It was about time this entire restocking the library task came to and end. Much as he liked books; after the manor's destruction, he really hadn't been given much motivation to bring books back. Yes, he had included a library in the rebuilt mansion; simply because an estate without one just wasn't acceptable. But refilling it with books was a pain. Luckily; the local public library near Hallowton's castle had remembered everything Hellsing had provided, and were now returning the favor. He had also made rounds during the evening of the day before; traveling to nearby cities to purchase and pick up other donations. There was already multiple large stacks of books in the library from those rounds, a task for the newest Librarian to work with later. The said librarian was seated in the cart which was being pulled along the main road by four magnificent horses. Books were heavy; and they were about to haul countless ones to the estate. So more than two horses would be necessary. As the cart pulled up outside of the public library; Sebastian pulled back on the reigns from the high driver's seat, bringing the four palomino creatures to a graceful halt. He had personally trained the beasts, and they were quite fond of him and eager to please. He had smelled like something vastly dangerous to them at first, spooking them constantly. However, they had been quick to adjust into the well-disciplined, relaxed animals they were now. His reigns didn't even have a bit; the horses didn't need the hard metal rod in their mouths to follow the directions given them through gentle tugs on the reigns. Neither did they need the eye covers, they weren't easily distracted from their task of pulling the cart and obeying the reins. The butler jumped down from the seat with ill-disguised grace; and proceeded to pull open one of the cart doors for Patchouli Knowledge. "Come, let us load these books quickly. I have other duties to attend to." He said, leaving the door open as he walked into the library. It was a female at the desk this time; and her eyes zeroed in on the head butler badge upon his chest which bore the Hellsing coat of arms. She didn't wait for any formal greetings from the butler, she went ahead and unlocked the storage room behind the desk for them. Sebastian inclined his head to her, and strolled into the room without pausing. It was 3:30pm, he had exactly and hour and a half to bring everything to the manor as well as to prepare Integra's evening tea. Not a problem if he had been working alone, but with Patchouli here... He had to appear human. He split of of the largest stacks on the table; and balanced half on the fingers of each hand, like he had the day before. He would proceed to move those back to the carriage and tuck them neatly under one of the seats; space would be limited, even in this rather large carriage. "Patchouli, it is essential that the library be set up properly as soon as possible. When we return, please get to work on it at once. You have free reign to arrange the room as you see fit; I'm sure you can handle making it look like a proper library. If you need help shifting anything; shelves, desks, chairs; please let me know, or else recruit some aid from the refugees. Most will be only too willing to help you rearrange if you dislike the current layout."

Yesterday was quite eventful, the beginning of a larger plotline that would involve Patchouli into the Hellsing Organization, and whatever horrid machinations were buried underneath the estate and its leader, Integra. Perhaps this was her paranoid, slightly agoraphobic nature (though she'd never admit it) warning her of any potential threat, but it didn't bother her too much. As long as Sebastian was above her, and someone else underneath her, she hadn't any need to worry about. It was funny... just because she was now part of a group, Patchouli really did feel almost invincible. Free... despite being confined, once again, to a simple library. Well... old habits die hard.
She walked in with Sebastian and followed him in to the back room once more. No time to be wasted, she took out the two books from yesterday and proceeded to summon a third, carrying three stacks and placing them in the carriage. It was odd working with him. All he has demonstrated was his quite elegant display of strength, yet she knew that he was capable of more. What was stopping him from such an action? Was she slowing him down? "I believe we will need to add just one more stack, and I'll have enough books here to work with for now. Send in another supply within the hour or two, and I should be able to do the rest. If possible, I would like an estimate as to how many chairs and desks we have available for the library."
She thought about the current state of the library. A hollow, simple thing. Silent, but chilling without any sort of mood or inspiration. Only a few shelves, if even a few, had books; the remainder from the previous library. She had taken the time to read them, and felt a little depressed, thinking about how such a beautiful supply of literature was now in smoke, nothingness. Well, it was her job to bring such beauty back, now.

