It was well past midnight, and a cloudless sky existed with the cold stars glittering in the night. There was a full moon tonight, so everything was touched to silver by the glow. There were no night sounds, it was strangely quiet; with a gentle breeze playing across the land. The wrought iron gates in the fence which surrounded the manor opened and closed without a sound as a shadow passed through. Everyone within the Manor was asleep or quietly moving about their nocturnal habits, and he had no reason to remain in there for the moment. Integra had been seen to and helped to bed; and he would be waking her in about 4 hours for the next day's preparations. It was almost 1am at that moment. There was only one reason he was outside of the manor for now, and it was for his evening patrol. Ever since that attempted raid upon the manor by the vampires, Integra had demanded greater security. That security included him self-imposing a new duty upon himself; making sure the area around the manor was void of irritants as well as the interior. Dressed in his usual black attire, the butler swept through the area immediately around the gates and fanned out with every pass by the gates. His figure remained a soundless shadow, blurring through the moonlight with only the slightest trace of crimson which glittered within the intense gaze. It wouldn't be long before he was forced to slow to a walk as he reached the edge of the surrounding forest. No, it wasn't because trees in the way made it more difficult to skin for threats, but it was memories. It was on a night very much like this one which he had run through a similar forest, carrying a large suitcase which held a precious load. It was on that night that he had stolen back the soul of Ciel Phantomhive... Completely unaware that he would lose it yet again... And lose it forever... A deep rage was beginning to ripple through him at the memories. He had spent too much time preparing his meal... And the result was that he had lost it. He would never be able to swallow that soul he so craved... It was a harsh blow to his pride and patience. Already, he wasn't the most patient creature around. There were many times in which he found himself fantasizing about skipping formalities and taking Integra's soul for his own, before the contract terms were satisfied and before he lost yet another delectable meal. It was with immense self-control that he had held back; kept to his promises. Besides... It was quite something to be butler to a human such as Integra. She fascinated him, and she had long since earned a revert respect from him. Sebastian sighed inwardly as he allowed his anger to fade away to nothing yet again. There was not point in pondering over Ciel Phantomhive's lost soul. He would focus on his current contract and master, and he looked forward to witnessing what other plans she had for Hellsing. The demon turned to resume his rounds; it wouldn't be long now before he finished and returned to the estate; where a pile of duties awaited him to prepare for the next day. There came a faint whispering amid the light breeze that blew through the trees. All at once the leaves and branches swayed against the breeze, as if pulled toward something. The breeze soon died altogether, only to begin blowing in the opposite direction, and wiht greater force. A single branch snapped clean off before the wind died down completely. A single footstep sounded amid the trees, and then there came the glint of silver among the leaves, as of moonlight on steel. Slowly, the child of Jenova emerged, stepping out from betwixt two trees as if they were a doorway. And as he stepped out clearly into the light and lifted his face to the moon, the gentle night breeze resumed its natural course. His eyes flitted about the stars overhead for a moment before his head slowly lowered and he returned his gaze to the area about him. He could feel the hum of life in the city, and the familiar presence of one he knew...though it was distorted and different. He furrowed his brow in thought, his expression turning sour. He remained thusly contemplative for several seconds, before his features relaxed and assumed a cast of deeper thought, losing their angry mold. If Cloud was in this world....he could always be made as he had been, no matter how different he might be.

Cloud had no home here in Hallowton, but the weather outside was fine for rest. However rest never came. Instead his heartbeat quickened as he feintly familiar presence approach. It felt somewhat like his other... Sephiroth... but was nearly completely different. It only had the essence of Sephiroth... at least the Sephiroth he knew. Perhaps this one was from a different dimension? Even if he was he could probably cause trouble for Cloud.
He was laying against a tree next to the path that Sephiroth walked. He was a few hundred feet in front of him. Silently and softly he retrieved his Buster Sword that lay next to him and had it lay on his lap, placing his clawed hand upon the flat of the blade. He looked in the direction in which the wind changed direction. It was like a warning. Even the wind was afraid of whoever was walking that path. Cloud got up and put his sword upon his back as he went to meet this anomaly

