What a strange month it's been. First she's reunited with most of the Devil May Cry crew, catches up with Clash, grows a backbone again for the gods know how many times, woke up a divine creature, it destroyed everything and now it's pouring its chaos into other dimensions! Naturally, Other found amusement in this and Amoura never heard the end of it. Frankly, she was getting pissed and was at the end of her rope--this resulted in her taking a trip from Devil May Cry for a few days to hopefully unwind.
Other still wouldn't shut up about it.
I'd say it's been a good month! And you kicked bubble gum and che--no, it's you kicked ass and chewed bubble gum.
"Can't I get a moment's peace without you talking about that all the time?" Amoura complained aloud. No one was nearby to hear her and it helped to get the frustration she harbored against her alter self out in this manner.
But, but, but! Things went boom! And this chocolate ice cream is amazing! Why on earth did I never get into this shit back at home?
Amoura slowed her motorbike to a stop, parked it and pulled off her helm. The forest was always a pleasant area to be when the need to relax arises and she was given a few days off to recuperate as long as she took the satellite phone. Yeah, a lot of good it'll do in another realm. What's the worse that could happen out here? It's not like some maniacal creature was causing mayhem.
"Other, I don't care. Millions of people died because of the Arashi and there was nothing anyone could do." The hybrid placed her helm on the seat and snatched up her pack, "And you are going to drop it while we are out here."
Party pooper!
"Daddy's girl..." she replied with a growl and made her way down a hill towards a river. That was the ideal place to take a much needed nap and it was cloudy to boot--no sunburns.
That would be an insult to you! Not I. But, I'll eat more of this ice cream.
"Good. I'm taking a nap and if you give me another mobster themed dream again I'll give you that nightmare again."
Meep!
"Why I didn't think of using that against you in the first place is beyond me," she threw the bag in the grass and sat down cross-legged. This was great: no technology that actually works, no people, and best of all no divine creatures out to destroy everything here!
"Don't know how this day could get better."

For all the chaos of the universe, worlds now intertwined in a fragile alliance for coexistence... dimensions laid bare within this treacherous labyrinth... it seemed nigh impossible that one could still find such peaceful parts, such lush green lands with mighty trees stretching out into the infinite. A most fitting place for one to come to rest ones weary bones, to soothe the troubled mind of a warrior... perhaps the very reason why the raven haired vampiress had found her way here. Alas for all her hopes of seeking some small measure of respite... she was not alone... something other than beasts lurked within these dense forests... a presence she had met before.
The peaceful state of this lush green forest was thus coming to a swift end, the solitude broken... as hoards of birds cawing frantically flocked across the heavens above the vampiress, their wings batting as if their very lives was at risk... and soon, many more beasts both large and small flocked the scene of the river, some tumbling into its clear water in a fit of madness and fear.. while others... simply died, collapsed before ever taking another step beyond the borders of the lake, all living creatures.. fleeing from something… someone. As a final testament to the ensuing madness, in the distance... beyond the borders of the water... the forest... was literally.. vanishing... its near limitless horizon as if crumbling before the eyes of the beholder... drawing closer and closer to the location of the vampiress, and as this phenomenon neared... it became frighteningly clear whom was responsible the death of life itself.
There with slow and determined steps now coming to a halt inches away from the bed of the lake, standing amongst the devastating decay of but few remaining carcases of animals and trees... rapidly withering alongside the soft grass and colourful plants...until finally, it was all gone... with the porcelain skinned fiend responsible for the unmaking of the land stood without so much as a word nor a flinch to be found upon his haunting visage. There with nothing at his back but an empty horizon of a barren lifeless landscape of ash and death stood Validus Recubo... with his demonic emerald glance fixed upon the woman which had already been sent to hell at his hands. His hands ever comfortably resting within the pockets of his immaculate attire, a testament to the immovable posture of a fiend who knew no remorse, a fiend…. which now resumed his stride towards the woman, with the very waters of the pond drying out at his feet before he ever touched the surface… the once life filled bottom of the lake, parched beyond measure as he drew closer and closer to her, with the remaining woodlands beyond the two figures sharing the fate of what lay behind….save for a but a singular, minor patch of grass perfectly shaped round her figure, leading to only one possible conclusion… the white devil had spared her…. for a reason that she would know well. A reason which would soon become apparent, as the devil now stood mere inches away from her, his cold deathly gaze looking down upon her, still he remained silent… the only sound left, was the ominous churning of dust in the wind.

The birds frantic song and flight path interrupted the nap she had begun to settle down to. Were there hunters disturbing the peace? With so many worlds destroyed it's plausible they were taking it out on the wildlife or they were hungry enough to frantically waste ammo. Either way, there was a lot of distress in the air and Amoura had stopped chancing fate a long time ago. Her satchel carried more than just blood packets, but her guns, bombs and other essentials should someone prove troublesome.
