Disguises (Open)

[Loki]

Loki had gone into hiding ever since the confrontation with the two redheaded brats he ran into on the road outside of the forest area. Being in such a small town definitely left the God of Mischief at a disadvantage as news of his battle was already all over the place and would no doubt serve Thor in his task of finding him. Loki was also nowhere closer to finding the Tesseract. He would need to come up with something quickly if he wanted to find it before his brother. What Loki needed was someone to use as a tool, someone far more useful than a little girl. Someone to spread his influence over this miserable piece of land.

Loki walked across the pavement with a hood over his head, holding onto his staff which was now disguised as a walking stick. Much the same way as he did back during his time on earth. It had the same effect here as well as people simply passed him by without so much as a second glance in his direction. While Loki continued to walk he began to see campaign signs through the city. The town was overseeing an election for a new Mayor. This was perfect. If he could get his hands on one of the candidates then he could run for Mayor through them, win and have this city in the palm of his hands. They could also help him locate the Tesseract and through that Loki could begin taking over this world one city-state at a time. And so he set out through Moon Valley to find the candidate that best suited his needs.

[Alex]

Buffy pulled her face out of the ground in a daze, nearly being blinded by the dual suns that shone brightly in the sky. Holding up her arms to shield her eyes from them as she grunted. Hearing movement from the left and right of her Buffy quickly rolled back and got up into a stand with her fists up only to find that the two beside her was Xander and Willow also getting up to their feet. Relaxing, Buffy lowered her arms and helped her two friends up to their feet.

"Is everyone okay?" Buffy asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine," Willow replied.

"Nothing appears- Oh, God. Oh, God!"

"What? Xander, what?"

"My eye! I can't see anything out of my left eye!"

"Xander!"

Xander stopped and slowly took his hand away from his eye patch, laughing nervously as he remembered his present condition.

"Everyone is fine then. We just need to find out where we are."

"We're definitely not outside the crater. All right we can do this. We just have to find some people and find out where we are then meet up with the others."

"We're in Moon Valley."

"Or we can just summon up the mumble jumbo and find out that way."

"There's a sign."

"Where?"

"Blind spot."

"Not funny, Will."

"Sorry, hon."

The three looked over to the "Welcome to Moon Valley" sign that stood overhead the entrance of the small mountain town. Assuming that there would be people in this town the three set off in that direction. Upon entering the city they saw the many campaign signs all around and the few people who were roaming the streets. Buffy's eyes finding the hooded male up ahead with the weird walking stick, sensing something off about him as the three walked.

"Something wrong, Buff?"

"Hooded man with a creepy walking stick at five o clock."

"Where?"

"Blind spot."

"Still not funny."

The three saw Loki up in the distance, speaking quietly amongst themselves as they were careful to not be seen staring by the person.

"I definitely got the case of the bads."

"Well it's day out and I'm not getting any 'bump in the night' feelies. Let's keep moving unless..."

[Loki]

Loki paid no attention to the three that had entered town. Instead his eyes fell upon the police car that came driving up to his position. Straight away the God of Mischief was ready for what this foolish mortal would try to do but they drove right by him and stopped in front of Buffy, Xander and Willow. Two police officers getting out of the car and addressing the three. Wanting some form of ID or else they'd be taken away for questioning. It looked like his unannounced arrival before had caused Moon Valley to be more suspicious of new folk. This could be used to his advantage.

[Alex]

"Looks like we have company."

"Are right. We can handle this. Just be cool. Cool like a cucumber."

"Xander..."

"Shutting up."

"Hi," said the police officer on the right.

"Hello."

"You new in town?" asked the one on the left.

"You can say that."

"You guys have any ID on you?" asked the one on the right.

"We do but I don't know how good it is seeing that we aren't from around here."

"We're gonna have to take you downtown and process it."

The three didn't put up an argument. Last thing they wanted to do was get on the bad side of the authority here and who knows? Maybe from there they could get answers about how they ended up here. Entering the cop car Buffy watched Loki from the corner of her eyes. Keeping a watch on him as the cops prepared to ride off. There was just something about the man that made her weary and from past experiences when Buffy got this feeling it usually meant something bad was right down the line.

