After the unsettling revelation predicting her death the Firebird decided that she needed some time alone to process this information. For years she had stared death in the face and only stared straight back at it while defying the odds in Mortis but now, now she was starting to doubt herself all because of one prediction of the future. Going up to her room Zira removed her clothes and had a quick shower, the warm water feeling good poured against her skin as she finished cleaning and drying herself off before wrapping her body around inside a black robe and headed back into her room. Sitting down in front of a mirror next to her bed and brushing her long black hair as she quietly sang to herself while brushing.

It didn’t take long for news of The Firebird’s predicted demise to reach the ears of The Paradox as she began observing Zira from her castle in Utopia. Sensing the doubt in her mind, the feeling being all too familiar to Maricul as she recalled all the instances in the past where she herself doubted her own ability; as a human being, as a vampiress and most of all as a witch. It was centuries ago. Long before The Second Aspect stepped onto Genesis soil and wrote his legacy into the history book for all times, adding another page to the book of Maricul in the process. But to her, a being who had lost their sense of time, it felt like just yesterday she was doubting herself. Cursing herself for weakness. Now The Firebird, a woman who had already proven herself very capable, was doing the same. Life was funny some times.
Maricul’s eyes lingered over The Firebird’s frame as she washed herself clean, nothing about the devil’s body was foreign to her after their shared night in Utopia, but she still admired the natural beauty that came from such a strong woman. She was so much like her sister and yet, so very unlike her. While Zira combed her hair The Seductress took a single step forward, leaving the compounds of Utopia and crossing over into Hallowton, into Zira’s room and standing directly behind her. For the first time in centuries, Maricul’s reflection appeared in the mirror giving away her position to the heir of Mortis.

Zira steadily ran her brush down the back of her hair, going from back to front before she suddenly stopped at the appearance of the Seductress' reflection in her mirror. Eyes going wide from the surprise appearance sent Zira Firestone immediately on the alert, flying out of her chair and grabbed a nearby gun hoist that concealed Ebony and pulling it out, now holding it tightly in her right hand and aiming it directly between the eyes of Maricul. In her mind the Firebird knew that a bullet would do jack shit against the Paradox but it was far more risky not to have a weapon in her hand then one that's proven insufficient. Zira didn't say anything to Maricul, she only glared, burning hatred building inside of the soul of the Firebird as Maricul would notice the temperature in the room heating up, threatening to melt everything in the room.
Already Zira was beginning to change.

Zira’s reaction came as no surprise to The Seductress. It was always the norm when dealing with these people. They saw her a threat, and she was, but for now she was anything but a threat to them when unprovoked. As the temperatures began to rise in the room Maricul’s body did not break a single sweat. Her clothes didn’t begin to feel hot or threaten to melt off her body. It was disappointing. The abilities that came with being a paradox acted as a double edged sword. Many of the things that could no longer reach Maricul now was missed. She missed being able to feel the burns from blessed silver. She missed being able to work up a sweat, to tire out and need time to recover. She wished the thrill and excitement that went into a battle where your life was heavily at stake. All those things, taken away in favor of her evolution. It was both a gift and a curse. Maricul gave Zira a blank expression, even during her days as an undead guns meant very little to her. The perks of being directly made from the curse itself and not one of its many victims.
“Nice to see you too.”
Maricul voice was dipped thick in sarcasm and little interest in her weapon of choice. Turning to her left slowly Maricul drew a nail file from her blue trench coat and sat down on Zira’s bed, beginning to do her nails while continuing.
“How have you been?”

The second Zira regained her composure the temperature in the room began to return to normal, being directly connected to her anger. Being an Empath Zira was no stranger to emotions and how to control those emotions but every once and a while she lost control which was evident during her time in Utopia and her latest encounter with the twins that foretold of her death. It told the Firebird that there was something seriously wrong inside of her and perhaps it had some connection with what appeared to be her current fate. Would she be the object of her own undoing? Zira decided now was not the time to ask these questions as she had to deal with the woman that had decided to pay her a visit.
"Cut the crap, Maricul! Why are you here?"

Maricul stopped filing her nails and looked up to The Firebird. If Zira was bold enough to try reading her emotions she would sense a genuine concern for her well being due to an underlining fondness towards her, and while the lust for Zira's body was still very much apparent, it wasn't the ruling cause of her feelings for her. In a few words, during their time together in Utopia before Zira came in bursting in anger with the others, The Seductress had developed a bit of a soft spot for The Night Angel’s younger sister. Showing that despite all the pain and suffering she caused, she still had a heart underneath.
“I heard about the foretelling of your death. I wanted to offer my services to you on this matter.”

Zira was confused to say the very least. Obviously she didn't trust the Seductress, thinking this one of her many tricks to deceive and even considered the possibility that Maricul had something to do with her very demise, still she couldn't deny the possibility that this was genuine but why? Why on earth would Maricul want to help her? They were enemies. The two fought time and time again back in Mortis and fought against her sister and her allies twice as much back in their own realm. It was all too suspicious and not to mention very convenient for a person possession the powers that Maricul possessed to want to help in her greatest hour of need. Zira didn't dare read her thoughts or emotions, she didn't think she would be able to and even if she could, who to say what she was reading was the truth? This woman was a paradox. Maricul could say, think or feel one thing and mean another. Even knowing this however, Zira felt the need to ask why.
"You and I are enemies. Why would you want to help me?"

