So, I've been doing a lot of brainstorming as of late for said future plots to give others a chance to do more. Here's some I have in mind that I wanted to bring up:
First One: Old Gods: I was thinking a character could awaken an old god or a being that loathes humanity and this person finds a way to unleash old gods from different cultures who realized they have been abandoned by their followers. Naturally, they are going to be pretty fucking pissed off.
What Will Happen:
1) Anyone can play said old god of their choice to contribute. However there is an exception to this: the old god has to have a weakness or a way to be appeased that just about anyone can look up in tomes or on the internet. Once said item is found and used, the god will either be destroyed or no longer see a reason to be angry since a ritual has been completed. If there is nothing in history about a god having a weakness, then they should come up with one that other players can find. My goal in this plot is to have anyone, even a normal human, be capable of putting these angry gods to rest.
2) For finding weaknesses, I'm thinking of playing surroundings for people while they look or the one playing the god can do it if they wish. Say, for example, they are in a cave with a lot of artifacts and they are seeking what will appease an old god. I'll be fair in this and allow everyone in the thread to find something related. I was thinking of making this a DnD sort of event where the numbers are 1-6 and I'll roll dice. It depends on what people want in this. Naturally, I won't be playing a major role in this part unless someone else takes the wheel and I can put a character of mine in. Bear in mind that the weakness will not be available right away so the person playing a god can have a chance to cause mayhem. It wouldn't be fair to them to suddenly go "Oh, here it is. *Zap*". Let them have their fun.
Big Rules:
1) The god cannot be indestructible because of the items that will put it to rest/kill it. If you pick a god you have to stick with a list of powers and don't surprise people with something new that's not on the list. A god has set abilities as it is. Remember, once their weakness is found, it's game over for that god.
2) PM me with a god you have an interest in playing. If it's one that exists, send me wiki articles and if you need help coming up with a weakness, I will most certainly help you out. I shall post a list of the gods that are taken as a sticky.
3) The most gods that will be let out at a time are four. That's enough for some people to sign up for one and for groups of people who role play together to begin their quest to get rid of this specific god. If anyone has a different idea for this, do share--this is meant for the whole forum.
Second One: Story Books/ Legends: The idea I have in mind for this is anyone can create characters to relive or be a part of ancient legends. Arthurian Legend can be an example. I'm actually going to be bringing in Morgana at some point.
What Will Happen:
1) Anyone can bring in a story of their preference. It can be Lord of the Rings, it can be R.A. Salvatore's works (Legend of Drizzt, Highwayman, etc.) or just about any Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Fiction that anyone can think of that's fairly well known. I'd like to do one at a time so it's not everywhere. If someone is hosting their own story, then yeah, more than one is perfect.
2) The way it'll come to life is portals are going to suddenly be popping up after someone casts a strange spell on texts. People can only exit said portals if they complete a task that's at hand in these stories. For example, let's say Morgana is trying to kill Arthur again. You have to stop her so he can continue to be king. The stories won't be the same and if people want them to continue as they should, they have to find a way to keep the timeline going.
3) Powers are going to be severely nerfed. I mean, really nerfed. If you are, say, a vampire or a demon, you'll become a creature of this world if you were to be in, say, Arthurian legend. However, since you had powers from where you are from, you can be a sorcerer or some other creature of magic if you'd prefer to not be human. Either way, you are stuck in a role from this story's legend. Bear in mind I'm just using an example. Point is, whatever story you go into, you can only be what's available in terms of species, abilities, magic and so on.
4) Again, whoever is hosting a story will be in charge of scenery and NPCs. What the people decide to do will give ideas as to what the issue at hand will be. Think of it like dragon age: what you do will affect the outcome. If someone wants to make it a joint effort, do feel free.
5) If you die in this world, you'll just be teleported out. If you want to return, someone will have to find a way to resurrect your fallen body within five minutes time or you are out for the rest of the story. So, if someone has a killing blow from something, don't worry, your character won't die permanently in the original world.
Note: Any feedback or ideas to contribute would be fantastic. Again this is for the forum or anyone who wants to be part of a plot. If anyone wants to help out I'd greatly appreciate it. And if anyone wants to contribute a plot idea different from what I shared, bring it up. Let's get some ideas out there so everyone can be a part of something!