The belt that held onto most of said items was clipped around her waist, her holsters for her guns were strapped on and both weapons slipped in.
"I just can't get time away, can I?"
Nope! Sucks to be you!
Amoura rolled her eyes at Other's words and snatched up her bag--the waiting game only proved to further unnerve her when the larger beasts of the forest came rushing out. They raced past her, splashed through the now muddied river and disappeared into the thicket.
Then, in a burst of ash, she saw him. The hybrid stood her ground in the face of this oncoming discord but she could never forget that horrid feeling of his iron grip around her heart as she slipped away from her body...
"Really?! Him of all people? Why, why, why, WHY must people ruin my vacations?!"
Because it's fun?
"Hey, HEY! Don't you get started! I had to put up with a lot of shit, got vacation time only to put up with even bigger shit!"
'course, that last portion could be heard very easily by Validus. He drew closer, destroying more of what she once considered a sanctuary, until it was nothing but a large field of ash. Now her favorite spot was ruined and the patch of green grass remaining below her may soon follow once she steps away.
"What's the matter? Upset I didn't stay dead? Shouldn't take it out on the forest."
While he stared at her, she stared back. Amoura didn't run before and she won't run now--the only difference from the previous situation is she won't die. No, not this time. Amoura stepped back from the last portion of green life and as she did so, black mist began to seep out of her flesh. The fog surrounded her body, concealing her body, until she stepped out. Sparda had taught her a nifty trick a week back: storing necessary things in her aura and her armor was the first thing to be taken along. Her guns came next in a burst of the same fog and gained physical form once they were safely in her hands.
‘‘Do not focus on the path you take; only on your destination – your instincts will find the most efficient route on their own.’’
Even after twenty-five years, those words that Ranka had said to her during one of many training sessions stuck to her memory. Her instincts told her that all she had at the moment wasn't enough--she needed more to fight Validus and she had an idea. The vampire pointed her guns out at the sides, appearing to be reconsidering her choice to engage in combat, but that was not the case. They began to shift about in appearance and gained in size--it wasn't seen but she had begun to fuse her familiars with her weapons. Sometimes, watching the teacher was more beneficial. Amoura aimed her transformed weapons at him.
"You seem keen on trying to kill me again so come on. Try."

Even in the midst of angered and desperate nonsense spouted by the raven haired vampire, not so much as a word or physical deviation was to be found upon the ghostly shape of the white skinned devil as a response. Not even as he stood right before her... he simply watched, his deathly hypnotic gaze locked upon her as if she was all in this world worthy of his intrigue.... and as his gaze penetrated deeper and deeper into her being... the stillness of this barren wasteland was thus broken by what seemed an echo at first...a whisper on the edge of hearing, having travelled for what seemed an eternity, stemming from the immaculate form of the beast... which only proceeded to grow with every passing moment.... slowly.. little by little…engulfing the mind of this creature from the night. Frantic noises, incoherent words of dark cries and pleads of insanity... voices of the damned, thousands upon thousands of desperate voices all calling out to her... clawing at the very sanity of the vampiress... The sickening whispers continuously growing louder and louder… and amidst all this few sentences and words could be made out… cryptic words and sentences… messages… with their purpose remaining but a mystery to all but their origins.. as they proceeded to reach out and tear at very mind of his foe.
'It comes for you…’
‘It was YOUR fault…’
‘There is no escape…not in this life… not in the next…’
‘Give in… to your fear….’
‘Make… us… whole….’
Then.. suddenly.. it ended... the whispers subsided, the echoes quelled... as white devil parted his lips at last, as he watched her still. Noting the minor increases in power, the shifting of her being amidst this jet black miasma, the puny weapons she so clinged being altered, as if to shift end bend their matter on her whims alone... all of this pointing to one obvious fact... she would stand her ground. Then his words hit her, his cold emotionless voice letting forth but four debilitating words... a fact that her eyes told to be an obvious truth.
'It is not enough.....'

The Night Angel stood her ground, never flinching as those voices bombarded her thoughts to either distract her or for another purpose that Validus had in mind. Amoura may not be moving but a low chuckle reverberated from her throat. How many times has she put up with a situation in this likeness? Every single night and every waking moment for three years she endured nightmares that she often couldn't wish on her worst enemy. The Arashi had re-triggered those dreams but they rarely gripped her fears.
"You're not Veran and you will never come close." Came her cold response.
'It is not enough.....'
Mr. Frowned Face had a point there--this may not be enough against him and there were other methods available to her. Amoura pushed back her hood and the skin on her forehead started moving. Flesh parted and a red eye emerged from within. It darted around within its socket, seemingly analyzing Validus and grew still--the only sign of life from it was consistent blinking to keep it moist.
