Hell's March pt.3 [Chapter XIX]

[Sparda]

This army was vast indeed, but the city's defences were holding fast and Byakuya was plenty prepared to run crowd control if he needed to. He'd continued to cut his way through to the young priestess battling the leader of this detachment of the Netherrealm force before the masses of shokan started barging through to deal with the turrets and tanks. They would need to be stopped before they were able to pry open holes in the defence which could be widened by their sheer strength of numbers.

To that end, the Shinigami took to the air. Clearing some space for himself with precise swings of his blade, he Flash Stepped straight upwards, standing on thin air dozens of metres overhead. He sheathed Senbonzakura and extended his hands out to either side.

"Bakudo #62: Hyapporankan."

Each of his hands closed around a long, thin rod of energy which materialised in his grasp, glowing blue-white. With a quick flourish, he tossed them to the ground in seemingly random directions. Moments after they left his hands, though, each split into a hundred more rods that rained down across the battlefield, pinning down and immobilising scores of Netherrealm soldiers and shokan.

Byakuya's hands remained extended towards the ground, behind the enemy's front line, as he immediately called forth a second spell. "Hado #33: Sokatsui." A pair of spheres of bright blue energy pulsed into life in his hands, seething with power, before he launched them straight into the charging lines of shokan and Chaosrealmers, carving great swathes through the ranks with two mighty explosions of blue flame.

[Jehanne]

The ground shook and fire blazed across their enemies as the battle for Kari and the tower escalated. Jehanne held up her shield to defend against the in-coming blades of the chaosrealmers, even though they were on fire their assault was relentless and their own weapons more dangerous by the flames. Thanks to the power from the High Priestess, and her own strength from within, the Knight in Training found the will to endure and strike them with her own blade. Pushing them back and helping to keep some of the heat off of Miracle as she personally saw to Noob's death.

[Ashley]

Phebe kept her feet firmly planted on the ground even as it trembled beneath the power of war. The lights of her and the other priests never growing dim as they remained behind the others in a never yielding support backed by the power of God. Phebe's eyes looking out ahead to see the enemy already on the defensive by the High Priestess' attack before her eyes were diverted up to the VTOLs flying over them and dropping bombs upon the demons by the Netherrealm portal. There was never a dull moment around here.

[Garrus Vakarian]

The chaosrealmers behind Noob's position quickly divided and left the shadow warrior with room to move as he recollected himself and rolled to the side away from Miracle's charge. Once on his feet, Noob used the blunt end of the scythe to keep the High Priestess at a distance as his shadow warriors went to manipulate the surrounding warriors' shadows.

[Miracle]

"Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert."

Miracle simply stopped her advance and turned to face Noob after he rolled away. The holy energy from her feet spread across the ground, anointing it and burning the feet of the surrounding demons. Destroying the shadow warriors who headed for her friends in the same matter Noob had attacked her back in Jherrazad. Not again. Never again.

The holy energy around the rest of the High Priestess' body grew stronger, shooting off her body and coming towards Saibot in great torrents as Miracle only walked toward her enemy with her sword raised. One way or another Miracle would strike down this enemy, one way or another Noob would no longer know the power of the Netherrealm as the hand of God will rip him from it and bring about a permanent death. One way or another...

"Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."

[Alex]

The demon army was on the defensive and neither Noob nor the chaosrealmers were gaining any ground against the divine wrath of Aircano any time soon and now? Now they were divided. Turning to the opposite direction Miracle went, knowing that Jehanne would never leave her side, Alex led her men straight into the remaining chaosrealmers to their right. Swinging her blade and unleashing more holy energy wiping them out. Their numbers were starting to thin and there was little sign of any of them coming out of the portal. It couldn't be because of the VTOLs. Just when Alex started to ponder this thought she could feel another powerful source of holy energy coming west of them right where the center barricade of the first set was located. Alex knew for a fact that Yahweh has chosen to stand at the third set of barricades in case the Netherrealm made it past them and the Strait Jacket unit so what on Genesis could the source of that divine might be if not Lord Yahweh himself?

[Sincara]

For one reason or another the demon army did nothing to stop the hornets on the ground or the VTOLs of the air. Their mistake. One hornet sent a total of six stinger missiles to the rear of Noob Saibot's position as the holy energy from Miracle came at his front. There was nowhere to run or hide as death awaited him in each direction and the ground was unsafe to enter thanks to the High Priestess anointing it. No matter what hit him first it would be the Wrath of God that made sure his soul did not return to the Netherrealm.

