Saiyan Skin: Saiyans were designed by the old god of war to have tough, hard to penetrate, skin. It is evidenced to be able to stop a normal bullet easy enough. Only the sharpest blades and deep penetrating bullets can hope to cut or puncture Broly's skin.
Saiyan Strength: To make the ultimate warrior, the old god of war gave the Saiyans their trademark brutality and ruthlessness backed by incredible strength. As Broly is the strongest saiyan (in this universe) almost any obstacle can be easily overcame with brute force. The strongest metals will be dented by Broly's punches in his base form, punctured in his super saiyan form, and completely torn to shreds in his legendary form. Speed is also a result of his strength allowing him to leave his image behind and dodge nearly any attack that comes his way.

Broly's history, the Broly of this universe that is, starts with the Saiyan God by the name of Rathos, a former god of Genesis. He often fought against them, and was envious of them for countless reasons. For this reason he left Genesis to create a planet of his own. In fact the new planet was relatively similar to Genesis while only two times smaller. Upon this planet he created a human-like race known as the Saiyans. His isolation from the other gods made him insane. He formulated a plan to wipe out the other Gods along with all other life to force the Creator to start anew.
To bring this plan into working order, he let his race roam and and multiply on his world for a thousand years. The next step was to draw in a meteor big enough to erase all evidence of life on his world. The meteor would strike many years later after the third step had completed. This third step would cause Rathos to fade from existance. It involved injecting his already fading being into the womb of a Saiyan virgin. Causing Broly to be born months later. When Broly was born, he used the rest of his power to fuse himself with the baby Saiyan. This would have a sound impact on his sanity later on.
Broly's mortality was completely enveloped by Rathos's power and washed away, leaving behind a minor God at the least. Rathos's plan was thrown into action then when the meteor came 20 years later. The thought of losing everything pushed Broly over the edge and became the first super saiyan. In his rage however, he did more harm than good. He could not stop the meteor and was swept into space by the meteor's impact. For many decades he slept in the vastness in space, until Genesis's gravity pulled him to its surface. Now on land, he was still in deep hibernation.
An old, nameless wise man from Aircano found Broly, and fashioned a restictor device for him when he realized Broly's potential threat. The device took form of a crown and kept him from reaching the full potential of his super saiyan form let alone his legendary form. It also restricted his speech and thought except for whatever the person holding the controlling device chose. Noone can destroy it except Broly, but broly would have to go beyond resisting, however this can alter his sanity negatively.
After the Old Man made Broly's crown, he took Broly's sleeping body, and put it in a lost underground temple in an unknown location.. waiting for someone to wake him.