Both guns dissipated in black mist and in the same manner, a blade dropped into her outstretched hands. So, not enough? Let's see how he likes this.
The Third Eye revealed Validus' aura, a green-black shade, and the overall movement. It was like watching a constant, silk-like stream of liquid and the shape never remained the same--most of the time, it was rounded but not perfectly so. Amoura needed to find part of it that had the most movement to disrupt his overall "balance" in power or possibly damage him--THERE!
In less of the amount of time needed to blink, Amoura's sword cut through Validus' aura and violently disrupted the steady flow. From the damaged area, black and green wispy tendrils flailed around. The Night Angel didn't stop her attack there. The blade disappeared, her transformed guns made their comeback and she fired. Instead of bullets, black beams of raw, powerful energy poured out of the nozzles and aimed to strike at her target.
"Sorry to disappoint."

While he was left to ponder the name and nature of this creature she had mentioned, he could however conclude the reason behind it. It seems that she had felt a passive effect of his very being... the call of those who resided within him... interesting that this girl had seen much worse, alas... she would learn, that there are fates worse than the loss of ones mind... such as the moment of despair in a feeble struggle, where all hope has faded…. powerlessness would be the first lesson. Thus like times that had come before.. he would push her to her limit... again and again.. until she gave him what he desired. As such she made her move, as yet another shifting of the matter that was her being occurred, a third eye... a transformation many would find confusing, yet its nature was clear to the white haired devil. For one to summon a third, one would desire to see the unseen, and thus her pattern of attack was easily predictable, and while most would shy away out of such speculation alone... Validus.. did not, infact it is what he had hoped for all along.
Her strike fell upon him... swift and deadly.. its aim and purpose clear, were it anyone else, their power would have been sapped, their strength defeated. Alas what the raven haired vampire did not know... could not have known, was that she had made a fatal mistake in her attack... a mistake which would now become painfully clear to her. What she had done, was disrupting the delicate balance of the unseen energy of his being... which like a dam who's balanced structure holds the massive masses of water in check... a dam which had now been cracked… again and again with each of her attacks, and finally caved… and the destructive waters thus broke free. In her ignorance.. she had tilted the very lid of Pandora's box... as the volatile energy within his form was without balance and control for the first time since his creation... and set free for but a single moment. The result was a release of pure terrifying energy, a force of untold power which resounded over the land in a colossal blast.. and outlet of emerald energy sizzling with a blackened coat of shadow. Swallowing the very beams whole which she futilely fired upon him as if they were nothing in the blast which engulfed his foe as well as several miles of the barren land in the blink of and eye. The very ground vaporizing in a chaotic symphony of destruction… the skies crackling with thunder as the sheer outlet of energy upset the molecular balance of the heavens upon its release…. and then.. just as quickly as it had been unleashed... it vanished.... as balance was seemingly restored in the aftermath of the anomaly.... and there... standing on atop a thin pillar of crumbling stone within a vast smouldering crater… was Validus.
His gaze travelling up and down his own being which stood as immaculate as ever, analysing potential changes to his form, alas there were none. Surprisingly enough were as some would adorn a look of horror, shock…. even awe in light of such an event. It almost looked as if the fiend was pleased with the outcome, as if he was on the verge of a new stage of his own evolution… only time would tell.

Amoura looked over her shoulder in time to see his aura fluctuating and expanding. Her heart sank into her stomach and Other screamed:
RUN!
That's exactly what she started doing. Her guns disappeared to make the escape easier on her but this couldn't be outrun at the rate it was going. It would seem she was left with one other option.
The vampire stopped, turned around and faced the oncoming light.
What are you doing?! Get out of here!
Amoura didn't listen. If she were to defeat Validus, or get out of here alive, she'll have to give it all she's got and there was only one way to access what was needed: she had to come close to death again.
Blue flushed along her skin, a portal opened behind her and she ran backwards into it. Instead of closing it up, part of the attack washed in after her...
---
Nothing could be seen for miles. Traces of Amoura didn't remain from the blast and it appeared that Validus may have again took her life despite her best efforts.
The opening of a portal in the sky stated otherwise.
Amoura fell out and her attempt to get what was required had been a success. A split second after the portal shut, white, wispy tendrils burst from her back and stopped her fall after they quickly formed some type of frame for wings. The overall look was completed when a thin veil rained down.
Raven locks faded to white but her silver irises remained. The armor she wore had also undergone a transformation of sorts: all of it was white and the cloak she wore no longer look tattered.
"Oh Christmas Tree, oh, Christmas Treee! That's where Amoura should beeeeee!"
"Shut the fuck up."
With one flap, she regained the distance she had lost and flew high enough to be at eye level with Validus.
"This enough?"
Amoura didn't wait for a response --oh, like he would even bother talking again--she extended her hand in his direction and whispered:
"Apocalypse."
