[Meryl Silverburgh]

Being the daughter of a legendary colonel, a former Vulture and good friend with Drake and Ayanna had its advantages as Meryl was able to easily hack the research computers and download the data she needed onto her disc before taking it out and tucking it back into her pocket. Shutting down the computers soon after as she looked back to the others.

"I'm ready to go."

[Cazador]

While the other three were busy with getting what information they could on what Vulture was up to, Cazador was setting up his own little plan into motion. He opened up the small silos on his forearms where he held his FEITD missiles. He gently removed them and set them to the ground. Cazador would need to be careful with the next part. He would be wiring the highly explosive missiles to a motion sensor grenade. The whole place would be totally leveled and bury all reinforcements in a tomb. He pulled out one grenade and opened up it up gently. One wrong move and they could all be killed. Before he went any further, Cazador checked his radar. Reinforcements would be coming soon. Thankfully they found what they were looking for. Cazador needed more time to prepare his surprise.

"You might want to radio your troops outside to get out of here now. More Vulture ground forces will be coming in shortly. Go on ahead without me. I need to finish setting up their surprise present. If everything goes well then we'll all be meeting again."

After Meryl had finished downloading the information Nadia and Rebecca went to her side, she had valuable information that would prove useful to the Resistance, besides she did ask for an escort. The man then told them to get out of here while he set up his trap, Nadia and Rebecca looked at each other before nodding, "Alright we'll wait for you outside," Nadia said before she readied her machine gun and began to escort Meryl to the outside where they would be thrown into the battle once again while Rebecca protected their rear.

"Don't look at me. I haven't made contact with the Resistance say for these two here."

Meryl left the room with the others and then nodded her head towards the path that led to the back entrance she came out of.

"This way."

With her Desert Eagle in hand, Meryl headed back towards the back entrance cautiously as they could hear the sounds of gunfire getting closer but so far, right now, the back area was cleared of enemies. As far as they could see...

[Cazador]

"Just make sure you get everyone to a safe distance. I can't arm this until then or there's a chance you'll all be caught in the explosion."

Cazador set the bomb down and went over to one of the troops he had killed earlier. He grabbed the corpse's leg and dragged it over to where the bomb was at. For his trick to work, he placed the corpse on its stomach so its face and the bomb could not be seen. Next Cazador grabbed another one of his grenades from his belt and set it to sound blast. He adjusted the volume of it to low and altered the sound frequency to make it sound like someone groaning in pain. He placed it under the corpse. The only thing left to do was arm the bomb.

The plan was simple. Cazador would use the crying corpse to lure in the reinforcements to the room. When they would go to move the body, the motion sensor on the bomb would go off and destroy the surrounding area while killing anything in the large vicinity. Cazador checked the motion sensor on his HUD. There were still to many resistance in the area for him to arm the bomb. They too would be caught in the blast if they weren't far enough away. Cazador would have to hold off any intruders in the area to give them a chance of escape.

Nadia's eyes looked left, and right, so far so good...there weren't any Vulture troops hiding here. But that could simply be a ruse, they could be ambushed the minute that they let their guard down, so Nadia kept her weapon high while she escorted Meryl out of the building. They heard the Cazador yell at them to hurry it up, that he couldn't blow up the building until they were clear of the blast radius. Nadia appreciated that, but they would have to take it cautiously instead of running head long into possible danger.

"Over there! Fire!"

"Shit."

So much for a quick, quiet escape. Meryl took cover behind a nearby dumpster as five Vulture soldiers entered the area and began open firing on the three near the back entrance of the research lab. Waiting for an opening, Meryl finally came up around the dumpster and unloaded a couple of shots from her Deagles hitting one in the head taking him out and another around the torso area where their armor took the worse of it before he ducked back into cover himself.

Meryl wished she had some armor-piercing rounds right about now.

[Cazador]

It was all quiet on his side. There were no armed forces coming in on Cazador's end. His radar was picking up enemy movement going towards the three resistance soldiers. He couldn't just leave his bomb behind without arming it, but if he armed it now, there would be a chance that it could go off before they all had time to escape. It would be up to them alone to fight their way out. Cazador needed to stay behind. He started to hear the gunshots down the hallway. It looked like they the Vulture troops had found them. Using Xray mode on his visor, Cazador could watch the fight through the walls. He readied his rifle just in case they failed. He silently spoke his encouragement to them to himself.

"C'mon don't you all go dieing on me."

"Damn it," Nadia cursed as she began to retaliate against the Vulture troops, so much for trying to get there silently and without fighting, as she fired a burst of her machine gun but missed as the soldier ducked. Rebecca was busy covering Meryl as she fired her handgun as she followed Meryl as she took one down, however another one seemed to have body armour on him making it difficult to kill them. It was a pity that Rebecca didn't have armour-piercing rounds either as she lined up a shot and fired it at one of the Vulture's troop's head as it burst into a fine mist.

Nadia then took out a grenade as she threw it into the hallway, "Fire in the hole!" she cried out as Rebecca shielded herself from the impending blast. It ripped through the hall the sound deafening as she looked back to see the rest of the Vulture soldiers lying dead from shrapnel as she sighed, "Let's get out of here now, there's bound to be more coming."

Meryl slipped out of cover when the course was clear and ducked through an alleyway to get out of range of the blast Cazador was setting up while cutting through a fence and exiting the other side to get away from the battle. It was almost too easy.

"Which direction is the Resistance's base?"

