The warm air brustled through the leaves of the tree's and surrounded the body that layed on the ground. Glacient opened his eyes and stared into the face of a rather large tree trunk. Glancing around he saw another, and another, trunks larger then any found on Mount SkyInarta. He looked down, the grass was green. The air was warm. The last he remembered the mountain had frozen over for the winter, and there was warnings of a large storm. The tempest storm. that's right, he heard the rumors of the blind Akalak. And he was out there, but now. . .
Glacient got up off the ground. His Katinu, a large wool cloak that was common wear for Inarta men, was making his body hot. Wherever he was, it felt like the middle of summer. He took of his Katinu and exposed his bare chest, another common wear of the Inarta men. He tied up the ends of his Byrda, a long leather sash like skirt. He took in his surroundings again and noticed that the tree's were taller then any in his homeland.
In the tree's he could hear the songs of birds, high pitched, sharp, and intricately woven together. He recognized some of the calls. There were pigeons, sparrows, a few blue jays. Then an ear piercing call broke out, one that echoed throughout the woods. That sound was as familiar as the beat of his heart. It was the sound of a Gyrfalcon. A large bird standing over three feet in height, and a wingspan of just over six feet. Just over the tree's he could make out the white mass of his bird, Yuri. She let out another cry and swooped in. Extending his arm she landed on his sontav, a leather breech designed in Wind Reach for the exact purpose of handling birds with razor sharp talons.
He pet the top of her head and began to speak to her in the many clicks and growls of his native tongue Nari. "Yuri, I am beyond glad to see you. These tree's, they are larger then any I have seen. This air, it's warm. Yuri tell me, we are not on SkyInarta anymore are we?"
The bird bowed her head and began to make the various clicks of the Nari language back to him. "Glacient I feared you wouldn't wake up. I have flown far north, south, east, and west, and SkyInarta is no where in sight. We are surrounded by mountains, none of which I remember from your geography classes, and there is a small town about thirteen miles east of here. The people are not Inartan, instead they look like the humans of Sylrian. Their language sounds similar to when you speak common, but I'm not sure if it is common."
Glacient thought on the information he was told, humans? He would have to make the best of it, he had to get home to SkyInarta as fast as possible. He picked up his bow off the ground, placed his Katinu in his pack, and headed off in the direction of the town with Yuri taking point through the air.
