If there was one thing Ignis was known for in addition to a lunatic cult group that goes to the extreme to appease their goddess, it was the various exploding volcanoes that made up the region. One in particular was called “Fire Dragon Mountain” and it was homed to the one of the most terrifying creatures in Ignis. The volcano shook and erupted, bursting forth more lava from its top that poured down the mountain as large red wings of the beast stretched out through the night's sky, yellow eyes opened towards a village just outside of the volcanic region that has been established on his scared hunting ground, as his large mouth opened and released a heart shattering roar that produced a shockwave through the air as he flew towards his target.
His name was Shooting Star.
Out from behind a rock was the head of the Ignis cult. Her eyes looking up to see the dragon leave his nest where the treasure was said to be inside. Six pyrokinesis users stood behind her clad in the same dark red robes as herself. She looked towards them and spoke.
“The dragon has left his nest. Let us go inside the volcano now and claim the treasure for ourselves before his return.”
The high priestess marched forward, her six servants remaining close to her side and cautious as they made their way towards the entrance of the cave.

So. Many. Shinies.
Sasha's eyes were practically bulging from her sockets at the sight of all the treasure she stumbled upon days ago, but that big, mean dragon hadn't felt like sharing his bounty. No matter how much she begged or what shape she took, she'd end up racing out of his den on fire and wind up losing another pretty dress. Stupid dragon. Stupid fire. Stupid unobtainable shinies. But she knew, oh yes, she knew that giant bully wouldn't remain there for long! He had to eat, or let nature run its course--something.
For the shinies, she knew the meaning of patience, and it paid off handsomely.
The dragon left. Let the looting begin! Sasha dove into a pile of gold, giggling with glee, and emerged covered in jewelry of all sorts. This dragon sure had a lot of time on his hands to obtain so much treasure! And now, it was all hers!
But what stood out the most was a onyx staff with a red gem atop that appeared to be the dragon's prize. It was separate from the rest, and something about it gave her a case of the willies. Oh yes, she wanted it.
"YOOOOINK!" She grabbed the staff from its pedestal and staggered around with it. She was quite short, and the staff could easily be used for someone more than two and a half times her size. Still, she wanted it, it was her's now!
"My shiny! Shiny! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Shame she was too distracted to see the cultists approaching.

The high priestess and the others with her didn't have a lot of time before the dragon would return to his cave. Because of the value and power that was contained inside the cave's treasure Shooting Star never ventured too far away and for too long. The last thing the high priestess expected to see upon entering the cave was a small blonde holding the Scepter of Domination. The only piece of treasure in the entire cave that she and the cultists want. The high priestess' eyes narrowed as she held up an index finger pointing towards the girl.
“Get the scepter!”
In the seconds to pass Sasha would find herself being bombarded by a storm of flames from the pyrokinesis under the high priestess' command.

"Get the scepter!"
Sasha spun around, scepter held above her head, and blinked in disbelief at the group that just showed up. With a loud "EEEEP!" Sasha began evasive maneuvering. A thick bolt of her hair wrapped around the scepter while the rest of her locks assisted in jumping around the den. The child cartwheeled, flipped, jumped, dove down, and finally imbedded herself against the wall with the assistance of her fingers, which turned black and took on a sharp edge.
"Get your own shinies, meanie heads! I was here first!" The shape shifter stuck her tongue out at them, enlarged it, and blew a wet raspberry in their direction. Now, she had to get out! And quickly lest they take her new shiny! Sasha swiftly climbed along the wall, almost like a spider. What was so important about this staff? Did it have extra treasure? Or maybe some power locked away? What if it also spat out fire?! That would be so cool and she could counter attack them!
"Eat this!" Sasha grabbed the scepter with a free hand--her hair kept helping her climb along--and swished it around in the cultists' direction. No fire? Sasha frowned. Then what did it do?!

Nothing happened. Good. That meant the girl didn't know how to use it that at least bought them some time to take it away before she did. Wiping the spit from her face the high priestess raised up her hands, the pit of lava down below rising up and being hurled towards Sasha's position taking the form of a serpent heading for Sasha's chest.

