Luna's eyes widened at that, a whole city turned into crystal ice? That must have been one powerful magic spell, she could never imagine someone who would want to do that or why they would want to do that unless it was for an evil intention, "What incredible magic...but why would someone want to do that? That doesn't make any sense..." she said mournfully.

“It was actually an accident as far as we know. One of the weapons they were working on malfunctioned freezing the entire city.”
While what happened to them was truly tragic they had brought it on themselves for developing such a dangerous weapon. Sazan could understand wanting to protect your home more than anything but even in war, against a threat like Isafaro, there was a limit. A line you didn't cross. Kari had crossed that line and the Crystal Expanse was their just deserts. It was nothing more than blind luck that Zira's power had melted the expanse and freed the city from what would have been an eternal icy prison. Aper having already melted half of it prior to that. If not for Zira the remnants of Kari would have been forced to survive in harsh conditions for their stubborn refusal to move on.

Luna sighed, a weapon? Really? In the middle of a city? What were they thinking when they thought of testing the weapon in the middle of such a city. Sometimes people can be so silly when it comes to protecting themselves, Fudge denied the existence of Voldemort until it was nearly too late, making Luna wonder just what exactly went through the minds of these people when incidents like these happen, "Such a silly thing to do...testing a weapon in the city, I wonder if the people who tested it thought it was worth risking an entire city to protect it?" she mused to herself.

“I don't know a lot of the specifics. It was before my time. Kari was at war so I can understand the need but in my opinion they crossed the line the moment they created a weapon that dangerous. It really doesn't make them any better than the people they were fighting against.” |

"Indeed, I really hate war, there's nothing good that can come out from it. All it does is cause sorrow and sadness, sometimes I wish that war never occurs, but I know that it's our curse as long as we remain here, or wherever we come," Luna said with a sigh.

Sazan saw the security checkpoint that led into Kari up ahead and reached into her pocket for her identification. Once the guard saw who it was they let them in no questions asked and Sazan led Luna into Kari.
