ONI SECURE TRANSMISSION ENCRYPTION KEY: BLACK DATESTAMP: 3.4.3234.0002 FROM: CODENAME DEBATER TO: CODENAME SURGEON SUB: POSSIBLE SURVIVAL OF UNSC ALPHA
From reports gathered analyzing the disappearance of the UNSC Alpha during her maiden test runs, there may be a chance that it may have done something completely unexpected: It may have traveled to a whole new dimension. The existence of other dimensions has been speculated by man for ages, but recent research coming from newly discovered forerunner ruins suggest that not only did this ancient civilization create and manipulate life, but time and space itself.
AI construct Ryan has proposed the idea that the ship entered a slip-space anomaly at the exact coordinates where it left and the coordinates it was projected to leave slip-space from. This exact path may have lead the ship into a portal that allowed it to move into the barriers of space and time and possibly exit into a whole different dimension, the possibly of the ship's survival is about fourteen million to one.
Though the investigation will continue, the top brass has decided to start a whole new project around the Alpha's disappearance, in hopes of not just expanding out population, but to protect it from any other threats that may come for us in our own world.
Will we know what happened to the ship? Only time will tell.
This is DEBATER, signing off.
/END TRANSMISSION/
"Beta! where the hell are we?" questioned the ship's captain, a Spartan walking up to the bridge to see what was coming into view: a strange, unfamiliar planet. The entire ship was on high alert, troops readying guns, ships, and ordnance in case of attack, a female figure appearing on the holo-table, pulling up a view of the planet for everyone to see.
"It appears that during our entrance into slip-space from Trevelyan, the ship entered an unseen portal that only exists in the slipstream, our exact coordinates allowing us to enter it without risking our destruction. The distance we traveled however, is exactly as predicted."
"Do we have contact with the Point Of No Return?"
"Nothing. Were cut off, sir." replied one of the deckhands, the captain shaking his head as various locations were being pin-pointed around the planet. Analyzing the data at hand, he points to a location outside a large population center.
"There. We need to land in a open area and try to made diplomatic contact with whatever is living on the surface. As long as we can make peace, we should be able to figure out a way to go home. Now then, Spartan..." the captain said looking up, the soldier saluting him.
"I going to need you to lead a team of marines and a few of the scientists on board on a mission to make contact with whatever is living on the surface. We need to make sure that nothing will come after us. The ship can only go into war for so long before supplies run low."
Jonas nodded, the ship beginning to enter atmosphere, the blast shields going up, the spartan questioning the captain as he began to step away from the bridge.
"Sir, what if can't home? This place doesn't feel right to me, it feels... tense."
"You can ask that question after we find out where the hell are we." was the captain's reply, the frustration steaming out of that comment as the other nodded and left.
"We will get home. I promise." muttered the captain, gripping something in his pocket as the shields went back down, revealing a forested locale below them, a huge city in the distance. Beta came back, hands pulling up panels of data, trying to tap into the local communications network, the captain and the crew on the bridge staring out into the view before them. He shook his head, going right back to work, an ugly glare at everyone else telling them to do so as well.
"Bring the camouflage emitters online. For now, we will only send scout teams out, everyone on board is to stay on alert. You got that, Beta?"
"Yes sir."

It was difficult not to notice the unidentified spacecraft that orbited their planet before finally touching down outside of Kari. Their satellite being the first thing to offer them still images of the ship until their systems were able to pick it up on radar and then it vanished without a trace. Naturally White Queen first assumption was that it simply made itself invisible and that fact became clear when they detected the scout team moving in. Notifying Kain of this sudden development White Queen sent several armored vehicles with gun turrets and armed ground troops to intercept the newcomers. They wouldn't fire unless provoked but at the same time they were ready if the new arrivals decided to become hostile. It wouldn't be long at all until the scout team saw the armored vehicles approaching, forming a barricade in front of them as the leader spoke to them from inside his APC. "This is Kari border control. State your name and purpose and disarm any weapons you may have."

