It was always hard to tell what Kain was thinking. He was capable of masking his expression so well. A good quality to have. Gabrielle was certain if she wanted to she could do the same thing. "She mentioned they would be disorientated and spirits. That they wouldn't be able to resurrect or adapt."

"I'm well aware of Demetrios and Doctor Fate. They arrived along with the Moon Valley party not long after you left. My army is already set up and prepared if another attack happens so that isn't a concern. Repeat what Sincara told you."
“Doctor Fate?”
Zora snorted.
“How original,” she said sarcastically.
"She mentioned they would be disorientated and spirits. That they wouldn't be able to resurrect or adapt."
“Spirits. As in ghosts. A nuisance surely but hardly a threat.”

"Ghosts are a threat. Perhaps more so than a full frontal attack by an invasion force."Kain replied while sitting up from his chair and standing at the side of his desk. "Spirits can travel from place to place entirely unseen. Most weapons would be useless against them as well. You can't kill a ghost because a ghost is already dead. You can't harm them either as most attacks would go directly through them. They could haunt a home driving people out or possess a human vessel and bend them to their will. It seems we'll have a very different war to wage against the Netherrealm."Kain opened up the laptop on his desk and sent a message to the White Queen. "But you can trap a ghost and store them away to where they can't be a threat. I'll have the White Queen on it now in the meanwhile my men will stay on guard in case any of the Netherrealm remnants still have their bodies. Is there anything else you wish to discuss?"

Great. They went from tanks, to nigh indestructible demons to ghosts. Gabrielle couldn't fault Zora too much for taking the situation lightly since she only had the ghosts from her own world as a point of reference and they probably weren't as dangerous as these spirits Kain were talking about. Seeing that Kain already had things under control there wasn't much else to talk about so to that question Gabrielle shook her head.
"No, Kain. That was all I had to report."

“What?”

Zora couldn't help but find the idea of a haunted house in Kari amusing, though the idea of being possessed by one of those things wasn't exactly an appealing thought. She'd like to very much keep her body ghost free if at all possible.
"But you can trap a ghost and store them away to where they can't be a threat. I'll have the White Queen on it now in the meanwhile my men will stay on guard in case any of the Netherrealm remnants still have their bodies. Is there anything else you wish to discuss?"
“Excuse me, sir, but how exactly do you expect to catch something that can go through walls?”

"You let me worry about that. You're both dismissed."Kain returned to his seat and went back to work. They had accomplished one task only to be met with an even greater task. It was starting to feel exactly like old times. With this fresh start and a huge victory over the Netherrealm Kain was feeling pretty good though you'd never be able to tell it by just looking at him.