---
From the distance, a massive pillar of light is seen falling from the heavens and slammed into the earth where Validus was standing. A shock wave shot out from the site of impact; it destroyed everything that may have remained in its path for miles.
---
As the light faded, Amoura flew back from the site of the attack and waited to see the results...

Yet another transformation occurred before the eyes of the white skinned demon, and he would have cared less than nothing for it if not for the increases in power which it brought. There she flew angelic and demonic in appearance, both beautiful and terrifying to any beholder... at long last, it would seem that she was finally ready to destroy him.. using all her might... and then it came. Not even bothering to listen to her words prior to the assault, all the white devil paid any heed to was the cataclysmic attack which now came soaring down from the heavens in a flare of blinding white light, magnificent in its power... this was it, the very reason Validus had hounded her for all this time, the fateful moment in which she gave it all she had... upon which Validus... had gambled everything. As he was completely engulfed within the blast, the impossible seemed to transpire before her very eyes... the end of the white devil was at hand... his seemingly invulnerable body crumbling before the might of the attack, shattering as the energies tore at his being and scorched him to oblivion... just.. as he had predicted.... in-fact he was not destroyed, not in the least... he evolved, in cracking open his being.. she had now fully broken the lid of Pandora‘s box, as the terrible power laying dormant within the white devil…. was released. Thus the pieces finally fell into place, as he took the final step towards his true potential... the last part of his evolution was taken.... and in the aftermath of blast.. amidst the ruined land... and scorched stone... the creature rose, laced in a blackened sinister energy.. crackling with untold power. His very being obscured completely by the oscillations of energy, as the form of the devil now seemed to shift, and meld itself anew, altering his body… alas before anything of this strange phenomenon could be discerned it ended…. as yet another devastating blast of energy was released, shattering the land even further… the final testament to this unnatural occurrence. There… within the deep crater… stood the white devil, his gaze fixed upon his prey, with his cold demeanour remaining unchanged as if nothing had occurred… alas… he was not the same… what little shred of humanoid appearance he possessed had all but vanished. Nothing less than monstrous in his appearance, the white devil… was finally complete. Having grown a pair of large black bat wings sprouting from his back with tufts of fur covering its base, revealing a much more defined musculature all over his body brandishing a large hole directly through his chest cavity, with evidence of a black, blood-like liquid having flowed down across his chest in a vertical line. His waist… covered in what appeared to be a black fur, which proceeded to cover his arms and legs, with two tufts at his back having grown in seize and length as well as to sprout further below on either side of his tail. The hands and feet as well having morphed themselves into something more demonic, straying from their once humanoid appearance. His hands now sporting long razor sharp claws extending from his fingertips, with his feet becoming like talons. A singular glance at these deadly extremities would be enough for anyone to deduce this creature to be a truly menacing foe at close range, enabling him to easily rip his enemies to shreds. The irises of his once bright emerald eyes having turned yellow while the sclera utterly engulfed in a pitch black hue completing his terrifying visage with the once straight lines beneath his eyes increasing in size as well as the savagery of their outlining. The once kept raven hair having grown longer and wilder extending far below his waist, with the once broken piece of a bone like helmet having vanished all together… turning into two long horns instead, extending upwards deviating ever so slightly to the sides. As a final addition to his demonic form, he had grown what appeared to be a very long and thin but powerful tail… indicated as in a flash, a swift whiplash came crashing down upon the rocky surface…. shattering it completely… perhaps a test to the prowess of his form. Suddenly…. he set off… soaring into the air with one mighty flap of his demonic wings, flying at breakneck speed directly towards her, only to come to a halt directly in front the vampiress, hovering elegantly inches away from the woman… still as silent as the grave. His gaze fell upon her… as if penetrating the very depths of her soul through her silver irises… and he saw, what he saw that time he tore the very heart out of her chest…. lingering deep within her…. despair. Crackles of energy seemed to shoot about the monstrous creature at random, jet black energy huddled in a pure emerald membrane. It was as if all the untold power within the white devil had finally been unleashed, as it was meant to… and as the first to ever feel the very presence of the creature… one could only imagine the thoughts raging through the mind of hybrid. It was as if the very air itself left the area.. the weight of the entire world as if to fall upon her shoulders… and in that fateful moment, his clawed hand was raised, aiming at her with his index finger… and in a flash, the same twisted energy which engulfed his being seemed to churn itself around to a minute orb at the tip of his talon… and was shoot forth in a wide arc of destructive energy…. seemingly engulfing his foe… with the massive wave of power finally crashing into the earth beneath them in a chaotic symphony of destruction…. leaving yet another crater. Its surface smouldering with molten chunks of rock and stone… cooling into the purest glass due to the sheer density of the energy… and his foe… was nowhere to be found. Yet he knew within the dark corners of his mind… this.. was far from over.

