The rain stained her clothes and her hair. She didn't seem to mind even though her aunt will fuss at her once she gets home. The rain was okay even though her shoulders where quivering a little. What Joshua said was true. She didn't seem to be from around here. It was because of the way she acted, regardless of how she looked. Aida finally lifted her head to look at him.
"Just this once." She cupped her hand slightly above her eyes and looked up a little and around. "We can make a round trip across town and back at the church." Why did she want to stop at the church? It was definitely a surprise and she couldn't wait. Aida walked off slowly, showing Joshua around the town.

Joshua smiled softly, this world had churches too. "I would be honored, Aida." He offered her his hand before walking with her. The city was large, and the buildings all seemed very old, this world seemed to fascinate him. Joshua showed just how much a tourist he was, not understanding signs around him and drawing stares from the locals.
He felt at home with Aida though, something that expelled doubts and lowered his personal defenses. He stopped and looked up at an ancient castle, a towering structure of wood and paper. "What's that?" He pointed up to the tower with his golden finger, leaning a little closer to Aida as he pointed, fascinated by the massive structure.

Joshua was so kind to offer her his hand. She took his hand before taking him on the big tour. She wondered what Joshua was thinking about. Aida had no clue how alien this world was to Joshua. The tour was over and Aida was taking Joshua to the church. Her mind had wandered a little and she was about to pass it right up until Joshua pointed it out. Their church looked like an ancient castle. It used to actually be a castle though.
Aida stopped and looked at the church. "The church." She walked the steps, going inside the church with Joshua. At the center of the church at the very top was a big ball that glowed brightly. It was so beautiful and looked pure. Although no one seemed to be able to see it. No one but Aida and she wondered if Joshua could see it. Aida slowly walked to the middle and looked straight up at the ball.

Joshua followed her into the church, his mind wandering a little as well, he took in the beauty of the building, looking at the religious symbols he did not recognize. Joshua then turned his head back to Aida, he smiled as he looked at her, wet clothes draped against her body. He turned his head upwards, looking where her eyes had led him. He saw the mural on the ceiling, yet his eyes did not seem to pick up what Aida was seeing. "It's lovely."
Joshua looked back at Aida, then looked away slightly, he smiled a little to himself. "Do you come here often? Or did you just want to come here with little old me?" He chuckled a little, then looked back to Aida. She held his attention completely, he watched her as she at the ceiling, at something that seemed to hold her attention but he couldn't seem to notice.

Aida continued to look up at the ceiling. She was glad there wasn't a draft or cold air conditioning in the church. Any cold air and it would make her turn into a human popsicle. Aida ignored the mural on the ceiling and still stared at the big ball. "It's not lovely. It's beautiful." Aida took small steps in a circle, somehow managing to not bump into any of the pews.
"At least once a week.." She lowered her head a little her eyes lingering on Joshua for a few seconds before she looked back up to the ceiling. "Don't you see it? That beautiful bright ball in the center at the very top...It's giving off a sense of purity, and protection..and possibly knowledge." Aida slowly started pacing back and forth. She seemed to have a strange atmosphere around her now as if she was slowly changing into this different kind of person. Though she tried to hide it and contain it.

Joshua blinked a few times, A glowing ball? He felt at peace in the church, but that seemed to be coming more from being close to Aida. He looked up again, squinting and straining his eyes. All he saw was the mural, he looked down slowly. Was it because he wasn't of this world? Was this something hidden from those alien silver eyes of his. His voice was filled with shame, barely a whisper. "I... I don't see anything. Just the mural."
He looked up again, staring to the ceiling "But I feel at peace, I feel warm. It could be... because I'm not from around here." Joshua felt it, the King of Hands turned his head again, his eyes once again taking in the features of Aida. He felt that change, something deep within him reacting to this. He looked up at the ceiling again, still not seeing what Aida had seen but knowing there was something there, knowing that she saw the beautiful light above her.
"It's up there, even though I can't see it, I know it's there." His grip on her hand tightened, and he stared up with her, eyes still straining to see what it was that she was experiencing.

"It's not that your not from around here." Aida started to hum softly a random tune in her head. "Can't you hear it?" She murmured. Aida took a spin, smiling, still holding Joshua's one hand. "The gears are turning turning turning...It's burrowing up from deep under...Tearing the veil to shreds..It wants in." She said before sighing. "It doesn't make sense but it soon will." Aida stopped and looked up to Joshua blinking slowly. "I forgot what I said...What did I say?" Slowly she tilted her head to the side the strange atmosphere disappearing from her.

Joshua let it soak in. On one side this girl sounded completely bananas, while on the other side... Against all forms of better judgement he seemed to believe her completely. Like he could simply tell there was truth to it, like her far flung prophetic declaration was a fact he'd learned in school. Either way she told him to forget it.
Damn skippy.
"A-Alright..." He tried to suppress just how in awe he was as he watched Aida. She seemed to completely hold his attention, seconds felt like minutes to him. He smiled, then looked away, looking around the church. "This place is so calming..."
