“Utena, wait!”
June began to make chase after Utena but was stop at the window when the door came swinging open and her father stood out in the hallway.
“What the hell is all this noise in here!?” he asked.
June didn't want to get Utena in anymore trouble than she was already in and so she came up with a lie and fast,
“I was sleep walking.”
“Sleep walking?”
“I'm sorry I woke you it won't happen again.”
“See that it doesn't. And close that window before you let all the cold air in!”
June's father closed the door and June could only breathe in an air of relief that her father was too tired to investigate any further than what he has done. Turning around, June said beneath her breath,
“Forgive me, Dad.”
before climbing out of the window and down the tree to begin her pursuit of Utena. |