Despair? No. The helpless feeling she had so many times before had set in upon the terrible realization that one of her more powerful attacks had only awoken a bigger problem. Validus had undergone his own transformation, a grand one at that, and Amoura was at a complete loss. It would seem that no matter how hard she tried against all her foes, there always was failure after failure.
! IF YOU WEREN’T SO WEAK YOU’D BE ABLE TO WAKE UP! BUT AS ALWAYS YOU’RE JUST A HELPLESS CHILD!
Why were Maricul’s words being repeated at a time like this? Or, better yet, why was she thinking about them? Other must be behind this. Who else could force a memory like that from out of the blue and in an unfitting situation? Amoura didn’t want to think on who the second option was. What’s worse is she could feel that same rage building up—she hated it.
Amoura hugged herself, closed her eyes and her body ebbed away from the oncoming attack just a second before it could have made impact. The demoness phased back in a long distance from Validus and stared down in horror at what could have happened had she not moved. What had she done this time? First Veran, then waking Aper, the encounter with both in her dream alongside Maricul and now this. Where does she keep going wrong?
BUT AS ALWAYS YOU’RE JUST A HELPLESS CHILD!
YOU’RE JUST A HELPLESS CHILD!
A HELPLESS CHILD!
”I…” Black spread out from her pupils, covering the silver, tainting the white—from the corners of her eyes, black veins crawled out at a short length, ”…am…” The dream was repeating itself but in the physical world. The woman’s hair lengthened and looked unkempt. It was a complete one-eighty from her earlier, angelic-like demeanor. That wasn’t the end of it. Her wings, bright and fragile looking in appearance, became grey, worn and tattered—the silken veil ripped in shreds and billowed helplessly from the frame as did any fabric that hung loosely from The Night Angel.
That anger—the pure, unadulterated hatred—had made its comeback at full force. It was a struggle—Amoura tried to fight it but the battle had been lost from the start.”…not helpless.” This emotion couldn’t be contained. The only way this could be relieved was by unleashing all she had; but even then, would it be enough?
Amoura directed her black eyes to Validus and her palms faced him. A black mass trailed out, expanded and continued to enlarge with each moment that ticked by in this battle.
Then, it all charged forth at breakneck speed as a large wall. In less than a blink, it will be upon him and strike him into the destroyed earth. Upon impact, a deafening explosion roared out, a black-red dome soared to the sky and sent smoke up to blot out what remained of the once clear, blue sky. Left in its wake was not a crater, but a massive hole in the earth that had reached the molten rock. A faint glow arose as did the unleashed substance of the outer core. It will be at the surface any moment now at the rate it's going and it will overflow on this already desolate field. What's worse is it may continue out and demolish anything that could remain hundreds of miles off.
And she didn't care. All that mattered was destroying this monster that dared to kill her those many years ago, unleashing all this built up rage and prove to herself that she wasn't helpless. Maricul will be proven wrong--they all will be wrong!
The Night Angel descended towards the site, half expecting him to send another attack in her direction. That essence that made up the earlier attack crackled from her fingers to prepare for another attack similar to it but not as strong due to the urgency that may soon arise.
She waited with baited breath.

Thus the butterfly burst forth from its cocoon, and stood in all its splendour in her final fiendish form. Both of them beings of immeasurable strength, with but one common ground... both were little more than monsters. The unblinking pools of the void that became her eyes was clear to read for the white devil, and they spun a tale that words never could...anger.. hate... fear.. all of which had finally pushed her to edge and beyond, as she was ready to be who she was meant to be... heartless.. merciless... destroyer. There he hovered amidst the heavens, carefully observing the gathering of energy within her hands… building.. growing, until finally reaching its apex… it was shot forth. Yet he did not move… he allowed himself to be hit, to follow the blast all the way down to the molten core of the earth. To any and all who may have bared witness to this, it would appear the end for the white beast, but she knew better… and rightfully so, alas she was to slow, did not see… could not see… that mere seconds following the impact, the raven haired demon appeared right behind her.
Before she could even think nor act… he caught her, his black tail still smouldering from the massive heat of the magma in which he had descended tightening around her neck. Sheer remnants of the heat searing her skin as the smell of burning flesh became apparent, coped with the rapid decay of her flesh at his plagued touch… and to the shock and horror of what met her dark gaze as he turned her round to face him, Validus.. was unharmed. Bringing her closer to him, their twisted visages now mere inches from one another, and his stone cold glance starring deep into her inhuman eyes, the devil spoke at last… his voice calm, cold… and calculative as ever.
‘It is useless….’
