Phalis was not pleased at all with what happened down in the dungeons. Not only had Zira rejected him and his wife performed terrible misdeeds against her, but the Firebird had defied him and escaped his palace where even the Black Knight were powerless to stop her. If word of this got out he would be a laughing stock. As such the God of Light already issued the order. Commanding his men to track down the one named Zira Firestone, find her and bring her back. Dead or alive. Elysios would soon learn the hard way that no one... NO ONE defied their Lord. Phalis sat alone in his throne room deep in thought until he heard the sound of footsteps approaching him.
"Who dares disturbs my meditation?"

"Your wife."
Spoke the Death Witch in a harsh tone as she entered the palace throne room. Ice cold eyes that bore into her husband's where he sat atop his throne. If it wasn't for him showing such affection to that slut then Hekate never would have been in the embarrassing position of nearly being killed by her.
"Or do you not have time for me in-between affairs?"

"Hekate..."
Phalis rose from his throne and walked towards his wife. Perhaps the only man in existence that wasn't afraid to approach the Death Witch when she was angry. Her acts against Zira in the dungeons were more than enough to show why the people of this nation trembled in fear at the witch's name and the place that bore her.
"You know that there is no other woman on this planet that could ever replace you."
He reached out to take her by the hand and lift it up to his lips so he could kiss the back of it.

Hekata pulled her hand away from Phalis and began to walk around him.
"Some times I wonder..."
The Death Witch continued to walk until she reached the God of Light's throne and sat down in it. Leaning back against the seat and making herself feel comfortable as she looked over to her husband.
"If you put this much energy into negotiations with the Dead City and dealing with the Xanarnis rebels we would have made actual progress by now."

Phalis only watched as Hekate helped herself to his throne. The only person in the world who could get away with just sitting in the God of Light's throne like that. Phalis only scoffed at what Hekate said afterwards.
"The rebels are hardly a threat to us and I do believe that negotiations with the Dead City is your responsibility."

The Death Witch responded to the scoff with an ice-cold glare that felt like it was piercing your very essence. It was all Hekate ever needed to set people straight. This included her husband who attempted to acted brave in her presence when she knew he was just as fearful of her and her power as the rest of the city. How humiliating it must have been for a god and a man to be intimidated by a woman and non-omnipotent being such as herself.
"The rebels are more of a threat than you know. Just lately they were successful in pushing back an assault on Essancee by a force that showcased superior technology to their own and put them in even better position to make peace with the elf tribes. I intend to visit the Dead City later today but it'd be nice if my husband showed the same sentiment instead of chasing after some harlot who would reject him at every turn."

"Reject me?"
Phalis appeared to be shocked that such a thing was even thought of, let alone uttered out of the lips by his own wife.
"Reject me!?"
That shock soon turned into anger as the God of Light slammed his fists into a nearby pillar, damaging it and shaking the entire throne room beneath the might of his mighty strength.
"No one, man or woman, would ever reject the great God of Light! Lord of Elysios!"

The Death Witch only watched silently as her husband had a temper tantrum worthy of an unruly child than that of a respectable king and god. Hekate couldn't even act surprised anymore. This was the man she married. Till death do them part. And with her reputation death could certainly be arranged.
"Is this how the God of Light acts? Like a spoiled child?"
Hekate arose from the throne, her eyes boring into Phalis as she walked towards him.
"What would your subjects think if they saw you now? How long do you expect people will continue to worship you if you keep up this kind of conduct? Not much longer I assure you."

"What did you call me?"
Phalis looked back over to his wife who had just sat up from the throne and approached him. Listening to her words and being silenced by their truths. Having little more to say on the matter that didn't sound like the cries of a spoiled child not getting what they wanted. With a blow to his pride, the God of Light conceded this debate and spoke:
"Very well, Hekate. I will call off the search for that woman and refocus my attention on the rebels."

"Good."
The Death Witch walked around her husband, not giving him a second glance as she headed for the exit of the throne room. Now that he had finally seen reason she would make her way to the Dead City to discuss peace between their regions. Then all they had to deal with from there would be the rebels in Xanarnis.
"I'll be making my way to the Dead City now. Be sure to give the President of Xanarnis my regards."

Phalis watched his wife leave and then proceeded to take his leave of the throne room as well. Commanding that his Black Knights meet him outside of the palace. It was time to pay the rebels a visit.
