The crowd falls silent as he steps onto the stage.
“Life and death. Space and time. Fate and chance. Theses are the forces of the universe. Tonight I will show you that natures law can be bent”
He has said this line hundreds of times before. He knew the real power of what he would be doing tonight would hinge on peoples doubt of what they thought was real. He takes a deep breath and slowly removes his gloves before continuing on with his performance. In one graceful motion, he releases his gloves into the air. The theater erupts into applause as the gloves transform into a pair of crows that fly off into the back of the theater.
“From the moment we enter this life, we are in the flow of time. We measure it and we mark it. But we can never defy it. We cant speed it up, or slow it down. Or can we?”
A flicks his wrist and a single rosebud seemingly appears out of nowhere.
“ Have we not all experienced a moment that seems to pass to quickly, and wish that we can make it linger.”
He extends his hand, and before the crowd, the rose begins to blossom. And only after mere moments after it bloomed, the petals wither and fall to the stage.
“Or felt time slow on a slow day, and wished we could speed things up a bit.”
With his hand still extended, the rose petals begin to flutter back to the rose stem. And to the crowds amazement the rose rejuvenates itself.
With a smile on his face, Dorian walks into the crowd and selects a beautiful woman and hands her the rose. “Will you care to join me on stage” The woman blushes and promptly follows him up. He grabs a cloth and prompts he to take a seat. “I assure you that we have never met before, for I would remember a woman of such grace. And I think you would remember a man as remarkable as me, am I right dear?” and before she gets to say another word Dorian drapes the cloth over her.
“But the true aspect of magic is do the unthinkable” He removes the cloth only to reveal that the women is gone, and has been replaced by a rose. “and the unexpected” The room begins to fill with applause from the people in awe. Dorian takes a step forward and picks up the rose and tosses it into the audience, bows, then begins to fade away. The audience goes silent, before a explosion of applause envelopes the theaters.