His cold and dire message had thus been given, three demoralizing words ended with his grasp around her neck loosening, as he now spun round within the air, fuelling his motion by the batting of his black wings, bringing a swift devastating kick to the side of her face… sending her plummeting into the molten pool of lava within the earth. She would learn the futility of her actions first hand, and he would be the one to show her… even if he had to tear this world apart to do so. In one fluid motion his claws where brought together in front of his waist, as the crackling of energy soon began to emerge between his palms. Glowing with a deep emerald energy emanating from within his hands, pulsing with raw untapped power in its purest form. In a flash… his hands shot outwards from his terrifying figure… harnessing the untold power into a dense composition of a lance, complete with two emerald fires of raw sizzling energy on either side of the spear, manifesting themselves into a pointed tip. Hovering mystically in front of him, the white devil thus seized this devastating weapon with his right hand…hurling it directly on top of the molten pit in which he threw her… and the result… was devastating beyond all means of description.
Ending in a towering pillar of raw destructive energy, rising further and further into the heavens… expanding in both width and strength with each passing moment. The ground gave way at the expansion of the blast… disintegrating at the sheer touch of the energy. The earth…crackling underneath the destructive force of the impact, shattering from below… molten lava streaming up from within the cataclysmic sundering of the world as the gaping chasms upon the ground stretched for miles. Searing magma pouring out of every crevice… lightning dancing across the heavens, the balance of the world had come undone… all was on the brink of oblivion as heaven and earth became one.
Pandemonium was at hand… and Validus, still hovered above the ensuing chaos as its architect… unmoved… and unshaken… his eyes ever vigilant.. peeled for signs of the hybrid.

Despite her expectations of his next move, it came far too fast for reaction and the searing hot tail wrapped around her throat. Perhaps she would have struggled or screamed from her flesh cooking and decaying from pestilence during their first encounter—not this time; none of it seemed to register on her visage. The Night Angel was far too deep in her anger to conjure up a clarified thought. She was almost at the level of a beast, no, what she feared to become: a monster. And this monster peeled back her lips to bare her teeth that had now taken a sharpened edge in a defiant hiss. Fear, uncertainty, helplessness—it was void. It was nothing.
The kick came, sending her down into the molten rock to a possible death. The unbearable heat washed over her body, scorching her, but her demise wouldn’t come that easily. In moments, the lava hardened, cooled, cracked and she burst free, wings expanded at their full length. The moment she surfaced, Validus conjured the energy and threw it in her direction, to where she had fallen. Like him, she stood her ground but did something different: she stretched out her hand, palm facing the oncoming destruction and a blade was conjured seconds before the collision. It detonated, spreading its chaotic power to all corners of the horizon and causing more of the lava to well out from the core of this dying planet. Even much of that had been disintegrated from the blast. The emerald light waned; no sign of Amoura could be noted. All that could be heard was the molten rock churning, rocks falling into it and the earth quaking, cracking and splitting.
”It isn’t enough…”
Then, she appeared, blade in hand. The edges pulsated, emitting a faint, emerald green glow—it had absorbed a portion of his previous attempt to eradicate her off the face of this planet. Soon as she arrived, her attack was made. The weapon plunged into his torso and she let go of the hilt to get back as it detonated within him. The rage hadn’t been satisfied, not one bit—it wanted more. The earthquakes grew more violent and more of the crust plunged into the magma.
From her fingers, a black flame cracked to life and flickered continuously. No attack was made. Amoura wanted to wait and see how he liked a taste of his own medicine.

It was but a brief glimpse the white devil caught of the hybrid as at last she emerged before him prior to her swift attack.. a glimpse... a small glimpse of her fiendish gaze. That alone confirmed that at last she had become what she was meant to be all along, alas... there was no control, there was merely a raging beast, one that he intended to tame, or destroy. Pure and uncontrolled power, as unstable as it was deadly.... all fused into the blade which now struck him...engulfing his monstrous form in yet another chaotic blast, adding to the ever rising devastation of the world.
Alas as one would expect by merely observing the creature behind this assault, she knew he was far from dead, in fact he had yet again managed to escape unharmed, and the reasons… was simple. Where she was driven only by instinct... he was calculative, where she was chaos, he was order… where she was fury, he was control… a fact that would soon become evident. Emerging from within the dust and smoke, the devilish being still hovered as if unmoved by the devastation.... with his clawed hand sizzling with a deep emerald energy… the very hand which seemed to be closed round in intangible object, as if having… clutched the blade plunged into him. In the mere seconds of her escape, the white devil had in fact absorbed his own energy fused into her ethereal weapon, draining its power… and in turn regaining his own, a power which was already being fuelled further as the emerald flame within the palm of his blackened claw continued to grow, glowing with a deep ominous hue, a burning light as radiant as it was powerful. Thus the two creatures stood as they did before…. levitating amongst the ever darkening clouds, each of their hands crackling with power devastating beyond measure… their gaze locked… his inhuman eyes pulsing in their deep yellow hue, his bestial irises starring directly into the gaping pools of the void that were her eyes, a true testament to the last dwindling vestiges of her humanity… a testament that would now be sealed in the blood of innocents beyond counting…
Then he came… a single flick of his terrifying wings sending him soaring through the air, racing towards her at break neck speed as she did exactly the same. The two terrible creatures each puling back their hands in near mirror like symmetry… the flickering flames of energy within the hand of the white devil fusing together into a singular orb, pulsating with crushing surges of raw unhinged power… as the two finally struck forth their devilish claws, each intending doom upon the other… the malevolent radiance of force as the energies fused together was all but astounding in its destruction…. chaos incarnate… was unleashed.
