History: Anna Katherine Frost was born in Buffalo, New York in April of 1983, the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn Frost. She spent the first fourteen years of her life as a military brat, living in no less than 18 different places by the time of her father's death overseas in 1997, coincidentally the same day that Buffy Summers was briefly dead at the hands of the Master.
Anna's mother Evelyn followed less than six months after in November of the same year, the loss of her husband too much for her, and the stress inducing a fatal heart attack. Anna was 'adopted' by a friend and old war buddy Eric Kingston. Eric saw the anger in the young girl and began training her in both military tactics and unarmed combat, as well as building on the base knowledge of martial arts that her father had started.
At some point in 1999 while Anna was 17, and shortly after the fall from grace of the slayer Faith Lehane, Anna was contacted by the watcher Lydia Chalmers and told of her status as a potential. Lydia requested that Anna accompany her back to England for training, but both Anna and Eric refused.
Anna graduated seventh in her class at the high school at McCarthy Army base, and was accepted into officer training at Pendleton, where she thrived for the first three years of the program, but tragedy struck again with only four months left before she was set to complete the training in 2003, when Anna and Eric were attacked by the First's bringers at their home. The two fought brilliantly, managing to kill all of their assailants, but not before Eric took a fatal stabbing by one of the harbingers.
Anna dropped out of Pendleton Academy, and stayed in town only long enough to set Eric's affairs in order and attend his funeral before taking his old '87 Camero on the road, setting off on a road trip in search of a new life.
About 2 months into her travels, Anna was hit by Willow's slayer activation spell and crashed her car into the side of a building due to the disorientation it caused.
She soon after resumed her road trip, now having a purpose: to find anyone who can tell her more about who she truly is.
