Zira noticed the worry in Maricul's eyes and how they went over to the hand she used to punch the hole in the wall, which didn't even appeared phase by the damage she had inflicted upon the room. These strange new behaviors by the Seductress regarding herself made the Firebird honestly miss the more sly vampiress who was a lot more forward with her seduction and less caring about the victim's welfare.
"I'm fine. What's with you?"
“Make no mistake though. There is far more at stake in the coming war than just who possesses the Downward Spiral. The Trial of Fates has begun.”
"Trial of Fates?"

“It’s nothing. Really.”
She was lying and it was more obvious than lies she has made before. Acting more human and less divine by the minute as she continued with the important subjects she wanted Zira to know about.
“Ten thousand years ago there was a war to determine the gods of Genesis, one for each continent. Jherra was the first to receive its god and he would become known as Lord Yahweh now history will repeat itself. Should The End fail, the conclusion of this war will give birth to a new god and Lord Yahweh will be no more.”

"You've been acting strange ever since you got here. I'm warning you if you're playing mind games with me I will find out."
"Wh-what?"
Zira was blown away by this piece of information and could only imagine how it would affect Miracle. Lord Yahweh, the god everyone feared so, had an expiration date like anyone else? Could be replaced by another so easily? Gods were born from war and conflict? How appropriate.
"Wait a minute.... if Lord Yahweh only came about after the Trial of Fates then.... what was he before it?"

“You mean she hasn’t told you?”
Maricul was surprised, a rarity these days. Amoura was present at the revelation that Lord Yahweh was once a man. Naturally The Seductress would have thought they would share such pieces of information with one another but apparently not. Once again it fell on her to explain things to the ignorant.
“Yahweh was a man. When his reign as god is up he will spend the remainder of his days as a mere mortal.”

“You mean she hasn’t told you?”
"Hasn't told me what?"
“Yahweh was a man. When his reign as god is up he will spend the remainder of his days as a mere mortal.”
And there it was. The realization had came down hard against the Firebird and she was hardly a woman of faith. These revelations back to back were all too much for her to take in all at once, prompting Zira to sit down but this time on the stool next to the bed instead of the bed itself. She still didn't trust Maricul not to try to take advantage of her while they were alone so a bed was the last place she needed to be.
"Not only is his word in this reality a lie but his power and authority is far more limited than I could have imagined. Will Beelzebub reach the same fate?"

Zira was right not to trust Maricul. Her lust was still overwhelming and it was a challenge not to cave under the pressure and attempt to take The Firebird right here, right now, as she did back in Utopia. Although in the end it really didn’t matter where Zira stood or sat. If The Seductress wanted to go for it she would. Thankfully Maricul had enough self control to keep her lust on the back burner. She had a sea of beautiful men waiting for her back home, ready and willing to perform every deed imaginable to please her if she really needed to satisfy the lust. Maricul would prefer it if a sexual encounter with Zira, if there was another, would be mutual and not because The Firebird fell victim to her seduction a second time.
“Lord Beelzebub ascended into godhood because of intervention by the Arashi. It is quite possible that as such, they hold the keys to his undoing. This is why it would not be in his best interest to take them on alone. But do trek such a field with caution, he was plagued with the Nightmare as your sister was and also wields The Waking Nightmare within his grasp.”
Maricul paused, recalling an event that happened months ago between Lord Beelzebub and Miracle.
“He already used it on the High Priestess Miracle once before already.”

As usual she asked a question and received yet another revelation for her troubles. Zira, having just sat down, stood straight back up at the news that Lord Beelzebub possessed the same ability as her sister and had already used it on someone as young as Miracle. The Waking Nightmare was a powerful ability in it's own right, being property of the Arashi after all. It was hard to imagine what someone like Lord Beelzebub could or would do with it as most likely he wouldn't show the same restraint as her sister.
"Beelzebub has the Waking Nightmare!?"
Miracle said nothing about being attacked with the Waking Nightmare at the hands of a god but perhaps he didn't use it in the same way as Amoura in which it would be recognizable. Or Miracle simply wished to keep it to herself. Zira sat back down and placed a hand on her forehead like she had a headache. All the things she's learned here today has taken it toll and the worst part of all was, she didn't know who she could trust relaying this information to with a threat of betrayal brewing above her like a terrible storm.
"Maricul, thank you for all of this but if you don't mind.... I would like to sleep so I can properly processed all of this before I ask any more questions. All right?"

Zira wouldn’t have to ask twice as Maricul nodded her head and began to walk backward towards the nearby wall.
“You know where to find me if you want to talk more.”
For now there were no more to say. The ball was in Zira’s court and would have to decide on the next move, who to trust and whom she couldn’t. Sliding through the wall The Seductress would vanish into thin air and return to the throne in her beautiful land of Utopia.

Zira looked around the now empty room, finding peace in the silence as she went over everything that has hit her today. From the arrival of the twins, to the revelations uttered by Maricul's lips, she knew instantly that things would only get worse, far worse, before there was any hope for them to get better and now she did not know who among her she could trust. Why couldn't anything be easy? The Firebird didn't know what fatigued her the most but before she knew it, her head was laid flat out against the pillow and her body surrendered to the sleep at long last.
The End
