The suns set on another Genesis day bringing about a silent night with a clear black sky up above and only the stars and moon casting down light upon the city of Hallowton. Dracula had decided to go for a walk, further scouting the area and potential meals as when the suns were down was when his powers were at their strongest. He knew better though than to make a scene with all the forces at work here that defended the city from those like him. He would make his presence known slowly, and decisively.
As he walked he began to sense something familiar in the air. Someone who shared his blood coursing through her veins. There had been many women in the past who he had sired, Mina being one example. But many of them were lost to the stake. This one seemed to have survive without his guidance. Intrigued, Dracula followed the familiar scent and set his eyes upon the source of the smell.

Since the elimination of the Sea Witch and the attack on the Hellsing estate things has been quiet to say the least. With no new orders being given from Integra Maricul had taken advantage of this to spend some time to herself. Of course she couldn't wander all that far away from city lines. The pentagram on her throat made sure of that. She wasn't alone this time though. Camp and Stryker had accompanied her. Though Stryker didn't enjoy Maricul's company, she enjoyed Camp's and it was rare she ever got a chance to wander outside the mansion walls. Maricul had made a promise that there would be no incident allowing Stryker out of the manor. Something they both earned with the death of the Sea Witch. And if Stryker was actually foolish enough to make a liar out of Mari, then she would find out fairly quick why she was the only Freak in the manor to ever inflict damage on the No Life King.
Sharpshooter had taken a liking to helping Sebastian clean the manor and Jeeves, being a Nosferatu class vampire, was bound to the dungeons until he was called so they weren't there with them. As the trio walked down the foggy streets of Hallowton Maricul came to a sudden stop as she felt a familiar surge of power approach them. At first she wondered if Alucard had returned after giving chase to Daikus. But instead the man to appear before them was dressed in a more traditional Hallowton type attire and looked nothing like the Lead Freak of the Hellsing organization. But the power, the blood. Mari knew in a single glance that this was the man who had cornered her back in Isafaro and ended her young life by turning her into a vampire. Sapphire blue eyes narrowing over the man as she parted her lips, holding nothing but contempt as she spoke.
“You...”

"Me..."
Memories of that night came flooding back to the forefronts of the Count's mind. He had been weakened in battle, though he'd never openly admit to it and the thirst for human blood was as high as it has ever been. And she was right there. Ripe for the picking. Such an easy target. The vampire's natural instinct taking hold as he sired yet another child of the night only to throw them to the wolves. As he had been by his own father. His eyes only glanced over to the two at her side. Though he can tell they themselves were nothing to scoff at he knew Maricul was the one who held the true power and potential to one day surpass even him.
"You have grown into quite the remarkable young woman. Your victory over the Sea Witch who ruled here was impressive which is why it pains me to see..."
Dracula had taken a step forward, bringing his hand up to the scarf wrapped around her neck and pulling it down to expose the Hellsing pentagram now etched into her throat.
"You're nothing more than a pet for the Hellsing organization."

"Me..."
“Maricul, you know this clown?” asked Camp.
“He smells horrible,” said Styker.
"You have grown into quite the remarkable young woman. Your victory over the Sea Witch who ruled here was impressive which is why it pains me to see..."
Camp and Styker both tensed up as Dracula came closer to Mari, but Mari just stood there with the same expression of contempt on her face but showing no signs of concern as he pulled her scarf down to unveil the Hellsing pentagram on her throat.
"You're nothing more than a pet for the Hellsing organization."
“What difference does it make to you? You left me to die back at Isafaro.”

"Only the living complain about the possibility of death. Neither you nor I are living, are we, midear? You shouldn't dwell on the past so much."
He extracted his hand but did not take a step back away from the woman. If she wanted to reach out to slap him, to attack him. She may do so. But he would make it a point to have the woman regret for lashing out and so recklessly against the man who made her. Mari hasn't surpassed him yet and she had yet to drink his blood to become a true Nosferatu. She was still nothing more than a fledgling where he was concerned.
"You and I are kin. A beast bitten directly by Count Dracula. You clawed your way out of despair and became whole again, stronger than you were before. You were taught how to survive as I have before you. Look me in the eye and tell me you are not stronger because of what I did."

“I guess she does...”

“You think that excuses you? Because I'm stronger now? What if I had ended up weaker because of you would you have taken responsibility for that or simply call me weak and move on with your day?”

"You also shouldn't dwell on hypotheticals that have no chances of happening."
He said matter-of-factuality and with a nod to the fledgling that stood before him.
"I make no excuses for my actions, and no apologies. My father didn't and neither will I. The end result is the same. You have earned a place at my side and will make a lovely bride. You only need be broken in and learn the proper respect while I am in your presence, as well as your subordinates. Of course first we'd have to do something about that nasty engraving on your throat, won't we?"

“You're avoiding the question.”

“Listen, I ain't nobody's subordinate. You hear me?”
“Bride?”
A lovely bride, broken in, proper respect. All Maricul could do was laugh. This man didn't know her at all if he thought she'd go for that, or he was just that arrogant. Perhaps both.
“I have no interest in being your bride.”

"Silence, wench!"
Dracula snapped at Stryker before returning his glance to Maricul.
"Ignoring the pointless isn't the same as avoidance, midear. You better start treating me with respect. You are perhaps the only one of my curse stubborn enough to address me in such a dissatisfactory manner and that, my darling Maricul, will simply not do."

"Silence, wench!"
“What did you call me!?”
“Stryker, no! Let Maricul handle this.”

“Then do something about it. Show me you still got a pair.”

"In due time."
Dracula tipped his hat to the three before returning it to his head and going on his way through the fog.
"In due time you will see why I was the most feared name during the first Trials of Fate."

"In due time. In due time you will see why I was the most feared name during the first Trials of Fate."
Maricul watched Dracula walk through the fog before looking back to Camp and Stryker.
“I want the two of you to return to the mansion and inform the rest of Hellsing we've located the Dracula of this world who sired me. I'm going after him.”
“By yourself?”
“I don't think that's a good idea.”
“Do as I say!”
The two reluctantly agreed and returned to Hellsing while Maricul went in the direction the Count had gone off in.

Maricul was greeted with nothing but fog as she tailed the Count. But he knew simply disappearing wouldn't be enough to ward her off and he didn't want it to. The vampiress would continue to hunt down the one who brought her into this land of darkness until the fog finally cleared up revealing a large house with dark gray walls and closed windows by the ocean. A ship behind it off to the right as an old style car with covered windows was seen by the front of the house. Through the old double oak doors was a stone entrance hall which forward led to the kitchen/dining room. To the left and right of the round room two set of staircase which went up and met at the same point where Dracula now stood. Behind him leading into a corridor of various bedrooms new and old and an attic at the end of that. His hat and glasses now removed as he awaited his fledgling to finally enter his house.

Maricul stepped into the stone entrance hall of the house, not at all impressed at the sight of it or Dracula who was now above her position with his eyes boring down on her from where she stood on the floor below.
“This is it? This is the great house of Dracula?”
The vampiress folded her arms.
“Not impressive.”

"I do not pick my living conditions to amuse you, Maricul midear."
In a flash Dracula had vanished from the top of the stairs and reappeared directly in front of Maricul on the ground below, his eyes bored into hers all the meanwhile prepared to draw his blade and block a blow from that scythe found on her back if she so choose to draw it and attack him.
"Why have you followed me? The smart thing to do would have been to wait for reinforcement from Hellsing. And yet you come here alone where I have the advantage. One would have thought you'd learned your lesson after the lost from Seras Victoria. Does your hatred for me really run that deep?"
