[shadow=red,left,300]Zerax Shogima, Essence of Shadow[/shadow]
If one wants to become powerful, one must surrender everything to do it
Name: Zerax Shogima
Age: Unknown. His appeared age is about 40.
Gender: Male
Species: Demi-God
Alignment: Neutral
Canon or Original: Original
Date of Birth: Unknown
Place of Birth: Endless Nether (Exact location of dimension unknown)
Physical Appearance: His body is mostly covered in a black cloak. This cloak, even though made of cloth, never looks like it impedes his movements or even tenses at any part. The cloak is slightly torn at the edges and when the hood is up it completely masks the face, making it so the wearer's face cannot be seen. When the hood is down, however, Zerax is easily noticed because of the very rough look he has. His hair is a deep black, and he has a bit of stubble on his face. His hair flows to about the back of his next, and is very knotted and dirty. His face has very sharp features, with his nose and chin standing out. He has dark green eyes. His skin color is tanned, which fits with his dark hair. His frame is fairly big, with a muscular body and a fairly intimidating height of 6 feet.
Personality: The easiest way to describe Zerax's personality is speratic. The only part of his personality that stays the same is that he feels extremely distant. His attention is not usually at his current location he never really feels like he is focusing on the people he talks to or the things he is doing. Other then that, his personality flips around a lot. His most common moods are a happy and kind attitude, a sad and depressing attitude, a grumpy and annoyed attitude, or a quite and independent attitude. His individual attitudes each have their own likes and dislikes, and they fit his current mood. For example, in his grumpy mood, he enjoys being left alone and not being annoyed by people's problems or whining.
Special Abilities:
Main Power: Shifting Shadows
Zerax calls upon the powers of his dimension. The main focus of his powers revolve around the transporting of objects from Genesis to the Endless Nether. His powers revolve heavily around what he can and cannot shift between the two realms. Though his power is near limitless, he cannot shift living organisms into the Endless Nether unless he is at full power. To fully explain Zerax's power revolves around understanding the rules of the Endless Nether
The Endless Nether
Though not actually endless, the Endless Nether is a place of absolute nothingness, a realm completely blanketed by shadow. All that enter it never return, and nothing ever comes out of it. The dimensional wall that stopped the Endless Nether from being interacted with shattered when all of the dimensional walls were broken, resulting in cults from Genesis from finding out about its existence and starting minor worship of the realm. The Endless Nether can hold an infinite amount of objects inside it, but living matter that is transported to inside the Nether is consumed as soon as it enters the dimension. Since the shattering of the dimensional barriers, the Endless Nether has grew in size, consuming parts of other dimensions, but not impacting any dimension enough to actually have itself noticed. The two most important facts about the Nether is that when a physical being comes in contact with the Nether, it is eaten alive by its shadows, and when an object is transported or enters the Nether, a copy of it is stored in the Nether for the rest of time. The only living thing that can enter the Endless Nether are the people that were living when it was created, the only known person being Zerax.
Back to his power...
Zerax's power allows him to move things that he can physically hold and move them to the Nether. This allows a copy of the item to be produced, allowing him to to call upon the item at will. He can call upon all sorts of weapons and objects. The actual weapon is stored in the Nether along with the copy that the Nether automatically creates. Zerax's full power is near godhood, but he is limited to what he has unlocked.
Object Call
Spell Class: Low
Status: Unlocked
Description: This ability allows Zerax to call upon the items he has stored in the Nether. This ability calls upon the actual item itself, not the copy. Therefore, it is still made of the same material and is only one of it exists. If the object breaks while he uses it in Genesis, it cannot be returned to the Nether and the item is lost. This ability also covers the object in Nether Residue. This after-effect of being in the Nether allows the object eat away at living things, allowing such weapons as sword or axes to cut through flesh and bone with ease, and allows blunt weapons to leave painful burn marks upon impact.