Utterly surpassing either ones previous display of power, the very second the two devious entities clashed in their apocalyptic struggle…. the release of the uncontrollable energy was vast… power beyond measure…. beyond comprehension… radiance of emerald and ebony surges burst froth from the two… and the result… would shake the very cosmos to its core. The very wave of energy tore the planet apart in but a singular burst… the ensuing field of the blast utterly vaporizing all it touched… obliterating all existing matter in its destructive path… a massive chunk of the unfortunate planet… blown to bits in the wake of their battle. In the aftermath… all that was left beneath was the exposed molten core of this now broken world, seeping out like a gaping wound… slowly but surely tearing itself apart. Its balance utterly shattered… entire nations.. civilizations, culture… billions upon billions of lives… life in itself… gone… all gone…. with the two beings responsible for this monumental transgression… still hovering weightlessly above this dieing husk of a world, inches away from one another… both… unharmed… still starring at each other…waiting.

The heat from the core would be unbearable for most but the two survivors, the source, would stand unaffected by the inferno. Into the vastness of space, the core's contents poured freely, cooling once it was far enough and drifted away to take their place amongst the stars. But in the face of the sudden destruction that their powers had caused, Amoura's charcoal eyes widened in disbelief and horror at the terrible sin she helped act out. All things beautiful were now piles of ash; a distant, sad memory. Then, in a huge wave, she felt it: the deaths of thousands if not millions.
And it was all because of herself and Validus.
With this dawning on her, the rage began to fade as did the corruption that had tainted her Devil Trigger. How could she have been so foolish to let her emotions get the better of her? Maricul's words was a double edged sword that constantly twisted in her—Amoura shook her head at her rash choices. Showing that she wasn't helpless through brute force and raw power won't benefit at all. Had she learned nothing from those lessons in the past? Enough scolding.
Her gold hues fixated on Validus and determination, not sheer emotion, set in. If she were to destroy this creature she'll have to have a combination of power and tactic. Her mind quickly went to work and she first tested an idea on a piece of rock that had floated through the air from the eroding planet. Her pale digits moved in a fluid motion, she concentrated on it and the theory was a success: it's overall molecular structure fell apart to it's basic components.
With ease she leapt from the building, and slowly descended to the ground. As soon as her feet touched it, the cracked cement began to slowly dissolve away into nothing. To make matters worse, the structure she once stood on was collapsing into...ash. In fact, everything behind her was falling apart rapidly. Metal moaned, stone cracked, and eventually gave way into ruin. This seemed to be a domino affect considering all the others were falling in suit. At this rate, the whole city may fall.
The demoness' head slowly bowed, her tattered locks flowing around her form in an eerie fashion. From her mouth came sharp hisses, though words were mingled with a feral-type language that no one could possibly understand.
However, one word escaped her that all could hear:
"Raze..."
Amoura had done it before the night herself and Ranka had to go against Alucard but she never remembered...until now. The Night Angel again looked to Validus but there were words on her mind that simply had to be spilled.
"Funny isn't it? That you were the match to light the fuse for so many catastrophic events that took place in my life." The demoness let her arms hang limp at her sides for the time being, "Because of you I was unable to return to the one I loved to tell him all was forgiven, I didn't see my friends--no, my family-- and I lived in hell for twenty-five years." A feint glow emitted from her, "But because of all that had come to pass I have become stronger. I'm not that 'foolish girl' you dubbed me to be the first time we encountered."
The air grew deathly still, silent, as if all was being sucked away for something grand. The tumbling of the rocks, the pouring of the magma, the shattering of the remaining surface; it all froze in place, trapped in a moment of time. Amoura shattered the silence when it was starting to become unbearable:
"My life will nevermore be for your taking."
Then it all resumed but something happened. Like sand slipping through the hourglass, part of the planet suddenly dissolved away to basic components—it was falling apart much quicker now and they'd be fully exposed to the harshness of space if neither evacuated soon. Amoura chose to stay for the time being.
