Code: RowenJennaElizabeth"This is boring!" Elizabeth dangled her legs over the edge of an edifice that the others have decided to stake as a lookout for any suspicious activity. "Can't I just go shopping or something? I mean, Nordstrom is right down there!" Her bright blue eyes eyed the department store longingly but she was rapped on the head by Rowen.
"Get your mind off that shit. We've got a job to do." The Necromancer rested a large, claymore-like, bone blade across his shoulders and tapped his fingers against the hilt. "You think we're happy just sitting around doing nothing? Jenna got a summon and we need to make sure that it's something legit."
"Ugggh!" Elizabeth pouted at him, folded her arms, hunched forward and grunted, "I can't even just look at their perfumes...?"
Rowen sighed, rolled his eyes and turned from Elizabeth to let her sulk by herself. She was so annoying when she was in this mood. And when she started purring, he smacked his palm against his face. This meant only one thing and he was going to call her out on it: "Stop looking at the men's department."
"Oooh but one of them is such a hottie!" Elizabeth wiggled her shoulders and kept ogling. "I'd love to have him for a--OUCH!" The vampire rubbed her head where Rowen bopped her with the flat edge of his massive blade, "Stop trying to overcompensate what you lack!" She screamed.
"You never saw me naked and you never will. Now shut up and be patient. She's coming."
Right on cue, Jenna appeared next to Elizabeth in her adult form donned in jeans and a long sleeved shirt, "False alarm," she stated in a fairly deep, raspy, slow tone, "it seemed important at first but...the details stated otherwise."
"We waited this entire time for nothing?! Uuuuuuuugh!" Elizabeth kicked up her legs, caring little that she was flashing her panties to any passerby and rolled back. The school-girl type outfit she wore could hardly be taken seriously.
"Not quite. I heard a scream over there." He pointed to the west at a building in the "bad side" of town, "We better investigate. Elizabeth? If you will."
"Fiiiiiiine!" Elizabeth winked at Rowen and all three lifted off to the location. Upon their arrival, she cut off the power and they free fell from the sky and, in unison, landed in a kneeling position in front of the doors. Everything was so well coordinated.
"Elizabeth. How many inside?"
Elizabeth squinted her eyes and all were silent for at least fifteen seconds, "I hear ten heart beats. I smell demons. Might be that gang that's been causing issues."
Jenna glanced at Rowen, "Entrance."
Rowen smirked, took Jenna's gun, aimed and shot off the lock.
"Let's get this party started."
Elizabeth ran in first, got her "My Little Friend" off her back, cocked it and shouted: "WAHOOOO!" before gunning two of them down. The vampiress was so trigger happy...
Jenna snapped her fingers and a large gust of flame circled around her body to singe two more of them.
Rowen extended his hands and dark purple trails of magic shot from his fingers to collide with the heads of two others. They shrieked in agony and fell to the floor, overcome with pain from the Mind Flay.
Time to get the rest.

Another demon put down, another who knows how many civilians kept safe. Impaled upon the slender blade of his sword, the Dark Knight's latest victim had its soul rent from its body and added to his growing pool of familiars. They numbered two dozen now, but knowing how innumerable Amoura's were almost intimidated the man; how long must he continue to kill before he had built up a force anywhere near that size?
The sudden extinguishing of the lights drew Sparda's thoughts to a much more pertinent matter. By mere scent and hearing he could rule out the retreat of the remaining demons... someone was butting in on his job. Looking down at the floor as if expecting to see the intruders, the Dark Knight reached out and examined the new scents on the air. One vampire and two demons; yet their auras were all uncannily similar on a more fundamental level, as if they were related. A few moments more scrutinising their blood scents confirmed that. Strange...
He had taken just three steps towards the shadowed back wall when the gunshots started ringing out. One by one, he could feel the auras of the rest of the demons he was here to eliminate being snuffed out in short order. Whoever these interlopers were, they certainly knew their way around the fodder.
Frowning to himself, the demon melded with the shadows and approached the three from the floors above...

