“We need to get that thing away from him if we want to stand a chance.”
"Easier said tha'n dune!" Merida regained her courage, drew the arrow back, feeling the feathers resting against her cheek, "'e's got more powur in 'im than an army o' bee'ars!" Or witches but Mor'du was a formidable force on his own. If there was more than one of him...
The blast caught Merida off guard. It not only cleared the flying debris, but it was brighter than a group of wisps, so she was temporarily shocked by this. What kind of world did she get thrown into? Why didn't she just stay home?
“Tori. I'm going to attempt to get up close. You hit him with your bow when he's distracted.”
"A'h goot yer back, Tor-ee! Go!" This was no time to falter. Another person's life was in her hands and she could not afford to miss. When she saw the possible distraction take place, she narrowed her eyes, made sure her aim was true, exhaled, and let her fingers release the string...

Loki disperse the energy wave from his staff as Tori closed in. Countering the in-coming wooden staff with his free arm, enough force behind it to send Tori flying several feet through the air the moment his hand made contact with her weapon due to his godly strength. While it wasn't necessarily equal to that of an Asgardian, it was enough of a match for them and to a human? Overwhelming. This had been enough to allow the arrow to connect, however, the arrow deflected off of his body as bullets had before in the past. The arrow now rolling across the ground in the aftermath of its failure.
"Oh, that's right..."
Loki turned to face Merida and began to walk towards her.
"I'm a god."

In hindsight, probably not such a good idea. Tori felt the wind surround her body as she fell through the air and hit the ground hard. Slowly getting up to her hands and knees as she saw Loki making an advance towards Merida, the arrow having no effect at all. And she doubt her staff would be that much more effective. Not about to allow the god to take the girl, Tori forced herself back up to her feet and yelled at Loki.
“Hey! Where are you going? I'm not done with you yet!”
Tori picked up her staff and even though she could barely stand, her resolve was seen as clear as day as she stood before the God of Mischief without fear. If they couldn't defeat him then Tori could at the very least give Merida enough time to escape with her fallen comrade. Before Tori could do anything more though the cries of another would reach their ears as her head turned to the right to see something coming down the road.
“In the name of Allah, green beans shall be banished to the pit of my stomach!”
“Nex!?”
Indeed it was. Nex charged head long into Loki, pulling back his right arm and sending his fist flying into the god's face.
“OW!”
The results would not be in his favor.

"An' gods can dai!" Merida was going to attempt another attack, but some raving lunatic got to him first. He punched him. He punched a god in the face and it looked like he broke his hand. The redhead grimaced, started backing away, and was prepared to run off when she heard the most comforting thing in the world: the sound of hoofs against the ground and a loud neigh. Angus was alright! He looked a little banged up from the blast, but here he was!
"Oye! Yew two! C'mon!" Merida grabbed Nex and ran for her horse, who was already going for Tori. They had no choice but to retreat. This warlock, or whatever he was, was far too powerful for them to fight. If Nex was intelligent enough, he'll get on Angus, or he'll just get left behind because once Tori is on, they were getting the hell out of dodge. Merida helped her onto the saddle, grabbed her reigns, snapped them, and Angus made a beeline down the street.

Had it not been for his hatred of humanity Loki would have felt some respect for the woman who was still standing after hitting the blunt end of his godly strength. But he felt only annoyance that she was foolish enough to defy him still. His focus shifted from Merida to Tori though he wouldn't get far as the cries of the male reached his ears and caused him to turn to the direction of the voice.
"Green bean?"
The fist connected. Of course, Loki didn't so much as flinched while Nex screamed in agony at the aftermath of the punch. The God of Mischief thrusting the tip of his staff like a spear to stab his chest just as Merida came in and grabbed him. Loki watched the trio leave on that damn horse and was about to pursue them until the sound of thunder, and the sight of storm clouds forming over head caught his attention. Crystal blue eyes reverting back to their normal green color and he shook his head in the direction of the clouds.
"Oh no, brother. It's much too soon."
Loki faced away from the storm cloud and stepped forward, disappearing into midair as he teleported elsewhere from within the city. The God of Mischief was just getting started.

“NEX!”
Nex was about to learn the meaning of close calls as Merida grabbed him right before Loki could connect with his staff. Tori got on the horse and hung on behind Merida as she felt Nex close by on the horse too. Turning her head over her shoulder to see Loki had vanished. She didn't even want to think about where he was. Right now, she just wanted to be as far away from here as humanly possible. This incident had only solidify what she was already thinking in her mind.
They needed Superwoman back.
