Name: Samwise Gamgee
Aliases:Sam, Samwise the Brave(The latter being the least used.)
Age: 15
Gender:Male
Species: Hobbit
Alignment: Good!
Canon or Original: Canon, The Lord of the Rings
Date of Birth: April 6th, 2980 By the shire reckoning.
Place of Birth: Hobbiton
Physical Appearance: Hobbits are short creatures by nature. Sam is about three feet tall, and not likely to grow any more, save sideways. He has dark red hair, which runs in his family. His feet are always bare, as hobbits grow hair on their feet to protect them. He is usually seen with a large, heavy pack on his back, loaded with pots, pans and other cooking ware. His eyes are a light hazel.
Personality: Samwise is, at heart, a simple hobbit, wanting nothing more than some peace and quiet, a large garden, and a pipe now and again. He has a great admiration for elves, and has always wanted to see one. He was the one and only being in Middle-Earth that was able to posses the ring of power and give it up. Sam is a true friend, driven by his loyalty and willingness to see things through.
Special Abilities: None, really, unless you count profound resistance to corruption.
Weapons: A long dagger he got from the Barrow-Downs. It was made by the men of Westerness, and he is short enough to use it as a sword.
History: Samwise, a gardener by trade, is at first sight, a standard hobbit of simple speech. However, his love of elves, gift for poetry, and his firm belief that there are true wonders in the world set him apart from the start. His tutor was Bilbo Baggins, the second cousin of Sam's master, Frodo Baggins. He is truly sad that the Elves are sailing to the undying lands and leaving Middle-Earth forever. Sam is the youngest of five siblings: Hamson, Halfred, Daisy, May and Marigold. He lives with his father, Hamfast Gamgee, better knowncas "the Gaffer".
As punishment for eavesdropping on Frodo's conversation with Gandalf regarding the One Ring, Sam was made to be Frodo's companion, accompanying him all the way to Mount Doom, saving his life more than once along the way. When Frodo was seemingly killed by Shelob, Sam took the ring, intending to hold onto it for a while, so he could give it back after he rescued Frodo. He carried it for so long, he is considered one of the Ringbearers.
