The citizens of Jherra
liked Christmas a lot
but the witch that lived in Utopia
she did not
“Bah Humbug!” she cried
saying the wrong lines
“Christmas is coming
It's practically time”
She looked down at Jherra
gritting her teeth
remembering all the times
she was robbed of this day
unlike the rest of the girls and boys that laughed and played
“I never had stockings, presents or joy
I never had Christmas in any way, shape or form”
Maricul growled, her hate growing fast
“If only they knew their childhood wouldn't last”
Rubbing her chin she thought to herself,
“I must stop Christmas from coming!”
But how was unknown
Then in her wisdom that old witch with a crooked smile
had an awful, yet stunning, idea come to mind
An idea so vicious none dare say the words
“I know, yes I know, just what will do the trick”
She laughed in her throat
and reached back deep in her tower
“I'll make a hat and a coat
and look just like Saint Nick!”
You're a mean one,
Maricul,
you really are a whore!
You're as cuddly as Arashi
you're as charming as Mariya,
Maricul,
you must have purchase your morals at
the 99 cents store!
Maricul slip out to Jherra
in her clever disguise
taking away all the gifts
from the girls and the boys
To Hallowton she rode
a grin on her face
replacing the queen's crown with hay
a cruel joke it would make
Isafaro saw no favor
as she swept through the night
taking away their generators
so they'd be cold through the night
To Jherrazad and Moon Valley
did that old witch then went
not even her own sister
would be spared any expense
Last but not least
was her least favorite place
Aircano, her home
it was such an awful place
Left a foul taste in her mouth
she hated it so
for it was the reason her heart was so cold
As she stole all the gifts
that old witch would hear a sound
belonging to a girl named Miracle
no more than twelve
“Why, Santa? Why?”
did the child ask
“Why are you taking all of our toys?”
But that Maricul was crafty
when times were rough
She thought of a lie
and quickly, no doubt
“My dear sweet child,”
she said with a smile
“there was a mix up you see,
at the shop I run
these gifts were not for you but someone else
I'll take these back to their proper place
then come back with your gifts, you'll see,
just wait”
Miracle was fooled
by such a clever trick
and off to bed she went
none the wiser to this monster
Maricul returned to her tower
by Christmas morning waiting in glee
for what she no doubt would hear
“I can just see it now,”
she said with delight
“All the citizens down below
will be shocked to find
that there will be no Christmas, no,
not this time”
Maricul put a hand to her ear
and listened for a sound
it came soon you could imagine,
right on cue, no sooner
it started off small
but then grew much bigger
But it was not a sound
that came with much sorrow
instead it was a sound
quite pleasing to hear
The people of Jherra
stood hand in hand
smiling and singing like they did every year
Christmas was not ruined
it came all the same
but, “How! Tell me how!” did the witch proclaim
“It came without ribbons,
it came without toys
why would they be singing without any toys!?”
Then Mari had a thought
that she didn't before
maybe Christmas itself didn't come from a store
it came deep inside, the heart one would say
something not stopped by such wicked ways
“I never needed presents when I was a girl”
No Christmas meant something much, much more
And what happened next
well in Jherra they say
Maricul's small heart grew three sizes that day
Without any delay the witch grabbed her sledge
sliding down to Jherra where there were no time to shed
she brought back the presents,
she brought back the toys,
she brought back the candy, the stockings, the bulbs
She brought everything back, much joy in her heart
and Maricul, the witch herself, stood hand in hand with the rest
singing Christmas carols, like a family,
you'd bet
liked Christmas a lot
but the witch that lived in Utopia