"This is delta squad, we have eyes on heavy artillery at the city border. waiting for your next command, captain."
Cutter stood on the bridge, staying calm as feeds from the pelicans came in, the ground forces formidable, even for a group of the newer D79-TC Gunship pelicans. The transmission from the border patrol solidified his choice as he made his orders.
"Stand down, Delta. We don't need a battle we can't win. Land and made peace with the border patrol. Once we establish a relationship with this city, we will come out of cloak."
The pilots nodded, and on one of the ships, Jonas stood in the cockpit, pushing a button down, opening up the radio to reply to the border patrol's first command.
"This is Major Jonas Dawning of the United Nations Space Command, we come in peace. Permission to land?"

The leader of the border patrol looked into their visor, seeing the White Queen on the other end nodding her head in approval before he replied, "You are clear to land!" They of course never took their eyes off of them and the White Queen herself analyzed them from her place at HQ. Right now both she and the border patrol was on yellow alert.

"Delta squad to Alpha, we are landing to negotiate with the border patrol."
Captain Cutter nodded, Beta popping up again, taking in data feeding in from the scout's pelicans and the hack she had made into the local network.
"It appears this place is a city-state, with a single leader and a high-end artificial intelligence running as well, its name is the White Queen."
"Then you better cut off your hack, the one thing I don't need to happen on this ship is for our systems to get hacked because of of that AI."
Beta nodded, pulling up feeds from the pelicans, the soldiers inside getting ready to exit their drop ships.
"Marines, put all weapons up on safety, holster them. We are here to make nice, not to start a firefight." commanded Jonas, a yes sir coming from all of them. The three scout ships landed, all guns going off-line, the bay-doors opening. Two platoons worth of men filed out, all being lead by a man in a highly advanced suit of combat armor. The soldier faced the patrol, taking off his helmet, revealing a mature face, slightly unkempt black hair and a manicured face, blue eyes waiting to meet whomever leads this place.
"We come in peace, all of our weapons are put up. I would like to ask that you do the same."

The soldiers on site holstered their own weapons. Their leader leaving the armored vehicle and approaching the group with his men close. The other armored vehicles turning their gun turrets to the side as a show of good fate as the leader spoke, meanwhile White Queen continued to watch the proceedings from HQ. "State your business."

Jonas watched the men and their guns go up, a man stepping out of the armored vehicle with his own squad of men come to him, the Spartan nodding as the other asked what they were doing here.
"I am here on the behalf of the crew of our ship, the UNSC Alpha, to ask for safe harbor and supplies. We were on the ship's maiden test run when we passed through a slip-space anomaly and well, ended up in your airspace. We have no intentions of starting a fight we can't win. And of course, if you accept, we will be at your service."

"One moment." The soldier looked into his visor again. His eyes moving over to the monitor of the White Queen who were looking back at him. Nodding her head silently as her signal for them before the soldier looked back to the Spartan. He waved his hand and the border patrol split, giving them access to cross the border. "You're clear to enter. Welcome to Kari."

"Good." Jonas said with a smile, slipping his helmet back on, his hand to his ear, contacting the ship with haste.
"Captain Cutter, you can come out of cover, we are cleared to enter. Just put the crew and the weapons systems at ease, can you?"
"Understood, Spartan. Attention all hands, at ease. All weapons systems are to be put on standby. We are moving into Kari airspace."
The Captain sighed in relief as the scout teams flew back to the Alpha, the hybrid of a Marathon and Charon class vessels, came out of camouflage, its name emblazoned upon the side of the vessel, its various turrets and missile silos closing up, the ship making headway over the border patrol to hover above Kari.
"What are we going to do now, Captain?" Beta asked, shifting her hips as the captain saw the city come into view. It was different than the ones at home, and yet, the architecture was not unlike places he had been to in the past.
"I will be going down to the city with escort to talk to the leaders of this place myself, along with Jonas. I want you to make sure order is kept aboard the ship, got it?"
"Understood."