[Cazador]

They just barely made it out. Cazador gave a quick sigh of relief before he got back to what he was doing. It was time to finish arming the bomb. With the resistance now out of the blast radius, he wouldn't need to worry about any unnecessary casualties. Cazador may of killed many people through out his life, but it was never anyone who didn't deserve it in his eyes. A few more connections to the bomb and it was all set and ready to do its work. Cazador placed the body over the bomb and set the trap. The fake sounding cries of their comrade would lure them in and trigger the trap.

Cazador began to make his way back outside. Hopefully he would be able to catch up to the others before they got off to far. His radar showed no movement at all around the facility so he knew that they all made it out okay. As he made out the door, his radar lit up like a Christmas tree. Reinforcements made it there faster than he expected. He was met by several ground troops and a heavy mech. The troops would be no problem, but the heavy mech was packing some serious fire power. Whoever was in the mech was in charge of the squad.



"All of you check inside and clear out any remaining resistance. I'll handle this one and track down the others that escaped."

That wasn't good. It would take time, but Cazador was confident he could prevent the heavy mech from following the resistance. However with the ground troops moving inside the lab to retake it, Cazador would be within the blast radius. If he left, the mech would hunt down the retreating resistance. If he stayed he could save them, but be caught in the blast. Cazador made his choice. It was time to see how much punishment his armor could take. Two adamantium blades shot out from the armor on his forearms as he prepared to engage the mech.



"Let's do this..."

Rebecca pointed towards the west, they needed to get there as soon as possible, if this base was going to blow then they wanted to be away from this place as soon as possible, and as far away as possible. She sighed as she hoped that she wouldn't have to fight anymore, she didn't like the idea of this place being swarmed with soldiers and that they would be boxed in with nowhere to go.

As soon as she had that thought more reinforcements arrived as well as a giant mech as Rebecca looked at it with shock, she had never seen such a thing before and it looked like it could just stomp on them and be done with it, "What is that?" she exclaimed as Nadia dragged her towards safety just as the mech stomped on the place where Rebecca just was.

"Stop staring and keep moving," Nadia said as she fired a few bursts from her machine gun towards the ground troops as they fired back.

Meryl could see the mech from the front of the research facility given its size. And that of course meant it could see them.

"Get down!"

Meryl ducked down behind cover to stay out of the heavy mech's field of vision and continued to move away from the reinforcement. Wishing she had a stinger now more than anything. But there was one thing she could do. Looking at the chaff grenade in her pocket she kept close tabs on it. If the mech gets too close for comfort Meryl would be able to temporarily blind the mech giving them time to escape.

[Cazador]

Cazador blasted off towards the heavy mech. With his jetpack on, Cazador was an easy target to see. If it wasn't for the speed he was traveling at, the mech could easily shoot him out of the sky. Luckily that wasn't the case. The mech readied its heavy rifle and started dumping rounds as it attempted to hit Cazador. The only thing the mech could hit was the surrounding area. Parts of the buildings where the large rifle was hitting were coming apart. Brick and metal smashed to the ground crushing anyone who was unlucky enough to be under the falling debris. The closer Cazador flew in, the harder it was for the mech to shoot.

With Cazador now in close proximity, his adversary could no longer shoot at him. It was time to move in and slice the over sized hunk of metal into pieces. Cazador landed into the chestplate of the mech and drove his adamantium blades right into it. He began to slice away at any piece of metal with in his range. He was attempting to cut his way into the power source of the mech. It was a cunning strategy, but foolish to try and destroy it that way. All the pilot had to do was grab Cazador with its large mechanical hands. The strength of the machine was great. Even with Cazador's enhanced strength from his armor, he could't break free of the giant mech's grip.

It threw Cazador to the ground and opened fire on his stunned body before he could recover from the impact. Each shot was leaving a bigger and bigger crater into the ground. The mech only stopped once the dust and debris from his attack was starting to obstruct his view. For a moment it looked like Cazador had been killed from the attack. The rounds from that giant rifle were more like those that belonged in a canon, but the craftsman ship of his armor was unmatched. His armor had many dents in it and was covered in burns, but Cazador remained safe in it. Before the dust could clear, Cazador threw an explosive grenade right into the face of the mech. Right on impact, it exploded.

The light from the explosion temporarily blinded the large mech. Cazador could see on his radar that some resistance were still in the area. He used his armor to increase the loudness of his voice. He shouted to the top of lungs hoping that they would hear him.

"What the hell are you all still doing here?! Get the hell out of here! GO!! NOW!!!"

They needed to use that time to escape. If the vulture soldiers didn't find and set off the booby trap bomb, then the shockwave of the battle with the heavy mech would. Cazador once again blasted off towards the mech. Just as the pilot was regain his sight, Cazador sliced off part of the mech's rifle. If he couldn't reach the power source, then he would need to get rid of its main weapon and cripple it before attempting to disable it again. With everything that was going on, it would only be a matter of time before the coming explosion leveled everything.

Nadia and Rebecca didn't need to be told a second time as they ducked down immediately, there was no way that they were going to go head-to-head with that monstrosity. The least they could do was keep out of its field of vision and make sure that they were safe if it does decided to attack them. However Nadia was thinking on how to beat that thing if they were backed into a corner, it would be a fine thing to get a Resistance member out only to be shot to pieces because of that piece of metal.

However they then saw the same man going against that thing as Rebecca gave a cry of surprise, "He's mad, he'll be killed by that thing," she said as Nadia could only stare in mute shock. He really was a brave man to be going against something like that, she had fought against a few such monstrosities in her lifetime and they were enough to give her nightmares with the number of near misses she received while fighting them.