Sasha screamed, forced her claws from the wall and fell just as the serpent was about to strike her. "Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes?!" Portions of her hair parted, curled, hardened, and gave the shape shifter a good jump soon as they contacted the ground. A loud series of Boing! Boing! Boing! Boing!s followed Sasha as she hopped around the treasure room in search of another exit. Those crazy, fire-totin' women were blocking her way out, and she can't shrink this beautiful shiny with her!
Maybe she can take the gem that rested on top. It was the shiniest portion and she could possibly rush past them. And so, during her hoppings, she could be seen gnawing on the metal that was holding the gem in place. This may take some effort.

The fire serpent hit the cave's wall and set it ablaze. Covering the wall and reaching down to the ground, following Sasha as she tried to get away. Trapping her in a ring of fire as she tried to get the gem of the specter off. Three of the six pyrokinesis users jumped through the ring of fire, parting it temporarily due to their abilities before it closed off after they entered. Once inside they drew their daggers and rushed the shapeshifter.

Sasha squeaked in terror at the fire, and the sudden charges from the pyromancers. What was she going to do?! What was she doing to do?! There was only one thing she could do: go up! Sasha's coil tensed, and she sprang, but she got quite a slash from one of those cultists. The poor girl yelped in pain, narrowly missed the fire and tumbled away. Healing was easy thanks to her shapeshifting, but by the gods, that really stung!
And her pretty dress was ruined.
"MEANIE HEADS! MEANIE! MEANIE! MEANIE!" While throwing her tantrum, Sasha was bashing the staff against stone. Yeah, common sense wasn't strong with this one. Instead of taking the time to make a hasty escape with her prize, she was taking out her anger on what was causing her trouble in the first place.

Watching what the shapeshifter was doing to the specter ignited the high priestess' rage beyond that of what she felt now. Letting out a loud, terrible scream of anger towards the child that was drowned out by a mighty roar. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought the high priestess was just that angry. But it wasn't her. It was something much worse if one could be led to believe it.
Shooting Star has returned.
The high priestess and her pyromancers stepped back as the dragon's yellow eyes stared down upon the shapeshifter from above the volcano. In the midst of its descent, the dragon opened it great wide mouth, baring its teeth and charging up a powerful fire ball from within its throat. It was said in legend that Shooting Star's flames were among the hottest in all of Ignis and it was about to be put to the test here as it released the great fires onto the shapeshifter.

That...was a big-ass dragon. The large bow atop Sasha's head wilted at the sight of this enormous creature poking his head back into his home. He wasn't happy at all. That would warrant a "No shit, Sherlock" response out of someone if she had said that out loud and near someone with a shred of sanity. Oh god, oh god, it was starting to charge up its fire! "Teleport!" Nothing happened. It was starting to get hotter. "TELEPORT! TELEPORT! TELE--" The fire rained down just as Sasha fell back into a portal that opened up behind her.
The terrified child held onto the scepter for dear life, the portal opened up again, and she tumbled...onto the dragon's back. After it closed behind her, she got onto her feet, dusted off her dress, and glared down at Shooting Star. "YOU BIG MEANIE HEAD! TAAAAAKE THIS! AND THIS AND THIS AND THIS!" Sasha repeatedly bashed the scepter against the dragon's scaly skin.

“Girl, That may not be a very wise decision.” Said a voice from above. A simply dressed, golden haired man said on an outcropping overlooking the whole scene . He had been there long enough, remaining unseen as best he could. “Dragons are not very nice when they are annoyed by someone who is little more than an ant to them. Those people tend to become quick meals.” He continued, his voice carrying down to the whole group of people, and the red dragon.
He had been there only long enough to see the cultists very determined to take that scepter back from the strange little girl who could apparently teleport around, and was very agile. Locating the Red Dragon's lair had been relatively easy to find, the cultists were not that skilled at hiding their presence. He had spotted them as he was here trying to locate Shooting Star's lair. There had to be a reason they were all trying to find a place to easily meet their own deaths.
On some of his exploration to this new world, he had heard that this land, Ignis, was the most likely place to locate this world's dragon race. It was only right to come here and try meeting the dragon's of this world, and see how close they were to his own race of beasts. One he has especially heard about was the one named Shooting Star.
This Scepter apparently was what they were wanting, but why? What was it that had those cultists so eager to obtain it?
