I assumed something about this ritual. I think I might have been wrong. What did you assume? Well now this is rather confusing. I thought something initially (regarding the summoning of a certain Giant-Squid) but then believed that Clash was deliberately leading me into assuming as such, leading me to a different conclusion, and with that last post I am now back to thinking he is about to go squid my ass. I mean, I'm all for it either way; it's merely seperating my theories between two outcomes. Edit: Someone should annex Cthulu in here. |

Cthulu...or the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
I've been thinking it's a banishment of some sort, personally. Medivh was the one that connected two planes together in order to brings Orcs from Draenor to the human world. Cthulu, as I recall, was fairly easy to summon, not needing four of the most powerful magi in history to do it, unless they wanted to control him. The fact that the area was cleared first however indicates to me that they don't need to worry about Cthulu going crazy and killing everyone, because it'll just be Clash and Veran. Another quick spell would summon Clash away, leaving Veran to deal with Cthulu.
However, that is not my belief of what will happen. I'm thinking a banishment akin to that of Teferi's in the Phyrexian war. Casting Veran outside of reality and time itself, into the bleak void of nothingness for eternity, or until he garners enough power to return. But, time will tell I suppose.

Thing is, Maricul pretty much did that to stall Veran. It would provide for some more stalling, sure, but it is still not enough to entirely stop the Arashi. There is one thing Clash asked me though, and his last post seems to be reflecting a previous thought that I had - and that is about Veran's mask. Now what could he possibly want with my character's face  |
