Who was she? What was she? Did it even matter with all the memories siphoning through her head continuously in a never ending pattern? She was Genevive. No, David. That's wrong: she's clearly Andrea. No, none of them were her! She didn't look a thing like them! Why were they in her head? Her pale fist slammed against the window of a shop and she kept walking down the street that had been completely demolished. Bodies were strewn everywhere, drained of blood until they were dried, wrinkled husks.
Olivia. Jacob. Ashley. Kat. No, no, no that wasn't her name! Those were the people she had killed and devoured to satisfy a need that was never satisfied. This small town had faced oblivion and lost with her as the source. The child grabbed at her white hair, gritted her teeth and growled. Blood and saliva dribbled from her open mouth. Why was she craving blood and destruction?!
It made no sense. Shouldn't she be at home watching television and making dinner for the children? Wait, she is a child. Why would she have children? What about her job? Her boss will fire her if she doesn't complete the job and make sure the paperwork is finished. Practice, she had to practice her music for the upcoming concert at Symphony Hall! The shop had to be closed, the leftover bread discarded and the ovens cleaned. Medicine had to be filled, yes, that was the important thing right now.
The child was running all over the body-littered town trying to figure out what she must do. First she entered the pharmacy, went to the back and started filling prescriptions when she remembered she had to mop the local school as well. Everywhere, nowhere; her mind was unsettled, unstable.
Buildings collapsed into ash from a simple touch. The girl still didn't notice while she ran. She was a mess, her robes splattered with blood as were her hands; she looked like a child from a nightmare. Hours passed and all that remained of the city was ash and corpses. Even still, she kept acting like it was all there and opened doors no longer standing, tried to eat non existent food and stared at items that seemed to have sparked her interest.
"I'm Lisa! I'm Reagan! Where is my cat?! Hi, I'm Amy and I like to play the violin! Oh give me a hoooome where the buffalo rooooooam! Hush little baby don't say a word! Momma's gonna buy you a mocking bird! Guten Abend, gute Nacht, von Englein bewacht, die zeigen im Traum dir Christkindleins Baum." The girl screamed and punched herself repeatedly in the face, "That. Hurts. Ouch. Ouch. OUCH! OUCH!"
Flames engulfed the ash, the bodies and the girl immediately stopped her self punishment to hum to herself like nothing happened. The earlier melt down didn't affect her at all. "Ring around the rosie, a pocket full of posies ashes, ashes we all fall..." she raised her hands, kicked out her feet and fell onto a pile of ashes. The earth around her caved in, forming a massive crater around her, "DOOOOOOWN!" Her maniacal laughter echoed out.