[Jehanne]

Jehanne felt the same thing Alex was picking up on, only she naturally assumed that it was coming from the High Priestess and with all the power she was releasing, despite everything the Netherrealm was doing to bend this world to its will, how could she not? Her eyes wandered over to where Noob was, just in time to see Miracile's holy energy and stingers from the surrounding tanks fall upon him. Was this finally the end of the shadow warrior who took Solomon from them? Would his death at last be avenged?

[Ashley]

Phebe's jaw dropped at the sight before her eyes. In awe at the amount of holy energy being pumped into the battle, and all in Noob Saibot's direction. She was pulled out of it when the chaosrealmers continue to foolishly attack, using her staff to knock them back and continue to provide support to the rest of the Aircano army. What would they do should their leader fall to the power of Yahweh on this day? Continue to fight on to their deaths or cower in fear like all the wicked beings that came before them?

[Garrus Vakarian]

Noob had nowhere to run or hide but he wasn't planning on doing either. Instead the shadow warrior swung his scythe and created a black hole directly into the path of the holy energy. Using his speed and agility to evade the stingers at the last minute, the blast shaking the ground as fire and smoke reached up into the heavens but Noob remained unclaimed by true death once again. Chaosrealmers pouring out of the sky and onto the hornets to take them down as now the black hole in the middle of the battlefield threatened to devour Miracle and her people where they stood as fire came out of the portals near the VTOLs to cause them to crash as they were attacked by more aerial beasts hell-bent on their destruction.

[Miracle]

As the black hole opened up in the air and threatened all who stood before it, she did not falter. As once again the wicked evaded the hand of justice and continued to salt the earth with their misdeeds, she did not falter. As the black hole grew more powerful thanks to being a remnant of the First Aspect absolute and terrifying power, she did not falter. For their was one power greater than all Arashi and all the Netherrealm and they were at her fingertips as she did, what many witnessing the battle this day, would declare pure insanity. She ran directly towards the black hole where she knew Noob was standing on the opposite side.

"See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy."

The black hole began to dissolve, recognizing the power and authority that stood behind the anointed one as she continued her charge towards Noob uninterrupted, the holy energy flowing across her body and causing the surrounding demons that resurrected to cower back to the Netherrealm in fear as none wanted to stand in the way of the wrath of God. Her sword raised and sharpened just for the heart of the shadow warrior as the High Priestess cried out.

"Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering!"

[Alex]

"Again with the black hole..."

Alex ordered her men to steer clear of the black hole as they knocked the chaosrealmers towards it. While the demons of the Netherrealm couldn't be harmed they at the very least provided cover against the vacuums coming from the black hole trying to suck them in. Vacuums that soon ceased as the High Priestess charged on through conquering the hole and continuing her relentless assault on the chaosrealmer's leader.

"That's my girl."

[Sincara]

Coming out of the sky didn't guarantee victory. The hornets simply aimed up and fired more swarms of stinger missiles into the chaosrealmers who now couldn't even attempt to the dodge as they allowed gravity to pull them down right into the path of the stingers. The firehawks pulling back from the portals as they swoosh, turning around and releasing their rattlesnake missiles towards the aerial beasts that came after them.

[Jehanne]

Jehanne couldn't believe her eyes. She thought for sure that Noob was a goner the second Miracle unleashed her holy energies at the same time the Kari's tanks attacked but no. That murdering bastard found a way to get out of it but even that wouldn't be enough to hold the High Priestess back. It was then that Jehanne took her spot at Miracle's side, coming up her rear and charging with her on the right-hand side of her. Even she trembled in fear at the power that radiated off of her and she was safe from being destroyed by it. She could only imagine the fear coursing through the veins of the demons that opposed them.

[Ashley]

Phebe and the rest of the healers backed away the instant they felt the familiar tug of the black hole reach out for them. Flashes of the holy temple being lost to such a thing ran through the priestess' mind as she and her sisters retreated to safety. Watching in awe and bursting into cheer as Miracle bested the black hole and continued her charge for Noob Saibot. How could they have such little faith? All at once Phebe and the healers ceased their backward movement and rushed forward, their shinning light blinding the chaosrealmers who were attempting to fend off the Aircano soldiers as the healers continued to act as support, some even crossing the blades of the enemy with their staffs to further assist the fight. A fight they had to win no matter the cost to their own lives.