Code: RowenJennaElizabeth"AW YEAH!" Elizabeth gunned down more of the demons, ran out of ammo, reloaded but one came too close for comfort. Her right hand dove into its body, shattered the ribcage and she tore out its still beating heart. Blood gushed onto her clothes and into her eager, open mouth. "Aww, you gave me your heart. Shame you're not my type." The demon fell over and she resumed shooting. Two more down!
Jenna closed her eyes, the flames she conjured grew in intensity and took on the form of an angered Chinese dragon. The extreme heat burned one to ashes.
Another fell at Rowen's large blade.
All three joined together to take out the final one, which was much larger than the rest. Jenna thew out a firebolt, Rowen a Mind Flay to slow it down and the combination of the heated bullets and fire immediately kill their foe on impact.
The first to take note of Sparda's arrival was Elizabeth, then Rowen and Jenna--the realizations were only seconds apart. Jenna snapped her red eyes at the vampiress, Elizabeth looked at her and nodded. All three joined together, held hands and they fell into the shadow that loomed over them from scenery. It was thanks to Rowen's terrakineses did she get a layout of the building via vibrations; there were going to be shadows everywhere on this floor.
The three already had battle tactics planned out, what abilities to be used and so on. Now it was just a matter of waiting for the demon to show up and for him to be taken down.

From a shadowed corner of the ground-floor room to which he had tracked the interlopers, a shapeless mass of darkness emerged, taking form and colour as it dropped to the floor. Landing almost daintily upon his feet, Sparda cast a wary gaze about the empty hall, absently swinging Revelation upon his loosened fingers.
"A vampire, and two demons," he began, seemingly monologuing to the empty air but in fact directly addressing the intruders who he knew could hear him. "For all your differences, you smell... bonded. Related, almost."
With a practiced precision, the demon raised his left hand to adjust his monocle. "I'd certainly like to find out precisely how that's possible... As well as why you've been stealing my kills."

Code: RowenJennaElizabethAfter Sparda finished his monologue, The Lost made their attack. They didn't consider the Dark Knight to be an ally but after years of having to survive together they took no chances. Elizabeth threw her siblings out to different shadows in the room in a well coordinated manner before starting the attack to distract him from the others; she was more capable of taking a deadly hit then them.
Liz flipped through the air and time slowed to allow her to fire off numerous deadly rounds towards his vitals: head, heart, liver and the kidneys. She knew that wouldn't be enough to take down a demon that had this kind of aura and that's when Jenna joined in.
The red-eyed demoness leaped up, extended her hands and a large wave of fire darted towards the Knight which was joined in by a Mind Flay to distract him long enough for those hits to be made. The demons that once tasted death rose anew to fight for the Necromancer. In unison, they pounced at the Dark Knight but something was different about them: they looked like they were starting to rapidly rot away, looking more like corpses than actual demons.
"We're The Lost! It's our job to kill those fuckers!" Elizabeth shouted from the crate she stood on to witness the succession or failure of the attack.

All at once the onslaught came, coordinated to an admirable degree of precision. 7.62mm bullets were always a pain to stand against, tumbling as they did when they entered the body to shred flesh and splinter bone. The messy entrance wounds of the gunshots - and the even less attractive exits - were hidden somewhat by the scorches and burns that spread across his body in the wake of the smaller demon's wave of fire, and the swordsman clutched at his forehead with his free hand in an instinctive physical attempt to ease the searing mental pain that overcame him.
Then the slain demons rose to assail him, and he decided to stop faking.
The lunge of the five rotting demons was stopped short by a purple blur that danced among them, flitting from one to the next across the room in the blink of an eye. Having disappeared from the centre of the room, the demon re-entered view in the very next instant in time at the back of the mob of risen demons, Revelation's blade dripping with partially congealed blood. A moment later, the demons literally fell apart, spraying blackened blood across the floor as their severed heads and limbs dropped off their bodies.
In a single fluid spin of the demon's body, his counterattack came. He turned on the spot in an instant, hurling his bloodstained blade at the first of his attackers in a Round Trip so brutally powerful it would cross the room in mere milliseconds and cleave the vampiress' body in half. The demon continued his rotation through another full turn and a half, reaching into the back of his coat; when he stepped out of his spin, his wounds fully healed by this time, Luce and Ombra were clutched in his gloved hands and each was aimed at one of the demons, the sword-wielding boy on his right and the pyromancer in front.
"Never was into sharing the bragging rights."
He squeezed the triggers, and two maelstroms of magically-charged lead roared forth from the muzzles of his precious handguns to blow the interlopers away.