White Queen continued to watch the visitors as their ship became uncloaked and entered into their airspace. Lights started to guide the ship towards a helipad down below that they could land. Aircrafts already being moved to make room. Kari troops by the helipad on standby as they awaited for the ship to land and the visitors to come out. One of them holding a projector which would be used to transmit the avatar of the White Queen for communications as Kain was currently unavailable to see them in person.

Biting down into her bear claw, Swarm ignored the wind flapping her scarf about as she sat on one of the tops of a the great skyscrapers of Kari. Nothing like a delicious pasty and a vast cityscape to start the day. All things considered, the young woman was having a pretty good day so far. No crazy people trying to kill her, no one attacking the city she was in right now, no diseases or gods bend on destruction. And oddly peaceful time given all the shit that usually went around in Genesis. Really, all she needed now to make her day would be running into someone she knew from the media she grew up with.
Flicking some lint off of her "Remember Reach" T-shirt, Swarm stood up. Given the winds, she should have been knocked off the building, but telekinesis preventing her from a long fall and a quick death. Convenient.
"Now, what to d-" A gleam of something metal moving caught Swarm's attention, and she adjusted her glasses, which zoomed in on the object. Technology was really quite advanced here, at least from her point-of-view. As she focused in on the large ship as it entered the borders of Kari, Swarm was reminded of a UNSC ship. It looked just like one- oh wait.
"It couldn't be." UNSC? From Halo, one of her favorite video game series? Logic said impossible, but after living here for a while, Swarm learned to tell logic to go suck it. And taking a closer look, she could see the UNSC logo on the side of the hull. Holy shit.
Giggling like a little kid who got his favorite toy, Swarm stepped off the building, landing on a platform made of the ball bearings that she always had on her. She wasn't sure what kind of metal made up the small spheres, but it was tough as hell. She sped rather quickly to the ship, touching down on the edge of the helipad near the soldiers. In case they saw her as suspicious, Swarm raised her hands at them in a peaceful, surrendering manner. "I know these guys. Well, I know where they're from. I don't personally know them." It was hard to keep the grin from her face as she stared at the ship, so she didn't bother, hopping up and down. She was excited, clearly.
"Omigod omigod omigod." She didn't use the phrase often, but this was a good case for it. "It's the UNSC! THE ACTUAL UNSC. Ooo! Maybe they have a SPARTAN."

"This the UNSC Alpha, we are hovering over the landing area. All troops assigned for immediate deployment are to report to the vehicle bays and begin prep to roll out. This is not a combat drill, I repeat, this is not a combat drill, all weapons are to on safe mode and holstered."
Jonas returned to the deck, fresh out of armor. He walked into the bridge wearing the new spartan ACU, looking at it like it was the first time he had worn it, truth be told, he preferred wearing his old ODST armor when not faced with heavy combat. Following him was a woman with blond pony-tail and green eyes, Cutter noticing the slight glow in her eyes.
"I think I can do fine with just one escort, Beta, unless you just wanted to test your abilities."
"If you worried I can't run this ship and be right next to you at the same time, then you are underestimating my abilities. I'm not a AI fragment...well, not anymore, at least."
"And when we are down doing the diplomacy thing, just call her Allison. As for what we are dealing with..."
"The AI that runs this place, the White Queen, is who we will be talking to, a platoon of men are waiting to meet us with a projector to speak with her. The man that let you in is also the leader of this place, his name is Kain." replied Cutter, the two nodding as the rest of the escort team came into the bridge.
"Sir, your pelican is ready. We picked out a gunship variant just in case, and for you two, we packed extra armor-pads and helmets just in case anything goes wrong."
'I doubt these people would try and take us all out now. I say we just don't try and piss them off, okay?"
Cutter and Jonas nodded in agreement, the three walking out from the bridge, everyone saluting their captain, Beta's form appearing on the holotable, watching herself leave with the rest of them, her appearance changed, for the fragment she had split off included her normal appearance. She snapped her fingers, everyone looking at her.
"Back to work everyone. We need to stay on top of it. Commander, your in charge until Cutter comes back."
The man in question nodded, watching feeds of the diplomatic ship leaving the hangar deck, landing some distance from the ship in front of a waiting platoon of men from the local military. The cameras zoomed in to see the three exiting the drop-ship, another set of three stepping out after them, these soldiers beginning to guard the pelican as Cutter and his two escorts stepped up to the man holding the projector, an avatar appearing upon it. Jonas and Allison looked at the platoon, their weapons similar to their own and yet more advanced in some ways, though a odd-looking girl with a strange t-shirt caught their eyes.
"I am Captain James Cutter of the UNSC Alpha. I assume you are the White Queen?"