This place, Hallowtown, wasn't so bad after all. Sure he had been there for a few weeks but he had managed to make shop and seek out a job status. Sure he didn't have a great home, it was merely a run down shack that he had traded some of his things for. For money, he did small jobs around the place like package delivery, cooking at a local tavern, as well as some pest control on bad days. He woke up that morning with a loud yawn, sitting himself up on the mattress he had there, and rubbed at the bridge of his nose. He was groggy, that sort of dead like state one would feel after waking up as he let his feet touch the floor while he looked around. "No work today...", he muttered to himself sleepily as he pushed himself up to his feet and stretched back, feeling his back pop. He then proceeded about his morning routine: Brushing his teeth, getting dressed, grabbing a firearm from his bag just in case and headed out.
'Let's see...', he thought, pondering up his list for the day. 'I guess the only thing I really need to do is get some vegetables and meat for dinner tonight and tomorrow.' He was sure something else would happen that day but at the moment, he already had planned out what he was going to do for now. He adjusted his red trench coat, closing it up and tightening the belt around his stomach to keep it from flowing out and about. The air was wonderful there, not as good as the city of Jherrazad but still it was a lot better than Domino city. 'Then again, that placed smelled of death in those last months.', he thought as a frown slowly started to form upon his face. Didn't take long for him to shake it off, dropping the subject quickly as he found the shop he was looking for and headed inside. Sure enough he had an easy enough time finding what he needed, various herbs and spices as well as the vegetables and meat for his food.
As he exited the store with a sack over his shoulder, he wondered what he should do after he dropped off the bag. "Hello? What have we here?", he said to himself as his sniffed the air a bit, looking down the road to his left to see a rather large carriage stopping in front of the public library. The scent was without a doubt not human, but what was the purpose for the presence there. Curiosity got the better of him and he soon found his boots walking in the direction of the carriage, stopping around the side with the open doors as he looked up at the two who were talking about moving books to what sounded like a more private library. 'Well...don't be rude Adam.', he thought as he calmly cleared his throat and looked up towards the dark haired male before speaking up.
"Excuse me...I noticed you were loading up the carriage. If it's only the two of you I wouldn't mind offering lending a hand." Why did he offer? Simple really, he was bored and with nothing planned for the rest of the day, why not?

As Patchouli made her request, he paused in his own movement of two more tall stacks to look at her in amusement. "I brought four horses and a large carriage for a reason. The fewer trips we make, the sooner the library can be restocked. I'd like us to fill the carriage with as many books as will fit; and you may join me in the driver's seat since there will be no room in the cart. If we do that; it should take only two trips to move everything. As for chairs and desks; there are exactly 60 chairs and 6 desks; 10 for each table. But should you need more; it will be no trouble to bring more." This was both a need to restock quickly, as well as a test for Patchouli. Having all the books taken to the library in one day, she would be able to get started immediately on setting everything in order. He would be timing how quickly and efficiently she carried out the task. Then a voice came from around the carriage, and the butler turned to face the new arrival with curiosity etched across his features. Another person who offered help for no apparent reason? He took a deep breath through his nose, scenting the air. Demon? No... Half demon... In the demon realm, half-breeds were completely abhorred; viewed as failures, inferior scum. In many ways, they were disliked more than Faustian Demons; viewed as weak and helpless. But of course... He was Faustian, and he had no quarrel or dislike of the half-breeds. If anything, he found them fascinating. That brought back the question of why this man had approached, and so willingly offered aid. What did he hope to gain in return? Or maybe he had questions about Hellsing, just as Patchouli had; and was taking it as an opportunity to ask. When the male had finished speaking, Sebastian allowed his ruby-red gaze to flick over toward the library entrance. There were quite a few books left... He supposed there would be no harm in getting an extra pair of hands. The demon returned his attention to the newcomer, a gracious smile now curling his lips as he bowed. "Your help would be greatly appreciated, kind Sir. I thank you." He straightened up from his bow, and gestured toward the library's main entrance with a gloved hand. "Just inside the doors, turn right toward the main service desk; there is a storage room behind it. We need as many of the books stacked on the desks to be brought out." He turned back to Patchouli. "How wonderful... It seems we'll be back sooner than expected; so you'll have more time to get set up and I can start on dinner for the estate." He placed his two book stacks in the carriage, then began to move back toward the library entrance to bring out more books.

Patchouli gave an involuntary sigh at the mention of sooner. She had her own pace of going about the library organization. Really, she felt that the books were secondary to the design of the library overall, and that if anything, the first thing that should have been done was to determine an appropriate appearance for the library. Nevertheless, it's not like she couldn't do both at the same time, it was just meant more work for her. First day, and already her superior was keen on making sure that the servant's efficiency was fully used. 99, but just a 99.
She put the books away and was headed to go back inside when this Adam character came to them. Although her attention was initially at analyzing the newcomer, her focus shifted back to Sebastian's deep breath in. Too oddly placed; he detected a scent. So her theory was already well placed, and now she knew a little more of both Sebastian and the third person. A party of the supernatural, as expected of worlds like these.
Patchouli was about to open her mouth to begin some sort of list of orders, but Sebastian had already begun speaking, and the librarian was only left to examine him. Both he and Patchouli had come in asking if they could supply assistance. Although she had done so for a job, there was no real way to assume that this one had the same plan in mind. Though really, in the end, Sebastian might as well hire another servant to Hellsing. Patchouli turned to Sebastian and sighed. "Marvelous, then we can cut through this busywork and I can finally get to finishing my library. I may require 2 more tables and the appropriate number of chairs, but more importantly, I need some form of music player and a grandfather clock."