“When are you people going to get it through your thick skulls that I am not your enemy? Perhaps my many incarnations scattered throughout time and space were but not I. The Maricul of Genesis has never touched a single hair on your head.”
Maricul stood up, putting the filer away and slowly moving her hand over to Ebony, gently taking it out of The Firebird’s grip and putting it down on the table next to them before taking Zira’s hands into her own, bringing them up and brushing her soft lips against the back of them as she looked into her eyes affectionately.
“It would be a sad Genesis without Zira Firestone.”

Zira tensed at Maricul's touch but soon relaxed as her lips brushed off the back of her hands, feeling a sense of security being this close to Maricul but soon snapped out of it and took a step back from the Seductress' reach, refusing to fall victim to her seduction for a second time. Picking up the holster Zira walked around Maricul and to the other side of the bed to create some much needed distance between them.
"I don't need your help. I'll be just fine on my own. You want to help? Stop making our situation with the third and final Arashi any worse by promoting your one people, one reality nonsense!"

Zira relaxing to her touch did not go unnoticed to Maricul as she smiled back at her. That smile soon fading and being replaced with a frown as Zira pulled away and walked to the other side of her room with Ebony still in her hand, the stubbornness that plagued Amoura’s entire group shinning through as brightly as ever now. To think she was ever that green.
“Do you really think anything I do or don’t do on that front will change anything? The End will come to bring about destruction to all the realms that remain. It’s already too late to mend the wounds inflicted upon the universe. Your sister will need all the support she can get in the battle to come. It won’t do to have her lose a sister. I know how much that can hurt.”

Zira was at a lost for what to think. If this was a trick then it was a damn good one. The Firebird never thought she would find herself longing for the time back in Mortis where Maricul was just another foe she could fight on fair ground and even defeat. Now she was on a whole other playing field and Zira couldn't figure out what her angle was or what she meant by knowing what it's like to lose a sister when her sister wasn't dead.
"What are you talking about? Your sister is alive and well in Jherrazad and you have an exact duplicate back at Utopia."

“I haven’t had a relationship with my sister in over five hundred years! She was corrupted by the devil blood that flows freely through her veins and the demon spirit that leeches off her life like a parasite! My sister died the day she met Kasul and all the Rankos in the universe will not make up for that fact!”
For the first time since her ascension Maricul was truly angry over something someone said and not just a victim of a higher power infecting her spirit with utter hatred for the person standing across from her. It may not have been a literal death but her loving older sister did die on that day and it was a hurt she has carried with her ever since.

The Seductress' sudden outburst over the subject of her eldest sister caught the Firebird off guard. The woman was just full of surprises today and it only served to further confuse Zira on what exactly it is she really wanted. Or did she for once actually mean everything she has said since the beginning of this conversation?
"I'm sorry.... I had no idea."
Zira took her hoist and put it back with the rest of her weapons on her side of the bed before looking back to Maricul. Keeping her distance even though deep down, like having a weapon on her person, it wouldn't matter if Maricul really wanted to do damage against her but it was instinct that made the Firebird keep her distance.
"Surely you can understand why I would be hesitant to trust you. You may not technically be the Maricul I fought back in my world but you are still a part of her. But if you can shed some light on my alleged death, The End, Vulture or anything we're currently facing here then you would have our gratitude."

“Your ignorance is forgiven.”
Maricul walked over to the mirror to take a good look at herself. It has been centuries since she was able to look at her own reflection and it felt very good seeing it again. She could stare at herself for hours in complete fascination over it. You don’t realize how much something means to you until it’s taken away. When Zira asked her questions Maricul could only release an annoyed sigh at the first question and the answer about to be uttered from her lips.
“It’s the same old story that has plagued your family for generations. You will be betrayed by the one you trust as your sister before you and your father before her.”
Betrayal ran on cold in their family. Mundus, while an evil emperor, trusted his leading General Sparda with his life and Sparda would go on to create a legacy through betraying him. Amoura, Mundus’ own creation and dub as a daughter would place her trust into a vampire named Ranka and be betrayed by him years later and now it was Zira’s turn to know what it felt like to be betrayed.
“By who is hard to say. It could be Amoura, Sparda, Sazan, Michael, Argus, Chloe. Anyone you know in your inner circle could hold the keys to your death.”
Maricul sat down on Zira’s bed again and looked up to The Firebird, allowing this to settle in before she would touch on her other two questions.

"One of m-my friends is going to kill me?"
Zira was in shock. She could barely stand on her own two feet anymore and ended up dropping down on the bed opposite of Maricul's position on it, staring down at her feet. A friend or family member would betray her? Kill her? No. It had to be a mistake. Zira knew these people. None of them would betray her, never. There had to be more to this story than neither of them were seeing now but what?
"Is that all you can tell me? That a friend or family member is going to stab me in the back!?"
