"So I make one bad call and I'm screwed for life, is that it?"
“One bad call? Have you any idea what the Vulture has done to people like me? To everyone that lived here? To align with them by force is one thing but to join them willingly knowing what all they've done is quite another. You make me sick! You and the pervert over here!”
“Ahem! I prefer to think of myself as an appreciator of beauty.”
“You're nothing but a disgusting–!”
“Calm yourself, Commander. There is nothing to gain from arguing.”
"There was another, but she ... dissappeared on me and I haven't gotten around to tracking her down. So for now I am alone. However the dark side already has it's hold here. I sense someone here I thought had left us, but that would be too much to ask. However, the name Dark Jedi is not used much anymore. The Grey order existed for a bit, but that too is gone now. What you must watch for is Sith, and they are already here and growing in strength."
“A what?”
“What's a Sith?”
“Think polar opposite of the Jedi.”
"As for our welcoming committe, I would think if these two are as bad as you seem to think they are you would have shot first and asked questions later, not that I'm grateful you didn't. However, the fact that you brought us in here means your at least willing to listen to them and talk. I doubt I affected your decision much as you probably didn't even know I existed until this point.
Now the question is will you let them help you or are they, as she so eloquently put it, "screwed for life"?"
“They could be a valuable asset to our cause, Commander.”
“I'll think about it. For the time being you're welcomed to stay here but try anything and my soldiers will fire on sight. Understood?”
“Yes, ma'am!”
“I trust you can find them a place to stay inside the base and answer any questions they may have, Genius. I'll be in my office.”
“Yes, Commander.”
Imai went back up the staircase as Genius remained and returned her glance to the others.
“You'll have to excuse her. The commander has a bad history with the Vulture and as a result harbors extreme bias towards anyone who's brandished their insignia for more than a nanosecond. Have you any questions or should I lead you to your rooms?”

"I have one. Why is a child holding a military rank?"

*Saneatsu just glares at Meryl, unsure of how to handle that. He decides to just let the "child" answer and leave this woman to her own devices. Turning to Genius he rolls his eyes and pretends that just did not happen.*
Sooooo, I was wondering if you needed help with your injured, I may be able to get them back up and running faster. Normally I would wait before trying to get involved but seeing as this is a rebellion, every second counts. As I said I have some training in the healing arts and unless you have another task for me to do I think I'd best be put to use there.

"I have one. Why is a child holding a military rank?"
“Careful. She doesn't like being called a child.”
“The short answer is I'm not a child. Take that as you will.”

“Med bay is up these stairs and to the right. Anyone gives you any problems just say Genius sent you.”

Meryl raised an eyebrow at that answer, multiple questions and different scenarios played through her head as to what exactly that answer entailed but the Private knew that the only way to know for certain was to press the issue further.
"You know I can't just leave it at that. If you're not a child then what are you?"

"You know I can't just leave it at that. If you're not a child then what are you?"
“I understand. It's that same human curiosity that has kept the race alive for as long as it has. I am a vampire. I may look like a twelve year old girl but in truth I am actually a hundred and seventeen years old. My mind has grown, unfortunately, my body has not.”
“So that's the smell I've been smelling.”
Genius paid Drake no mind and continued the discussion with Meryl.
“I'm surprised you weren't able to make the conclusion yourself. I know vampires are nothing new in this world. In fact, I'd say they're quite common.”

"A vampire? They're real?"
Meryl wasn't sure whether she should believe Genius or not. The child didn't give her any reason not to believe her as it seemed she was telling the truth, and it added up to the reasons why she was in a position of military rank. Meryl knew all about Miracle, but that was a different situation. Miracle was a prodigy and had amazing holy abilities on her side, not just any child would do. Though, if Genius really were a genius she could have gotten away with being called a prodigy child also. Too late for her to use that lie now.
"What is a vampire doing here and who in their right mind would turn one so young?"
