The gentle breeze of a cool winter's wind blew across the sails of the ship as it crossed the surface of the ocean's water from its home in Kari and made way for Elim. The Traveling Bard was at the left side of the ship leaned up against the wall as she looked out to the horizon seeing Kari grow smaller in the distance. Seeing it off with a kind smile, watching birds fly through the clear blue sky on a beautiful Genesis day as for once everything was peaceful. "The view from out here is nice, isn't it?" she asked Zora.

"The view from out here is nice, isn't it?"
Zora was next to Gabrielle on the ship's side, hunched over and throwing up into the water below as the vessel sailed across the ocean. It was Zora's first time on a ship and it was clearly transparent by how quickly the child had became seasick once they got moving. Lifting her head up from the side of the ship, an irritable expression on her face as she replied to Gabrielle sarcastically.
“Incredible.”

Gabrielle gave Zora a light pat on the back as she battled with her seasickness. Another drawback of that life of luxury she was used to back home. Or perhaps the girl just didn't do well out at sea. No matter, she only had to hold out for a day then everything would be fine. "Don't worry. After a few trips you get used to it."

"Don't worry. After a few trips you get used to it."
“After a few trips you get used to it...”
Zora repeated weakly as she slowly pulled up from over the wall and turned around, leaning back against it trying to relax as she really didn't want to throw up again while she was here. Funny how the worse things are the slower time seems to go by, like it was some kind of tease who enjoyed the misery of others. Zora could have respected it if she weren't time's current victim.
“Great...”

"Perhaps you'd like to retire to our room in the lower deck and lay down?" asked Gabrielle while observing Zora's condition. "You should be glad this vessel is as advanced as the city it was built in. The ships back in my world was nowhere near this nice."

"Perhaps you'd like to retire to our room in the lower deck and lay down?"
“No, no. I'm fine. Honest.”
"You should be glad this vessel is as advanced as the city it was built in. The ships back in my world was nowhere near this nice."
“It's only muggle tech. How great can it be?”

"Here I thought I was starting to get through that prejudice of yours." The Traveling Bard looked back out to the ocean. If Zora said she was fine, even though she clearly wasn't, then Gabrielle would leave it alone. Knowing better by now that if Zora didn't want to do something she wasn't going to do it, until she saw it fit herself to do it. The sickness would get to her before long and she'd go to bed of her own accord. Or pass out. Whichever came first. "How do witches travel in your world, Zora? Is it by ship or something else?"

"Here I thought I was starting to get through that prejudice of yours."
“What prejudice? It's a well known fact that magic is better than what the muggles has to offer.”
"How do witches travel in your world, Zora? Is it by ship or something else?"
Zora eyes lit up, the most they could in this state, when Gabrielle asked that question. Finally a chance to brag and reminisce about the great things of her own world. Technically she wasn't allowed to talk about her world with muggles but they were well passed that point by now.
“Well... There are a couple of ways. One of the most well known is the broom. All students at Hogwarts are required to learn how to operate one their first year of school, but can't own one of their own until a year later, which I personally believe to be a load of rubbish. Then there's travel by floo powder. You just take your floo powder, step into your fireplace, say the name of the place you'd like to go, drop it and then warp to their fireplace.”

"Is that so?" Asked Gabrielle as she folded her arms and raised an eyebrow at the child. Thinking about the muggle weapon the witch had grown fond of back from their training in Kari, she unfolded her arms and pointed her right hand thumb over to the pathway to the lower deck. "Then I suppose you won't be needing that crummy old staff you've been using. It was built by muggles, after all. I'll just go throw it out."

“So.”

“No!”
Zora reached out and grabbed Gabrielle's shirttails to keep her from walking off. Her feelings betraying her earlier words as she spoke:
“Not everything produced by muggles is worthless...”

Gabrielle just smiled and stopped her walk. Turning back to the child in full and returning to what the witch had told her about her people means of transportation. "Brooms? Isn't that a little stereotypical?" When people thought of witches they generally thought of old hags with green skin, stirring a cauldron over a stove and riding on broomsticks. One would think that real witches would want to get as far away from that stereotype as possible but for all she knew that stereotype didn't exist in Zora's world. Travel by floo powder did sound interesting though. "So you don't travel on ships then?" That explained the sea sickness.

"Brooms? Isn't that a little stereotypical?"
“It's hardly as simple as the muggles make it out to be in fairytales. A witch can't just pick up and fly on any old broom now can she? explained Zora while looking back in the direction of the ocean. “It's also not as simple as picking them up to ride on either. There are certain steps you have to take. Of course some of us are more talented than others. I knew how to fly the moment I touched a broom.”
"So you don't travel on ships then?"
“We have ships I just never sailed on one...”

"I wouldn't know I'm not a witch," replied Gabrielle. Gabrielle folded her arms again and listened to Zora as she explained things. Snickering at the young witch's boasts which always seemed to overlay a deeper insecurity than the girl cared to admit. "Where's your broom now?"

"I wouldn't know I'm not a witch."
“There are times where you could have fooled me.”
"Where's your broom now?"
“I lost it a while ago. I don't even remember how. It was a Nimbus 2001 too, a beautiful racing broom that I wanted so badly back home. And now it's gone. Probably being used in some old, filthy house somewhere to sweep away dust! And why were you snickering earlier?”

"Meaning?" Gabrielle was curious. With the exception of the super chakram the Traveling Bard didn't think she gave off much of a vibe that she had any supernatural powers or knew witchcraft. "Nimbus 2001?" Uh oh. Busted. She had caught her snickering. "It's nothing."