Code: RowenJennaElizabeth"Good work everyone! Now let's take him--the fuck?!" Rowen backed away when he realized that his spell had little to no affect on the Dark Knight. The necromancer spun around in time to watch his deceased puppets get ripped apart by the enemy's blade. With a sneer, he muttered words under his breath, raised his hand above his head and shouted, "Ador ver ash algos noth goth!" A blast of purple-tainted magic fell into the bodies and they immediately began to repair just as Elizabeth was attacked.
The vampiress was well adapt at seeing attacks coming but he was fast. Abnormally fast. Elizabeth managed to move out of the way enough to avoid being cleaved but not to prevent injury. The flesh of her stomach was sliced and she cringed before falling off the crates, clutching her wound. My Little Friend went skittering away but within arm's reach. Damn, that hurt! The blood that was spilled from the demons crawled in her direction.
"Elizabeth!" Jenna looked at Sparda in time to see the bullets coming. The demoness grabbed Rowen and both disappeared before contact could be made. From behind, Rowen threw his large sword towards his torso and Jenna unleashed another torrent of fire.
"Mother fucker! No wonder those demons were working for him!" Elizabeth was back on the crates but this time with her blade in hand. Bullets were too easily dodged. "You're gonna pay for what you've been doing to this city!"
Then, they unleashed their next attack. The demons that have been repaired rise up and leap at Sparda just as Jenna lit them on fire. With that distraction, Elizabeth shadow hopped and came down from above, aiming to cleave him in half! Let's see how he likes that!

They were fast and well-coordinated, he'd give them that. But these children were fresh, and their powers immature; almost hopelessly so when pitted against the likes of the opponent in front of them now, though they may not know it. It was time, he decided, to show them just how outclassed they really were.
The dull whistle of a blade through the air reached his ears almost as soon as the sword left the boy's hand and the Dark Knight whirled around to face it, taking aim with Ombra in mid-turn and clicking off a single shot in an attempt to knock it off its course. The second wave of flame he outright avoided - by falling backwards into his own shadow.
When he reemerged in the same place, already his foes were upon him. The risen demons, their bodies crudely reconstructed, were set alight and lunged at him again, and above he knew the vampire had descended from the shadowed ceiling to attack with her own blade. With their teamwork, they seemed to be backing him against the wall...
"Tch. Petulant kids."
The wall behind him seemed to come to life, the darkness cast across its surface lunging forth as precisely ten of his demonic familiars erupted from within, barging forward into the zombie-like puppets of the necromancer and gleefully tearing their bodies asunder. Everywhere they stepped, the spilled blood was absorbed, and from the risen corpses of the boy's minions their very souls were ripped and sent to join Sparda's familiars. The demon himself stepped backwards, sinking into the blackness and vanishing.
The vampire girl, however, was in for the biggest treat.
Her falling attack was stopped in its tracks by four skeletal hands that reached out of the shadows above and grabbed her by the arms and legs, immobilising her. As they retracted quickly, pulling her up into the darkness with the intent of depositing her in a top-floor room, isolated from her friends, a dark chuckle echoed in her mind and those of her two companions.
"Allow me to show you how a real demon fights."[/color][/i]