Then, he will begin to feel it. Unstable. Falling at the seams. His molecular structure was rapidly falling apart and the more power she exerted into this, the faster it spread. Her arms slowly began to rise from her sides as the attack against him became more intense and faster in its destructive path; from her lips she uttered one word:
"Raze..."
And the rest of the attack was unleashed in a violent torrent.

At last it befell her... the act that these two beasts had committed. In her blackened eyes he saw it clear as day... guilt... the weight and cries of damned souls beyond measure all tearing at her being. Her near limitless power seeming to fail, and just as Validus was to once again label her an utter failure…. It changed. The currents, the waves of her unstable power.. fluctuating. Deviations rose within her demonic being… banning the way for something which he did not expect… control. The once roaring fire within her, burning uncontrollably died down, was stilled… focused, and order was restored… an interesting development indeed, one that even narrowed the inhuman eyes of the white devil, and strangely enough, he did not seem concerned at the very least… in fact he was intrigued. One would even say….. pleased at this evolution, as if it was what he hoped for all along. Crossing his arms as these events took place before his terrifying visage, Validus still did not act… but merely continued to uphold this seemingly unbreakable fusing of their gaze, he watched… and waited, analysing each and every potent detail of her composition… his tail swaying back and forth behind him, almost hypnotic in nature… his grand wings calmly steadying the balance of his being in this void of space… as he continued to watch… and wait.
Even as her foolish words reached his ears.. still he did nothing, lost within his own thoughts, considering that perhaps he had yet judged her prematurely. As was evident in her words, she still did not understand, she may very well exert the control that she lacked, but still.. the hybrid failed to understand the reasons for these, the events of her life. Thus in her final words… she was once again wrong, she was still the same foolish little girl. But he would enlighten her, she would need… no… she must be made to understand why. As it was made clear to him, so it would be made clear to her, that this… whether she would acknowledge it or not was her destiny. It is said that the rule of the universe is that there are some things which cannot be fought, that cannot be killed… that cannot be outrun, and in this, neither man nor God can ever hope to rise above the vestiges of this most curios doctrine.. ..‘Fate‘… how perpetual.
In the aftermath of these thoughts however, it would seem the focus of the white devil was disturbed, as the fate of the debris was now called upon him in one fell word.
‘Raze’
Her attempt while admirable and would have decimated any foe with ease, still failed to destroy its target. As with all that had come before, it was yet another futile effort. While all manner of living beings… objects… rock and stone seeming to give ground at her attack, vanishing into the ether. Their very composition dwindling into nothingness as the atoms composing their structure were viciuosly ripped apart with wave upon wave of her onslaught… still the white devil stood defiantly before her. Parts of his being seeming to evaporate off his demonic form with each wave of force hurled towards him… only to be replaced in nearly the very moment they were destroyed. Slowly at first… growing rapidly…. the cellular regrowth of his body as if evolving on the fly… until finally, utilizing his newly gained control of the raging energies within his being… the very oscillations of energy nourishing each horrific molecule composing his being, proceeded to match the very vibrations upsetting the delicate collective of atoms of his form… tuning it until eventually bypassing her attack completely… and now stood before her, once more.. unharmed.. and unaffected. Yet he did not retaliate, his form never shifted from the calm unmoving fiend which had hovered lighly in front of her all throughout her attack, instead… he would give her a response to her words,. Thus the stern line of his lips broke at last, and cold calculative words were finally spoken, however cryptic they may be for her to grasp…. either she would understand, or she would not.
‘It was necessary…. bringing pain and ruin upon you… orchestrating events forcing you to choose, to act.. to survive.. to endure… all of it… but a prelude. Never have you wondered…. why it is that you prevail, that you live on in the face of odds beyond the impossible… that even after I destroyed you completely you dragged yourself from depths of hell itself… that I were the architect in many of these events is no coincidence… as I have said… it was necessary.’

It didn't work. With his manipulation over his body it was to be expected but not trying would have been giving up too easily. Amoura's arms again rested at her sides. Instead of being greeted by another failed attack on his part he began talking. What he shared left her in shock.
"It was stubbornness. I was separated—" Amoura stopped and began to think over his words. Logically, her escape from hell in such a short amount of time was impossible. The many attacks she had faced at Mortis should have killed her but all it did was severely injure. Other's attempts to kill her failed. The Arashi didn't even kill her when that attack should have spelled her demise or even at the cave when it was awoken. And Validus was incapable of destroying her. None of the Council Member's attempts to get rid of the Night Angel succeeded.
But why? What made her so invincible? Then the image of a white mask broke through her train of thought. Was it a curse to never stay dead from the First Aspect? Death always escaped her when its power took hold.
"Why? What is going on? Why put me through all of that for something necessary? Is something happening in the future? Does it have to do with one of the Arashi?" Their time here was limited since the planet was reaching its final moments before falling apart...