Swarm displayed an unusual amount of self-control when she held back the urge to squeal like a fangirl when the pelican descended. “Best. Day. Ever.” This was probably around the same level of “epicness” when she first met Caboose, but, at the thought of the soldier, some of the excitement left her. She hadn’t seen Caboose in ages. More than likely, he was dead. Just like Leon. The thought of the paladin sank her mood even more, and she desperately tried to think of someone she considered a friend who wasn’t dead. A few moments of silent pondering, and the mental search yielded 0 results. ‘That’s not a comforting thought’ Depression would have to wait, though, as the pelican opened and three figures emerged. None of them wore armor, which was a disappointment, because it was probably the easiest way to tell the difference between a SPARTAN and a normal soldier.
Cutter’s question grabbed her attention as she turned to see the white holographic figure of a little girl. Wait, she had seen that before. A memory of a late night movie marathon with her college buddies suddenly flew to the forefront of her mind as she remembered the Resident Evil movie series. “HOLY SHIT YOU’RE FROM RESIDENT EVIL!” She exclaimed, not really caring if people stared. She was used to being called crazy. She was crazy. “How did I not see that! I can't believe it took a UNSC ship to make me realize that you were here."

The soldier held up the projector in his right hand and a holographic image of the White Queen appeared before them, as if she was a real child standing there. But staring at it long enough and those could see the fizzling done on the avatar as time went on. One of the soldiers to the side heard Swarm yell out and then went over to her. Signaling for her to stay back while the White Queen addressed the others. "You assume correctly. I'd hope your little detour in the local network would have told you all you need to know."Busted. "I regret to inform you that the "slip-space anomaly" you've passed through was a threshold into another dimension. Because of this depending how different your equipment are from ours we may not be able to immediately supply you with you need."

The female soldier rolled her eyes upon the other AI's words, Jonas still eyeing the crazy girl who started blurting out random things during the conversation. Cutter nodded, handing a data-chip to the soldier.
"I think this should be enough to tell you what we are capable of. This ship is our military's most advanced warship, much of the tech on-board is experimental and state of the art. Since we are here, we will be happy to serve if you require something a little more than dropping troops on the ground and hoping for the best. And may I allow my companions to introduce themselves, for they help me keep the ship running like a well-oiled machine."
Jonas and Allison both nodded, introducing themselves, Cutter eyeing the girl who had so rudely yelled out during this meeting. He noticed the words on her shirt, reading them carefully:
REMEMBER REACH
His eyes widened, wondering how anyone outside their universe knew of the fall of the UNSC's main military hub, the events of which still feel like it happened just yesterday.
"It is honor to meet you, White Queen. I am Major Jonas Dawning, commanding officer of the Alpha's special forces group, which is called SPARTAN. We are super-soldiers, augmented and outfitted with the very best weapons and armor. We are called into battle when all else fails, and true to our namesakes, we fight impossible odds using extreme tactical prowess and precision force upon our enemies. And of course, we also have our own AI on-board ship, why don't you introduce yourself?"
Allison nodded, trying not to look guilty, after all, she did hack the networks.
"Yes, I will. I am the Alpha's Artificial Intelligence Unit. My formal name is Allison, but most call me Beta, even fewer still call me by an even older call-sign, Texas. Is it too late to apologize for hacking into your systems?"
