Kara didn't know how to answer that question, admittedly she wasn't very good at thinking that far ahead but tried to think of something quick in an attempt to both impress Tori and reassure herself that she did knew what she was doing. Being invulnerable gave her less things to worry about in such a dangerous line of duty compared to other people in Moon Valley and the world in general. "Superwoman will appear wherever she's needed, whenever she's needed. For now I'm thinking of buying a gym bag and applying for a part time job at the Moon Valley Times. What do you think?"

“That’s all well and good but aren’t you at least curious why someone tried to kill the mayor? I know some people don’t like her but she hasn’t really done anything to warrant being shot, that we know of.”
Setting up a sniper point and trying to kill a political leader was no small crime so there must have been some underlying reason why he went through all that trouble. Hopefully the police themselves would be able to get to the bottom of it but there was a possibility that they wouldn’t be totally honest with the public when it was reported. Unless the man was just some nut.

The records she stole from the City Hall were perfectly made. No suspicions would arise from anyone who thoroughly examined them but gut instinct always stated otherwise. The mayor was in league with Maricul, that much was certain, but she needed more evidence to support this to herself.
That evidence came in the form of blood; the mayor's parents' blood. Acquiring it was an easy task. Amoura made it look like there was a break-in and knock out gas was used to take down the couple. The goal first of all was to make sure that no one will notice any injuries so she carefully punctured the major arteries under each of their arms. Her telekinesis allowed her to drain out the necessary requirement to see all the memories entailing the mayor. At first nothing was amiss until she delved deeper into the memories to notice very...small mishaps. There were a few memory gaps, barely noticeable to the untrained mind, but they were there.
Amoura made her hasty exit from the house just as sirens began blaring outside. Her intangible form fell below the base and into the sewers--they have proven to be useful in running around the city unseen.
That was all the information she needed for now.

Kara opened her mouth to speak but ended up just closing it back up anyway. Not really knowing how to answer Tori's previous question making her feel more and more like the dumb blonde in those dumb blonde jokes Nex was always making. It seems the harder she tried to impress Tori the harder she failed at doing so. Time to eat crow. "You know I'm not the best thinker out there, Tori. I figured it was just some psycho who took pleasure out of killing innocent people..." There have been stranger things in Moon Valley.

“I think there’s more going on here than what meets the eye. I have a feeling in my gut.”
Tori pulled out a cellphone from her pocket and started to dial June’s number, holding it up to her ear and waiting for her to answer.
“Hello?”
“Hey, June. It’s me.”
“What’s up?”
“Can you meet me at my place later with your laptop?”
“Um…. yeah! Okay. No problem.”
“Thanks. See you in a bit.”
Tori hung up the phone and placed it back in her pocket before looking back at Kara.
“June’s hacking abilities should be able to acquire us some more information on the shooter. You want to come?”

Speakers thumped, bodies weaved, sweat dripped to the dance floor; the air reeked of burnt cigarettes, cheap perfume and alcohol. The worst scent of all was blood, human blood, and it was fresh. The vampires and demons in here were intoxicated with both drink and extinguished life while the remaining "cattle" were spooked repeatedly in their cages. In the corners where the flashing neon lights never passed, humans were giving up their mortality to join the ever growing vampire population, demons feasted on innards and the rest chose to mingle with the crowd.
It was a disgusting sight.
Had it not been for the human captives, The Night Angel would have simply dropped the deadliest of her explosives through the windows, ending another corrupted club. It was held in an abandoned apartment complex far from the town--no one would hear the horrible screams of the dying. Amoura had to first wander through to get their locations by following the frantic beating of their hearts and the sound of their blood rushing in their veins. Fear was so strong in here...
It was easy to blend in. All she had to do was get a hold of a black set of clothes, pull her hair back, put on makeup and she was in. There were distinct conversations occurring, particularly about the new mayor in town but none of it was important--just propaganda from the newspapers. At this, she gritted her teeth and resumed her earlier mission. Amoura wanted to make a move at the mayor but the time was not right. People were on high alert and she won't carve her path with numerous corpses.
This place on the other hand...
This city needed some cleaning up. While people kept dancing, she backed against the strong structures of the place, hid a bomb behind her and slid it inside the wall. They were too distracted to take note of her behaviors and she didn't act suspicious in any way. A total of six were hid and it was time to begin the rescue process. Amoura's crimson eyes flashed and the lights in the place went out. Screaming, cursing and shrieking went out as everyone went on a rampage to find the one responsible for stopping the fun. In a state of panic, the not so strong ones went to the doors and windows to find, to their horror, they were sealed off--there was no escape from what will come to pass.
It was the perfect distraction. One by one, the humans were dropped outside of the place, she made her escape, pressed a button and the entire place detonated. Flames shot to the sky, dimmed and debris went flying in all directions. With the contents of the bombs, there was no way for any of those things to rise again unless they were ancients--she detected none of either race within.
Sirens were blaring in the distance and she couldn't be seen. The angel of the night disappeared, resumed her "normal" guise and returned to her apartment with groceries (aka, blood packets). Word had begun to spread about the attempts on the mayor, eh? Amoura snorted, locked the door behind her, ripped open the packets and drained them.
Rest was needed for now. Tomorrow, she had a lot of planning to do. [That'll be the last of them in this thread unless something comes up. ]

"Can I perhaps meet you there later? I have a gym bag to buy and a job interview to get to." Kara gave Tori a smile and wave before skipping away to buy her bag and get to that job interview, very much happy and excited for the future as she explores more of her special abilities while helping out those in need at the same time.

“All right. See you later.”
Tori watched Kara off and then turned the other way to head back to her place. While she was happy for Kara she couldn’t shake the feeling that something really bad was on the horizon. And her gut feeling has never been wrong before, maybe this time it will be. Either way she wanted to uncover as much information about the sniper’s incident as humanly possible. Maybe there was nothing to fear.
The End