Code: RowenJennaElizabethRowen's blade was shot off course, spun through the air and sank into one of the crates, demolishing the contents that remained within--they were bombs. Jenna stretched out her hand, suppressed the explosion but had something else in mind with all that energy. With a flick of her wrist, the mass went flying at the Dark Knight and resumed its eruption and quiet violently so. Rowen and Jenna both ducked to avoid flaming, flying debris.
The vampire got lucky in avoiding it.
"Wha-EEP!" Elizabeth was grabbed by skeletal hands and thrown to the top floor. Flabbergasted and confused, she sat there, hair in her face, trying to digest what the hell just happened. Alright, if that's how he's going to play, then it's time to up the stakes! Elizabeth stepped onto the nearest shadow and reappeared into the room with the others.
Playtime's over.
"Elizabeth, Rowen--Beta 234. GO!"
The two stood together, pointed at Sparda and pressed their arms together from the shoulder down to combine their efforts. Around The Legend, the earth shook but it was only a distraction from the real attack. Uneven portions of the ground dove up, Elizabeth tightened her fist and the rocks exploded in a mass of dust and dirt to conceal them. Jenna contributed by twirling her fingers, creating a fiery, hollow pillar around him.
Then they struck.
From the shadows cast by the remaining debris, they all jumped up, weapons draw. Jenna's fists were aglow with flame, ready to get at his head, Elizabeth's blade was up to, again, attempt to cleave him in half and Rowen threw out his chain weapons to trap him so they could make their attack.

His retreat into the shadows had saved him from the exploding debris sent flying at him by the pyromancer, but upon the sight of the vampiress rejoining the fight in short order, Sparda couldn't help but emerge from his hiding place exactly where he'd entered it, taking a few steps away from the wall and standing before the three as if mockingly daring them to attack again. When it finally did come (they codenamed their tactics? How adorable!), it was in the synergised manner he was learning to expect from this three-man team.
Shame it would all be to no avail.
Even as they approached from the shadows, they would feel the the room suddenly chilling, as if a blizzard had just engulfed the building outside. When they emerged from the darkness, ready to strike, Sparda's sword had disappeared; in its place were a pair of enormous, crystalline axes, one in each hand.
The demon flashed a confident smirk, and with a casual swing of Karyos' blades, unleashed a thunderous wave of ice and supercooled air that would snuff out the hollow pillar of flame and chill the very flesh off his opponents' bones. This, however, was a mere cover for the real danger facing the children; behind them, three great skeletal hands rose out of the darkness, clenched into fists, and swung themselves down at the Dark Knight's foes to smash them into the floor with bone-crushing force.

Code: RowenJennaElizabethAgain, a well-coordinated attack failed miserably. The three managed to avoid the deadliest of moves from the Dark Knight but they began to realize they were way in over their heads. They had no idea what this demon was capable of, and vice-versa, but if they were going to be successful against him they will have to learn more about him. Elizabeth had bats, could turn into mist—information could be gathered by her.
It was time to leave.
Freezing, bruised and beaten, they all joined hands and Elizabeth shadow hopped them out of the room. There was no point in going against something that could potentially kill them. Outside, the vampires shot them into the sky and over the city for a quick getaway. If he was persistent then they’ll have to go down fighting or rely on Jenna to make their true escape.

The children's retreat was not opposed - merely observed. Rising through the shadows to the roof of the building, his wounds healed and Karyos' axes in his hands, the Dark Knight allowed himself a smile of smug satisfaction as he watched their collective silhouette shrink away into the night. At least they were intelligent enough to cut their losses when it came down to it.
"Impressive synergy as a team," the demon mused out loud, "but I fear you'll fall painfully short if dragged into battle individually. All the same, I imagine we'll meet again in the very near future..."
The swordsman smiled to himself, banishing Karyos; the two axes crystallised and shattered in his grasp. Turning, he strode casually to the edge of the roof, peering over to make sure the drop was unobstructed.
"I look forward to round two."
Adjusting his monocle, the Dark Knight stepped off the building and disappeared into the darkness.