"Your help would be greatly appreciated, kind Sir. I thank you. Just inside the doors, turn right toward the main service desk; there is a storage room behind it. We need as many of the books stacked on the desks to be brought out."
Adam looked over towards the building that the man had been speaking about, apparently there were books needing transport. Worked for him to be honest, didn't seem like that hard of a job and helped him pass the time as he sat the bag of food items gathered from the market. The building itself seemed okay, but judging by the size of the carriage, it looked like they were transporting the contents to an even bigger place. 'These guys must be pretty rich...maybe they're aristocrats or something.', he thought to himself as he rubbing the back of his head in mid thought. As he stepped inside the grand library, he took in the scent of the air and easily smelled the book's pages, some tables as well where people probably sat down to read as well as other things.
“Ah here we are...”, he said to himself as he crouched down slowly, picking up two stacks and balancing them against his chest and in his hands as he started to walk. Since he wasn't an ordinary human, the books didn't really weigh too much but that didn't stop the balancing issue he had to deal with now and then. As he made it outside once again, he moved over to the carriage where he slowly placed the stacks carefully and looked up at the door. When the other two came out, he couldn't help but let his curiosity get the better of him.
“So...where are you guys from? Judging from how you're dressed sir...you look like you're either a very rich person or just a man who likes dressing in fancy suits.”

He returned his gaze to Patchouli after a moment, nodding slightly. "Very well then. Two more tables, 12 more chairs. I shall have a clock brought up later this evening, as well as a music player as you request." The head tipped the side ever so slightly. It seemed to him as if the Librarian was testing him in some way, the intensity of how she was studying him was enough of a hint. Grading him perhaps? Or she might have simply been uncertain as to whether or not she wanted the job. Well, in time; things would become clear to him. For now; there were other matters to attend to. This newcomer, for instance... As he brought out the books, the demon couldn't help but wonder what his reasons for this were yet again. To wander up and offer aid? It was already unnatural for a human to do so. But a half-demon? Even more unnatural... When the man asked his question; Sebastian waited a moment to add yet another stack into the cart, before turning back with a smile of greeting. The gloved right hand rose to rest on his chest and he bowed slightly, before straightening up again. "Ah yes, forgive me; I failed to introduce myself. I am Sebastian Michaelis, the head butler of the Hellsing Estate. If you don't know of Hellsing yet, you will learn of us soon enough. Might I ask whom I have the pleasure of meeting?" The man had said "sir"... So he had at least some manners as well as a willingness to help. That was good; perhaps the man honestly did want only to help. Creatures who would do such a thing were rare these days, but apparently not extinct. All the same, he planned to remain on his guard until this encounter was concluded.

The two of the more demonic amongst the trio were now delving into some of the more deeper conversation. Either the man will join Sebastian and Patchouli as members of the Hellsing Organization, or he will leave with more information about the little group whose influence slowly covers the entire area of Hallowton. No matter what happens, Patchouli had nothing to add to this. Was she supposed to join and give addition information with Sebastian? No, she had no additional information, only the names of the individual groups and their leader. All she could do was stay as the third wheel, gleaning off information from the exchange. Well, at least if he joins, she'll have someone to give orders to, perhaps.
She immediately took another four stacks and headed outside with the rest of them. "Speak until you're spoken to." Of course, if you follow that rule, conversation may never come up at all. Of course, silence was also a beautiful thing in itself.

Adam couldn't believe how proper this guy was, sure he met some classy people around this place of Hallowtown but this guy seemed to be something more, almost like he was born into this. The guy had a flow about him, and itself made Adam smile a bit from the man's dedication. So he calmly nodded his head in return to the bow and when he asked him what his name was, he felt nothing wrong with just returning is own.
"Adam...Adam Reinheart. It's a pleasure to meet you Sebastian."
As he said this, he saw out of the corner of his eye, the girl coming out with a couple stacks of books in her arms as he spoke up.
"...and your name Miss?"

[/center] "The pleasure is all mine, Sir." Came the simple reply as he turned back toward the library. This Adam fellow was a curious one; he couldn't help but wonder once again what his purpose was for offering a hand. But it would be downright rude to decline such an offer. The half-demon was trying to engage in conversation with Patchouli then, and so Sebastian made his way back into the library to gather the next few stacks. He noticed that the table was now half empty; and felt a touch of satisfaction at how quickly this was all going without his demonic speed or strength. As he scooped three more stacks into his arms; his mind wandered back to Integra. He figured she wouldn't really care about the new librarian; but the hiring was still to be reported to her. He would exit the library with two stacks balanced evenly on the fingertips of each hand; the third stack was held between those two. There was no weight at all to him. The butler piled those into the carriage, and engaged himself in rearranged the current contents so that they wouldn't fall over once the carriage was in motion. Soon, the carriage would be full; and he would return tomorrow to gather the next load. Just a few more stacks and that would be it for the day. Patchouli could get started on the library sooner then; as well.