Dimensional Shift
Spell Class: Medium
Status: Unlocked
Description: This ability allows Zerax to access the copy of himself that is left in the Nether. His physical form then changes places with the shadow copy. This allows physical and most magical attacks to simply pass straight through his body. He can pass through walls, metal, shields, and mostly anything that exists in Genesis. This also means that Zerax cannot interact physically with anything on Genesis. The only things that can affect this shadow copy is lightning based attacks or attacks that affect the senses without the need to come in contact with the body.
Shadow Call
Spell Class: Medium
Status: Locked
Description: Zerax calls upon the stored copy of an object. This summons the object to Genesis, but in a completely black form with a bit of smoke coming off from the object. These shadow copies are much stronger then the actual object and also still maintains the ability to consume living matter. So beings that come in contact with a shadow sword get cut in half effortlessly, while blunt objects punch straight through people as if the flesh was not there. These shadow objects are dissipated by strong light attacks or strong fire attacks.
Shade Walk
Spell Class: High
Status: Locked
Description: Shade Walk allows Zerax to evaporate into his own shadow and appear at any other shadow that is present in Genesis. This includes shadows made by the sun or artificial light sources. The shadows must be within a 1000 foot range of Zerax for him to transport himself to it. He can be hit in his evaporated form and can even be trapped, but trapping him would involve very strong light or lightning abilities that would prevent all of his shadowy form from escaping.
Black Heart
Spell Class: High
Status: Locked
Description: Zerax connects the Endless Nether with that of a human mind, allowing Zerax to influence the being that the Nether is connected to. The being must be of extremely evil nature for the mind to not reject the Nether. Once the connection is made, Zerax can travel in and out of the persons mind, allowing him to sway the persons opinion. Zerax may also bestow upon those he connects with the power of the Endless Nether, allowing them to use Object Call, Shadow Call, and Dimensional Shift. However, the connected persons mind is at the wrath of Zerax. Zerax can implant visions and illusions into the users mind, making the user see things that are not actually there.
Dimensional Rift
Spell Class: Godly
Status: Locked
Description: Zerax opens a rift in between his hands that leads into the Endless Nether. The Endless Nether bleeds out into the real world, forming a dome around Zerax's current position. Upon entering Genesis, however, the dome takes on different properties then the actual Endless Nether. The dome blocks all sight, smell and taste. The whole area is also temporarily flattened. The world returns to normal once the bubble dissipates, but the world stays flat until the rift is either closed by Zerax or the rift is forcefully closed. While in the rift, Zerax maintains all his senses. He can also Shade Walk to anywhere in the bubble. No one can enter or exit the bubble through physical means.
Living Nightmare
Spell Class: Godly
Status: Locked
Description: Black smoke pours out of Zerax's skin, making his body resemble a monstrosity. He grows to about double his normal height and his eyes glow a bright red. Zerax gets increased physical strength and defense, but also gains the ability to absorb magical attacks. The magic is then broken down into its core element, were it can then be used for a short while afterwards at Zerax's will. Zerax's can extend his shadowy arms to grab things from a distance, can see clearly through the dark, and has amplified hearing. All wounds, except for those that are made with light attacks, can be repaired. Zerax will drop out of this form if a light attack pierces through all his defenses and goes straight through his heart, or if he willfully transforms back to normal
World Ender
Spell Class: Ultimate
Stats: Locked
Description: Zerax channels all of his energy, opening a dimensional rift to the Endless Nether. However, this rift is on a much grander scale. When opened, a giant tear in the sky will appear, and shadows will fall from the tear like blood from a wound. It will cover everything in shadows, devouring all life and destroying all that is caught in its path. Through its power, however, this move is extremely draining. To make the rift stable requires an almost godly being's power to be used as a conductor for the Endless Nether. It takes months of preparation for Zerax to be able to draw that much of the Endless Nether towards himself, which he then binds to this godly power, using the power as an anchor to keep the rift open. If executed, the resulting shadows would drain Genesis of all life, and the vast power from Genesis would be added towards the Endless Nethers, allowing it to expand and encompass the majority of the dimensions. However, this spell has never been casted on Genesis, and the first time that it was used Zerax did not cast the spell himself.
