“Luckily for you indeed. So you’re saying you can’t be harm at all? No weaknesses that you know of?”
Kara was turning out to be a natural Super Girl. But she must have possessed weaknesses of some kind. Hopefully she wouldn’t discover these weaknesses at the worst possible time if she was serious about becoming a superhero. Kara certainly had the heart, determination, and of course, the powers to fulfill the role. Tori started to wonder how the others would react to this information about Kara.
“I think you should ease up on the demonstration when you tell the others. There’s no telling how they’ll react to this news. It’s not every day you learn your best friend is an alien. If you still plan to go through with telling them, that is.”

Kara shook her head. After the things she has experienced through these powers Kara doubted that there was anything in this world or the next that could harm her. "Tori, I managed to endure Genesis' astrosphere, the vacuums of space, I traveled the entire solar system at warp speeds and even prove to be immune to the heat of the suns at close range and all I had to do was hold my breath the whole way. Nothing can harm me. I'm invincible!" The excitement kept growing in her soul and Tori would be able to see it in her eyes and all over her face. She couldn't wait to get out there and start beating up the bad guys. What could stop her? Nothing! That's what! "Of course I'm going to tell them! They're my friends, why wouldn't I? I'm thinking I can cool a drink with my breath and then heat it up with my heat vision when I show them. What do you think?"

Tori crossed her arms in front of her chest and cocked an eyebrow at her friend.
“If you’re invincible why do you have to hold your breath in space?”
Tori hoped the flaw in her thinking would become all too clear now after that question. Already Tori had spotted a weakness even with all of Kara’s amazing abilities, despite being able to endure the vacuums of space she still had to breathe like everyone else and Tori was sure something on Genesis could end up matching her in a fight. Everything had its weaknesses, even the strongest of foes had a weakness hidden somewhere within them.
“Know your limits, Kara.”

Kara was getting in over her head and it was up to Tori to drag her back down to reality. Already she had managed to note a flaw in her defenses and if a friend could see it, then an enemy could exploit it. Although it made her feel very foolish Kara was glad to have Tori there to make her realize when she was missing the big picture. "You're right. What would I do without you, Tori?" Kara honestly didn't want to hear an answer to that question. She couldn't imagine a life without Tori by her side. The very idea made her feel sorrow. "So we know at least one thing I can't do. Best not let the bad guys ever figure that one out, right?"

“Fly too close to the suns probably.”
Tori obviously meant that figuratively since Kara had already confessed to flying too close to the suns out in space not too long ago. The redhead uncrossed her arms and lowered them back down to her sides as she looked at Kara with a look of concern. Clearly questioning how serious she was taking all of this as jumping into the role of “superhero” wasn’t anything to take lightly and Kara felt far too cheery for considering such a bold step.
“Kara, I know you mean well but, are you sure you’re ready for this? It’s a very big commitment you’re talking about and I feel you’re not taking it seriously. I mean, we’re both still teenagers. Don’t you want to finish High School at least? Who knows, you may even want to go to College. If you choose to go through with this there’s a lot you’ll have to sacrifice.”
Tori didn’t really have any note of reference on being a superhero, unless you count comic books, but she had spoken with enough “real-life” heroes to know the kind of sacrifices you had to make and those were people who didn’t have any superpowers or needed to keep up a secret identity and literally live two different lives. Tori wasn’t sure if Kara was really ready for this.

From the concern look on Tori's face, Kara got the feeling she was about to get one of the redhead's famous talks, and she didn't disappoint. Did she really come across as such an immature kid? Kara shook her head before replying to Tori's speech. "Don't get me wrong, Tori. All joking aside I know how serious this is and have given it a lot of thought. I still want to do it. I've been given a great gift. If I sit back and not use that gift to help people then what kind of person does that make me? No. I'm ready and willing to make the sacrifices that come with being a hero. This is my home, not just Moon Valley but all of Genesis, I'm ready to defend it."

Although Tori didn’t smile to indicate it, she was happy. Happy that at the very least Kara had given this a lot of thought and was ready for all the potential and definite hardships that awaited her on the path of super-heroism. Tucking her hands into her pockets and shifting weight from one foot to the other the redhead only had one more thing to say; a favor to ask of Kara.
“Just…. promise me you’ll be careful. Okay?”

"Have you ever known me to be anything but?" That was a bad question to ask from the start because she hasn't been, Tori of all people would know it and she would be able to tell by Kara's facial expression that she had answered her own question already. "For you, Tori, I'll be extra careful. Promise!" And Kara never broke a promise to a friend. That much was always certain.

The redhead cocked another eyebrow at Kara with her question but she didn’t even need to answer verbally or with her expression, Kara realized the answer all on her own. After the promise was made Tori simply looked at her friend for a moment, having a feeling that this moment was leading to something very big which would shape Kara from here on out. Hoping for the best Tori wrapped her arms around her best friend and pulled her in for a hug.
“Never forget who you are, Kara.”
With that said Tori pulled away from the hug and headed inside, waving back at her friend as she did so.
“Goodnight!”
Tori quietly crossed the threshold into the back of her home as to not wake up her parents as now, made her way to bed.

Wrapped around the grip of Tori's warm embrace Kara began to feel a great calm wash over her, for what reason she couldn't begin to explain with words. The lines of friendship was beginning to blur for the female as new feelings started digging their way up to the surface, she could feel herself developing much stronger feelings for her friend than what was there originally. All with one touch. It felt right, yet as far as she was aware Tori meant for none of this with the simple action but Kara couldn't control what she was feeling.
"I'll never forget." she replied, feeling cold once Tori's arms left her and she watched her go inside. "Goodnight!" Pondering over everything she just felt, Kara turned around and soared up high into the air to embrace the welcoming breeze of the cool air. Perhaps a good fly was all she needed to clear her head.
