Unfinished Business (Amilia)

It was the perfect anticipation this way she could find out the speed of her attackers swings and the power at which they were thrown. Amilia took one half step back and her sword did the rest as she organized multiple attacks to slide off and deflect Sazans attacks from harming her or hitting her. Another moment went by and she slipped on swipe and put her blade into the inside edge of the scythe tugging on it with a lot of her power to pull Sazan off balance.

[Ayen]

Sazan rotated the scythe to keep the blade from being caught and took a step back while swinging the scythe with the intent to knock Amilia into the air on impact.

She was well prepared for the speed now knowing that she could avoid the scythe directly as long as she stayed limber. The swing hit air as she rolled to the side then moved forward on the backside of the scythe now inside of its range. She twisted around and bumped Sazan lightly with her shoulder as she walked past her calmly.

"What would you do in that situation? You have range down and you have a decent speed but if your opponent got inside your range what would you do?" Amilia took the time to catch her breath and rest a bit to build her stamina back up.

[Ayen]

Sazan lowered her scythe, holding it like a staff again.

“That's where the witchcraft comes in.”

Amilia bumped into Sazan again but stayed leaning on her shoulder, "And if you can't get them out of your range?" She would remain close to Sazan if she tried moving again in order to prove her point.

[Ayen]

Sazan hit Amilia with another Yorn press, already in the perfect position for it since she was leaning on her shoulder.

Sazan was too close to Amilia who put her foot down and remained anchored in place given that they were literally shoulder to shoulder Sazan was working against the weight of someone who was more adept in absorbing the shock of the press, plus at that range anyone not expecting it would just fall over given how close it was and how little room she had to gain any velocity. Amilia shook her head.

"Your weapon is an extension of yourself, but it is only an extension. Merjutsu isn't about weapons its about your body and how you use it."

"Hope so," Amilia tossed her sword aside the next moment her body was up and twisting rapidly aiming a spinning kick for Sazans shoulder. Given the close range Sazan's scythe was no longer a viable option as an offensive weapon.

[Ayen]

"Hope so."

Sazan fell to the spin kick and hit the ground dropping her scythe.

Amilia landed and turned the rest of her body almost like it was ballet, she put her hand out to help Sazan up. Vicknair's team had finished training and were moving toward them.

"Our first lesson is going to be fighting and defending yourself with and without your scythe as your primary weapon. The misconception about Merjutsu is that it's a sword style when it is truly a martial art. It pulls from hand to hand combat to armed combat.

"So tell me what have you learned so far?"

Sazan accepted the hand. Anything resembling a pride was long broken by the time the spin kick connected and she found herself on her ass.

"To dodge? You did a bad job dodging that one. I think you learned something more. That you shouldn't rely on your weapon alone. If you haven't learned that then it's a good time to start because my sword, your scythe wont always save you. Especially if you swing your scythe and find out that I can use magic at the last second then blow it out of your hands," Amilia said Vicknair dug through the basket on the bench and tossed an apple in her direction without looking she caught it then tossed it to Sazan and caught another.

"We're going to make you into a rounded warrior. Any questions?" She bit into the apple.

[Ayen]

"To dodge? You did a bad job dodging that one. I think you learned something more. That you shouldn't rely on your weapon alone. "We're going to make you into a rounded warrior. Any questions?"

Sazan shook her head before biting into her apple.

"Good finish your apple we've got work to do," Amilia said biting into it again and chewing. She went back to her sword and picked it up then tossed the apple core aside and got in her attack stance.