Of course the peace was too good to be true. The wind had suddenly become far more brisk, and he became aware of a new presence entering the area. There was something dangerous about the sense, a threat enough to make the demon instinctively stiffen in expectation of a fight. There was the sound of a branch breaking not far off, and then footsteps muffled by the forest floor reached his sensitive ears. There was also a second presence... Similar to the first... But it didn't quite trigger the same defensive response in the demon. He stood at the edge of the forest, looking sadly at the estate. He would have to wait a bit longer before returning. This wasn't something he could ignore. The butler turned back inside the forest, and began to walk at a leisurely pace. With every step, a thick black fog began to rise from around his feet; soft black feathers flickering about in the vortex. His slender figure was concealed as the wind picked up yet again; carrying black feathers into the trees. Then he was airborne; sweeping up toward the lower branches of the trees, silhouetted against the night sky. From the tip of the beak to the end of the tail feathers, he measured about 20 inches; with a wingspan of nearly 40. Traces of the dark fog continued to roll off the feathers, barely noticeable against the shadows. The black plumage was flawless and sleek, the eyes remained crimson rather than shifting into the general beady black of the bird. Those crimson eyes glittered with an intelligence which separated him from other crows, he was the essence of the bird... Which was why he was the same, yet so very different. It was strange to be in this form once again. The last time he had taken it was when he appeared before Ciel Phantomhive to seal the contract three years ago. Now, he took on the form simply because he didn't want to show himself to these intruders as a butler. The talons clamped about a thick branch which hung over a large clearing in the forest, the wings folded neatly to the body as he ruffled his feathers. Looking down into the clearing, he could see a tall, silver-haired man... That was the one who seemed to be the real threat here. But so far... He was doing nothing hostile... The second one was fast approaching the clearing, no doubt coming to the man below... He would watch silently from his perch, an ominous shadow over the pair as he observed. If they proved to be enemies, he would return to his normal form and end them here. If they were no cause for concern; then he would return to the Hellsing Manor and continue his duties. But right then, the demon wasn't interested in getting involved in a fight, not when they were so close to the estate... To wake his master at this time... It wouldn't exactly turn out well... Slowly he started to pace forward. His gait was aimless and he let it carry him where it would, being as he was quite unfamiliar with the area and had nowhere to be. He could sense the presence before him...as if it were lying in wait. A soft smile curled at the corners of his mouth as he picked up his pace just slightly. It was an amusing change of pace. Usually Cloud was the one who came running to find him. This time...it almost seemed like the other way around entirely.
There was....something else he could sense as well. A feeling that was far more prevalent and powerful than Cloud's. it was unfamiliar, and were it not for the simple....casuality of it, he would have payed it no mind. But it was intelligent, it was vast, it was close, and it was watching. He would discern its source later, if it became a necessity. But for now...
He lifted his gaze to stare ahead of him, an amused smile playing across his face. "We meet again, Cloud..."

"Sephiroth... you are different", Cloud said as he looked him up and down. Sephiroth was missing something, both physically and spiritually. He lacked the blue and black wing that Sephiroth had, and he could not find any traces of Cloud in this Sephiroth's heart. It wasn't him... or was it? He pondered the possibility of an alternate reality and concluded it as such. "I never met you.... nor have you met me. Different realities must have meshed together on this world....", Cloud stated to this other Sephiroth.

"As are you," he remarked in kind. This Cloud before him....something was quite absent. The doubt and fear in his heart and very essence -- the lingering hate and crippling fear and doubt that Sephiroth would always return. That he would be unable to win when he did. That was gone...missing as if it had never been at all. The hate for Sephiroth was still there -- a different Sephiroth...but just as intrinsically bound to this CLoud as he was to his own. It was enough to bring an amused smile to his features in full, and he shook his head. "No, we have never met." The prospect of other realities as Cloud spoke about them was at once both preposterous...and very intriguing. And it brought up countless possibilities. He dismissed them all for the moment, however, and instead fixed Cloud with a thoughtful stare. "So then, Cloud....it would appear we have no quarrel. We are bound in but name only, and not even to the one who stands before us."

Cloud returned the thoughtful stare, trying to compare the two. This sephiroth was powerful if not more powerful than the sephiroth he knew. This sephiroth outclassed him in power this he realized. However this was only because of the fact Cloud was split into two entities. Sephiroth commanded his darkness and Cloud held the light. His sephiroth could gain control of Cloud if he was victorious over him, though if cloud won Sephiroth would keep coming back.
"What is this other Cloud like?", Cloud asked out of curiosity. "The Sephiroth I know only cares of taking control of me.. to make me suffer.... you seem much more different."