[Loki]

Well, that simplified things. With the trio taken into police custody Loki was freed to go about his business. Spotting a person passing by with a campaign button supporting West Arcane, Loki grabbed him by the shoulder to get his attention. When the man turned he received a light tap with Loki's staff, his eyes turning blue as the God of Mischief spoke.

"Take me to Mr. Arcane."

[Alex]

The three were quiet in the back of the police car. Not exactly how they wanted to spend their day, mind you. But no good could come with fighting the police. They knew that much from their own world. However duty had other things in mind. Buffy saw what Loki was doing in the rear view mirror and then looked out behind her to confirm. Whatever it was it had taken the man over completely and now was suddenly no time to be detained by police.

"Will, make with the magic," whispered Buffy.

Willow looked over to the officers. Making sure they weren't looking in their direction before casting a sleeping spell on the pair. It was slow enough to allow Willow to steadily put on the brakes so the car would come to a stop right as the two fell fast asleep. Unlocking the doors and opening them, the trio came out of the car and Buffy ran on ahead intercepting Loki and the now controlled citizen.

"Hey! I don't know how things work around here but from where I come when we want someone to do something for us, we say please."

[Loki]

Loki turned his head to look at Buffy who apparently had avoided being taken downtown for the time being. The man now under the influrance simpyl stood there with a blank expression on his face waiting to take Loki to see West. Hearing the blonde's words Loki raised up his staff and spoke.

"My sincerious apologies."

Loki released a powerful energy blast from the staff capable of causing massive damage on impact before turning his attention back to the brain washed citizen.

"Please take me to Mr. Arcane."

[Alex]

Buffy swayed to the right the blue energy nipping her side as she barely managed to evade the blast.

"Oh that is it!"

Buffy cut the open space between them, her eyes watching the staff as she threw her right fist up to punch him in the face.

[Loki]

The woman must have been crazy to run at an armed man with no weapons of her own. What was it with mortals and heroics? It was enough to get on a god's nerves. The brain washed man simply stayed out of the way as Loki waited for Buffy to get close and then swung his staff towards her chest to knock her back before she could land the first punch.

[Alex]

Buffy weaved around the staff when it was swung at her and then performed a chop to knock the staff to the side, opening Loki up to deliver a quick combination of punches towards his chest ending by lifting up her leg to kick the staff out of hand.

[Loki]

Loki's body absorbed the blows and the God of Mischief took full advantage of the staff's abilities to launch a point blank blast of blue energy from the end of it to knock the Vampire Slayer back into the ground before she could finish that kick.

[Alex]

Buffy got hit and was blasted several feet across the air and onto the ground as Willow and Xander was coming up on the scene.

"Buffy!"

The two ran to Buffy's side as she was starting to get back up, Willow at her right while Xander stood near their front to the left.

"You got a lot of nerve pal- Oh my God."

"What?"

"That's Loki!"

"What?"

"Loki. From Marvel."

"Really, Xander?"

"Focusing... Focus. We're not gonna let you get away with this."

Buffy returned to her feet and then walked pass Xander, just in case Loki felt like using more of that blue energy thing on her. She had to get that staff away from him somehow.

"You use that staff for a lot of things? Makes a girl wonder if you even remember how to use your hands."

[Loki]

So, there was actually someone on this planet who knew who he was? That could prove to be quite bothersome if left unchecked. Did that mean there was a Loki native to this world or were these people simply from earth like the Avengers? It didn't matter. They were all just sheep to follow their shepherd. Him. And if there was another Loki running about he would just have to eliminate him as there was only room for one god. Loki's eyes returned to the blonde and then cocked a brow when she spoke.

"Are you coming on to me?"

[Alex]

"I was NOT coming on to you! You guys know I wasn't coming on to him right?"

"Yeah!"

"Absolutely!"

"All right that's it, Xander, my scythe."

"Scythe?"

"As in Slayer."

"Right... Slayer Scythe..."

"Will?"

"I thought you had it."

[Loki]

Loki observed the three finding them to be rather incompetent as people. To think that the children in this world are more competent and has proven to be a bigger thorn than the adults. Perhaps he wasn't all that wrong to take control of that child's mind first over an older individual.

"Can I leave?"
