A new man appears by the name of William Drake, with a woman simply known as Slave and a casket seeking employment from Xanarnis President Ashley. In order to prove themselves worthy of fighting against the supernatural beings in the world Ashley decided to pit them against the strongest monster her people has ever come to know. The demon child Las Plagas.
So far this thread has introduced two new characters and a third incarnation of an existing character well known throughout the story, Maricul. This time played by Naomi. Maricul is a character that has overseen many incarnations and this is not the first time another player had portrayed her that was not me. For a while Alex had actually played an incarnation of Maricul that was later killed by her third child so there has been four incarnations of Maricul overall. It's interesting to see someone familiar with my style play a character of mine so well and I look forward to seeing how Naomi makes Maricul her own character.
Those who had followed the Hellsing plot in Hallowton will see some parallels here. The main one being a group of people coming to a country and seeking employment and residence from the leader of the nation. This is actually a revamp of an old group I created back in 2006 called DWA that was more or less a rip off of Hellsing. This time I tried to make it less of a rip off and more Hellsing inspired than anything else. Instead of being a whole organization they act more like detectives/police of paranormal phenomenons. Instead of their main focus being "search and destroy" they focus more on detaining supernatural creatures in prisons and learning more these creatures. Maricul of course being one of those detainees.
Right now Maricul vs. Las Plagas is in an interesting spot as Mari found a way to bypass the barrier and attack the child that moves within it. The more we see from Las Plagas the more I come to realize that she is a prisoner of her own abilities, kinda like how Tajna Rasha was only to a much lesser degree. A child in a bubble. She never experienced the things that most people (demon or otherwise) has experienced. She doesn't even know what pain is because the barrier pretty much dusts anyone who crosses it and I have a feeling that if Las Plagas could cross the barrier herself the same fate would bestow her.
