They're making ANOTHER Superman movie?
I'll give them credit, they actually manage to make the Superman outfit look decent. Before it always been a bright blue and red mess that I couldn't see anyone wearing and being taken seriously.

Yes! That's Henry Cavill in the iconic red and blue Superman outfit. www.imdb.com/title/tt0770828/The movie is currently filming, around the same time at The Dark Knight Rises, and is directed by Zack Snyder who so far has done a great job at keeping things true to the comic books. Some interesting names has already been announced for the cast like Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves) as Jonathan Kent, Christopher Meloni (Law & Order SVU) as a Colonel and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

lol so what's the plot? Clark Kent has to enter the Matrix but is then charged with rape and gets Detective Stabler breathing down his neck and has to face the Gladiator to escape?

It's an origin story and will have Zod coming to town. The rest is just wild speculation from fans as they haven't released much details on the plot and I prefer it that way. There's already some friction from people about the casting. Like hiring a black guy to play a white character (although I never seen the problem with that because they're fictional to begin with) and having a British actor playing Superman.
It's silly. People are silly.

Zod? Didn't we already do Zod like a million times now?
Give some of the other Superman villains a chance, movie. Jeez.

Christopher Nolan, creator of the new Batman movies and Inception, is working on the story of this one too with David S. Goyer. With the writers behind the new Batman movies also working on Superman there's a good chance, yet still unlikely, that there will be a World's Finest movie if this one does well.
Though with the Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy coming to an end in 2012 he may opt to have his Batman end there and not have the crossover movie. Which would suck. I think that movie would be great for the WB and DC and is a lot more likely than say a Justice League movie.
Also props to Henry Cavill for actually being built for the part. I don't think any of the other Supermans actually had muscles.

Nolan's working on it? Superman is gunna gargle thumb tacks and be a dick? Zod's going to actually be nothing like his original comic book counterpart, have lame facial scars, and everyone is gunna overhype him? Seriously though, Nolan is the only guy I know of who looked at Leo DiCaprio, licked his lips, and whispered "I have to go deeper". I'm looking forward to this movie, I wanna see if it'll actually be as good as I (and many other people) hope it would be. Snide dumbassery on my part aside I'm a big fan of superman, and will back the man of steel NO MATTER WHAT!
