King Ajax was ready to lead his army to victory against the Etheris Empire. For years they have fought and for years they have gone on move for move, this time though would be different. This time both nations agreed that an end was at hand, an end to their conflict once and for all. With a new alliance sewn by the hand of his daughter, King Ajax had faith that the God of War would smile down upon them in the approaching battle. The King entered a large room shaped like a circle which had his men armed and ready for battle all around it. Golden floors layered the ground and white stone walls surrounded them; Prince Damon, the man who was to have his daughter's hand in marriage would be amongst the crowd and the king would call the prince to him soon enough. Now standing in the middle of the circle King Ajax raised up his sword and began to speak to the soldiers of the Zeeladona Kingdom. "My father gave me this sword on his death bed. On it is the blood of ninety-nine men. Tonight I plan to make the Emperor of Etheris it's one-hundredth victim!"Lowering the blade King Ajax's eyes wandered over to Prince Damon who was standing near the entrance of the War Room. "Today marks the end of not only a long war with the likes of Etheris but also the end of a war with the Anglibana Republic. I introduce to you all, our new brothers in arms led by none other than the man who will take my beloved Princess Amadora's hand in marriage, Prince Damon." |

Prince Damon was the talk of the town ever since his engagement to Princess Amadora was announced for all to hear. Truth be told he couldn't care less about the king's daughter. His "interests" were in other things, things that many people did but none of them ever talked about but if marrying the princess was all it took for their nations to merge and become stronger than they could ever be apart, so be it. King Ajax finally called on him and Prince Damon stepped forward, now standing on the right-hand side of the king looking back at the crowd of soldiers from both Zeeladona and the Anglibana Republic. He could feel the tension in the room, knowing that many of the soldiers would need time to get used to the alliance as they still wanted to kill each other where they stood. The Etheris Empire acted as a common enemy that kept the two together and both sides hoped that the wedding to take place after would keep them united long after their common enemies were dead.

Ayen arrived onto the scene just in time to hear the end of King Ajax’s speech and to watch Prince Damon walk up to his side after being called. The very sight of the prince made Ayen sick to his stomach and he was the only one there who hated him for more reasons than just being a former enemy. It was sickening to Ayen that Princess Amadora was expected to marry a man she didn’t love, and who didn’t love her, simply to try in vain to get two former enemies together but there was nothing he could do about it. He wasn’t a prince. If he was Ayen wouldn’t have to hide his feelings for the king’s daughter. But all he could do now was listen to the words of his superior and raise up his sword against who they tell him to raise up his sword against. |

Now with Prince Damon by his side King Ajax could continue the briefing. "Prince Damon will lead the force through the wastelands located behind the Etheris Empire while I lead a full frontal assault on their defenses to distract them."The soldiers began to talk amongst themselves, many not comfortable with following a former enemy into such a dangerous sneak attack but Ajax lifted up his hand and then raised his voice: "SILENCE!"The room became dead quiet, the only sound that could be heard were from the crickets outside the palace. "You doubt your king's decision? Speak!"King Ajax looked around the room but no one spoke up. He then looked back to the Prince to give him the floor. "Prince Damon." |

Damon heard the whispers amongst the soldiers upon King Ajax's orders and watched as the king raised his voice to silent the crowd, how they even had the nerve to do so openly before their king was strange and foreign to the prince. They all would have been severely punished for this back in the Anglibana Republic but until he married the princess it was not his place. Soon. King Ajax gave him the floor and he faced the men that resented his very presence. Unphased by their resentment as he had no time for it. "We leave at dusk. Take as much as you can carry. The wastelands are a no-man zone for a reason. The Etheris Empire believe no man can cross it for a reason but tonight we prove that it can be crossed. Tonight we take the Etheris Empire by force!"

The soldiers raised up their swords and cheered. Some were forced but most, sincere. The hatred towards the Etheris Empire was far greater than that of Zeeladona and the Anglibana Republic. Ayen held up his sword high above his head as well, screaming at the top of his lungs alongside the crowd before everybody started moving for the exit. The time for talks and planning was over, unfortunately for him he had missed a huge part of the planning but there was nothing else left to do aside from staying alive.