Weapons:
Objects That are Inside the Endless Nether
* Katana
* Two Pistols
* Two-Handed Axe
* Bo Staff
History: Zerax's history in Genesis is foggy. He does not have any documentation in Genesis and his existence has only recently started to be noticed. However, his actual history dates back a few hundred years, to a planet called 'Earth'. Locked away in a different dimension, Earth was almost an exact copy of Genesis. The people there lived happy, carefree lives. A peace that was made at the dawn of civilization was still in effect, and many people found meaning in their lives. Zerax, however, was not one of those people.
Zerax was only a teenager when he met face to face with fate. On one brisk evening, the stars where shining so brightly that Zerax had decided to sit outside and stargaze. As he stared up at the stars, his eyes caught a little glimmer of something shooting across the sky. Zerax, thinking it was a shooting star, made a wish that moment. I wish that I could play an important role in life and not become a nobody that receives no respect. To his surprise, however, the light grew bigger, and bigger, and bigger, until the small glimmer crashed into the ground nearby. Zerax, almost shot up onto his feat by the shock wave, staggered to his feet and ran towards the crater. He appeared inside to notice a small orb, its outer shell encased in black ash. He slid into the crater, sweating intensely as the heat from the impact poured out of the crater. He reached the bottom, and grabbed onto the small orb. Surprisingly, it was cool to the touch, and gave Zerax a very calming feeling when he held his two palms against its surface. He climbed out of the crater, brushed it off, and examined the weird space object. The outside of it was actually black, not just black from all the ash that had collected on it as it fell through the atmosphere, and had extremely strange grooves all around the sphere. It was always cool to the touch, and even though it was now in his hot, sweaty hands, always stayed cool. The orb, probably the size of Zerax's palm, formed a strange connection with Zerax. He brought it home with him, kept it in his room, and held it in his hand whenever he needed to calm down or relax. Zerax grew fond of having the orb around him, and soon started carrying it around with him wherever he went. It was his good luck charm.
Zerax went on to study the different cultures, religions and cults that inhabited Earth. His many travels around the world lead to an expanding of his knowledge, and soon Zerax had learned a great deal about the different kind of religions. However, his travels around the planet seemed to dampen his mood, as each day he became more and more distant and an each day brought more and more anger to the people that Zerax met. He still held onto the orb like he always had, but he began had started to experiment with it. His religious studies had lead to the discovery of a cult that worshiped a god of malevolence. The cult believed that one day, a fraction of his power would fall from the sky and descend from the cosmos, and the wielder would inherit the power and fury of the gods. Zerax quickly told the local law enforcement about it, and the cult was quickly disbanded, but Zerax kept all the literature that they had written and all the records that they had locked away from the rest of the world. He studied them day and night, and even though they believed wrong, and their god was fake, Zerax found something else more interesting. The notes had indicated a powerful energy that had been tapped away inside the core of the planet, and if the enough energy was brought out of the world, this power source would emerge and allowed to be accessed by human hands. At this point, Zerax had cut off all contact with the outside world, and used his vast knowledge to start the construction of a giant power vacuum, and the orb was going to help him do it.
