((Thread is open to all. Dear first replier, feel free to be the cause of the footprints and if you're feeling creative enough, cause of the murder. Or you can just inquire to what a bunch of teenagers are doing following footprints in the middle of night in a forest. Up to you.))

Tori held up her magnifying glass to the footsteps found in the forest. 24 hours ago a murder took place in this very forest and nobody could figure out what had happened. The police investigation wrote it off as an animal attack but Tori had a gut feeling that it was something else entirely. She couldn’t explain it, the redhead just knew that something else was afoot here so naturally she came to investigate. And brought all her friends along for the ride.
“Can we go now?”
“Not yet.”
“But….”
“I said not yet!”
“What’s the matter, Mary? You aren’t scared are you?”
“It’s not that! I just don’t think we should be here at night where a killing happened. Especially not with June here she’s only---”
“Two years younger than the rest of you and can handle herself just fine, thank you very much. Besides someone has to make sure my brother stays out of trouble. Isn’t that right?”
Shinta, who stuck out from the group by being a male who looked so much like a female, stuck his tongue out at his younger sister in reply before looking back to Tori who was still hunch down examining those footprints. Nex walked over to Mary and put an arm around her in a lame, macho attempt, to comfort her.
“Don’t worry, Mary I’ll protect you.”
“I feel so much safer already,” she replied sarcastically.
Nex stepped away from Mary and then started to act like he was dying.
“Sarcasm! My one true weakness! How you know?”
Nex fell down to the ground and acted like he was dead. Shinta, Lily and June shared a laugh while Mary only shook her head and Tori was too wrapped up in the investigation to really care. Shinta walked over to Nex and kicked him.
“Get up!”
“Hey what are you doing? Let just leave him there.”
Nex stood up and held his arms up high.
“I LIVE!”
“Shh!”
Everyone looked back over to Tori who started following the mysterious looking footprints.
“Oi, Tori what are you---?”
“Shh!”
“Heh! You just got shush by a girl.”
Lily smacked Nex over the back of his bald head.
“What was that?”
“Nothing, sir!”
“Looks like she found something.”
“Well then what are we waiting for?”
Jun ran past the others and then looked back at them.
“Let follow her!”
The gang all followed behind Tori who tracked down the footsteps to find….
