History: S.H.I.E.L.D. was co-founded by Howard Stark and Nick Fury in the late 1980s as a counter-terrorism and intelligence agency comply of soldiers, spies and scientists. Working closely with Stark Industries to ensure they have all the latest advanced technology available. Their main base of operations is the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier where they deploy their agents. Director Nick Fury brought together Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America to assembled a group of super heroes to protect the world from the threats they themselves couldn't face. The Avengers saw their first task in the form of facing an invasion force headed by Thor's brother Loki and had disbanded since.
With all the members of the Avengers going their separate way, S.H.I.E.L.D continued to do what they did best as more and more cases of unidentified creatures began to appear in similar fashion to the Chitauri that attacked earth. This led to the belief that the tesserect were still being used whilst Tony Stark Bruce Banner were reported to have disappeared from inside Stark Tower. One day while the helicarrier were on route following a lead to Tony's disappearance a large dimensional rift would open up in the air dragging them on through and bringing them to Genesis, more specifically to Elim. Just in time for Winter.
