engulfed them. A dark laugh issued forth from his throat as his magician destroyed her two toys, it's armour no longer red, but blackened with the shadows. "Welcome to the Shadow Realm. The stakes are much higher here." he says with a laugh, hand drawing a new card, placing two more face downs, and activating twin spells. "I activate the spell cards Pot of Greed and Graceful Charity. I draw five, and discard two. he says, doing so and sending two cards to the graveyard. He had five cards in his hand now, and he smiled at her. "I'm going to take great pleasure in putting you in your place." he says, laying three cards face down and summoning a new monster, the Skilled Dark Magician. With four face downs and two monsters on the field, he was ready to take the fight to her.

the female simply blinked and brushed off his attack. so he was a duelist. she hadn't played against one of those in a very very long time. looks like she'd be seeing some magicians again. spell cards, magicians, couldn't he just fight her without the use of his pathetic little cards. when his magician destroyed her bear and bunny, a mischievous grin crossed over her. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." the two stuffed animals simply fell apart on the ground, but seconds later they were stitching themselves back up and this time there was two bears and two bunnies. if she put effort into her stuffed animals and made them correctly, when one died two would rise from it's place. if he was smart he'd figure it out soon enough. she let her eyes travel over to eva as her nails drummed at her side. so he was pissed off now that she had turn his love into a puppet. very interesting. human reactions were very interesting especially when they involved the matters of love.

"boy let me tell you something. you won't be putting anyone in their place. your cards and magicians mean nothing because in the end you are mine." the goddess laughed as more stuffed animals made themselves known on the field. one in particular was one of her favorites called the marionette. it looked like a twisted sort of doll but two long blades replaced its hands. with a tug of her threads, everyone attacked him at once. her stuffed animals went for his monsters while eva and the marionette went for him directly. eye roaming the darkness that seemed to now cover them, the goddess sighed. the shadow realm? it had been a while since she had visited the shadow realm. the last time she was here the duelist she was with died a horrible death. perhaps she would kill this one off and turn him into a mindless slave instead. from behind her, the beast stirred and came to her side. "care to join in the fray my dear kristyne? you can play so long as he remains in one piece." the goddess grinned and let her claws run through the animal's fur.