Zerax worked day in and day out constructing this giant vacuum. It was a steel circle with multiple lightning rods that pointed to the middle of the circle. At the middle was a clamp that was designed for holding the sphere he had kept onto. His plan was to activate the power vacuum, pump all the power into the sphere, which has such strong energies that it had influenced Zerax's mind, and the immense power from the sphere would rip open a rift in the world and draw the energy source towards him, where he would then tap into it and take all of its power. As the months went by, the device came closer and closer to completion. He had received multiple letters from people wanting to know where he was and if he was OK, but all the letters had simply been stashed away in he corner. The final day arrived. His device, now completed, stood tall and might as Zerax wiped sweat away from his brow. His fingers curled around the firing mechanism, and after a minute of anticipation, he flipped the switch. The room instantly raised to a boiling heat. The orb shook as the power vacuum was turned on, and as the lightning arced from the lightning rods to the orb, the runes in the orb glowed red. The lights in the room turned out, all his other equipment was powered down, and the whole city and country powered down. The floor shook and Zerax struggled to stay on his feet as the massive amount of power drained into the orb. All of a sudden, a massive tear opened up in place of the orb. The sound of the world tearing sounded like the screams of thousands of lost souls, all wailing so they could be saved. The rift spat small amounts of lava into the room, as the core of the Earth fired and smoldered in front of him. All that was close to the machine started to melt, and Zerax struggled to move himself to the back of the room. All of a sudden, the portal closed. The room dropped back to its normal temperature, the shaking stopped, and the lights slowly came back on one by one. However, the orb that was there before was not there. Neither was the metal ring. What took its place was a massive metal ball. It had a keyhole the shape of a hand at the front, and the rest of it was wrapped in chains, the chains having multiple runes running up every flat surface of the chains. Zerax, with a smile on his face, slowly got up and walked over to the ball. A plate of gold was above the keyhole. It held an interesting message, and Zerax read it with wide eyes
If one needs power that he could never earn himself, one must take power from all that he loves and cares about.
Zerax was in shock. He extended his hand out, ready to insert it into the keyhole. Whispers came from the orb, pressuring him to release the seal. Black smoke started to rise from the seems of the metal that sealed away this energy, and Zerax felt the burning eyes of something that was not meant to exist burning into his flesh. His hand trembled and sweat rolled down his forehead. The whispers became talking, and the talking became yelling, and the yelling became wailing. Zerax, his mind not being able to take anymore of this torture, plunged his hand into the keyhole. The keyhole locked itself around his arm, and cuts flew up his arm and to his shoulders, as if mini explosions had gone off inside his arm, rupturing the skin from the inside. His shoulder exploded in a black and red cloud of smoke and blood. Zerax screamed in pain, his wails joining those that were tearing apart his mind. Black smoke started to seep out of the wounds in his arm. Zerax raised his head to look at the prison he was unlocking, his eyes wide with insanity and pain. The chains started to be sucked into the keyhole, and the runes disappeared as the chains entered the sides of the lock. Once the chains had retracted, the keyhole turned into a giant cloud of black smoke, which entered into Zerax's arm. The metal plates burst apart, the pitch darkness that was being contained in the orb expanding outwards. It started to encompass the whole room, and then the whole building, and then the whole block. Zerax fell to his knees, his mind about to break from the horrors he had heard and his body ready to collapse due to the strain it had been pushed through. Zerax crawled his way over to the window with his good arm, his bad arm bellowing smoke that now completely masked his arm. He strained to look at the window, where he saw kids, moms, dads, pets, and trees all being consumed by the blackness. It swept over the city like a tidal wave, and all that was caught in its wake was sucked into nothingness. The only thing left in the room was a single TV, which had been turned on by some unknown force. It was flipping through multiple news channels, from all around the world. Each told the same story before going offline. A black shadow sweeping over everything that stood in its path, sucking every living things into its grasp and covering every square inch of the world. Zerax stood dumbfounded as he stared at the TV, his vision starting to blur from body strain. As he fell to his knees, a small smile forced itself across his face. He collapsed onto the floor, his mind and body giving up.
Zerax awoke next cold nipping at his face. He braced himself and struggled to get to his feet, his body barely responding as if it had been in a coma for sixty years. He opened his eyes to see himself in a white tundra, his vision blocked only by snow. He grasped at his head as pain shot through it. He looked up, having no idea were he was.
Where am I? Why am I here? What is going on?
Zerax waited for his head to clear and then sat down in the snow. He had no idea were his was, he had no idea of where any nearby settlements were, and no indication if people even lived anywhere near his current location. His whole past was shrouded by a fog which no light could penetrate through. He struggled to remember who he was and tried to grasp any information he might have of his current location. The only thing he could pull out of his foggy mind was his name, Zerax, and a word, Genesis. He got up and looked in both directions. Both ways looked equally as bad, and there was no telling which way lead to what. He picked his right and started to walk. Zerax had lost all of his memory, but if there was one thing he could remember, its that he had a role to play. He just had a feeling.
